This series is a great idea, and I especially appreciate that you point out "living like a king" isn't about gaudiness, showing off excessive wealth, or being the loudest or most annoying person in the room. Your representation of both Istanbul and Bogata will prove to be advantageous to both cities, I think, as well as to those seeking out the places where they will be treated best. Well done.

We lived there for year a little while back, and we would have stayed on if they had agreed to renew my visa... Turkey, its people and its cats, is truly and incredible country!!! What a fabulous experience. Priceless. We stayed in the Nişantaşı neighborhood for about a month before moving to Kurtuluş...Our first meal was at the very House Cafe you were meeting Erkan Yilidirim. 😊 We still miss it and its people so much from time to time, like right now while watching this video😅, but we are so grateful to have had this superb opportunity... What a gift!!! ☀

We stayed in the old city about 2 blocks from the Hagia Sophia and it was one of the best experiences that I've ever had. As an Australian staying in a Muslim country (that we tried to invade) we were a bit apprehensible at first, but the locals loved us. Such wonderful people who gave us lifelong memories of which we are forever grateful for the hospitality that they offered us. I can't wait to get back there for ANZAC Day in the next few years with the wife and kids when they get a bit older. We originally stayed for 9 days but I'll make sure we stay longer next time. So much to do. So much history to admire. Awesome place. Awesome people.

I appreciate that you experienced the world famous Turkish hospitality. Aussies are very welcomed in Turkey even though you guys tried to invade us 😂but still we have a connection in history upon which we can build our relationship. You should visit Çanakkale and Gelibolu peninsula for the historic places and taste Balıkesir olives, ezine cheese, and Kaz mountains where you can have an amazing view from the hills.

Despite the severe depreciation of the Turkish Lira and the volatile economic performances of Turkey, Istanbul might still be an ideal place for investors due to its strategic location nestled between Europe and Asia. Capital inflows in Turkey have surged over the last decades regardless of upheavals.

I moved from Mexico to Istanbul turkey the summer of 2022 for 3 months to escape the Mexico heat. I loved living there. I am a solo traveling Black female, and I traversed both sides, European and Asian, and I was very safe and felt very welcome. If you are considering Istanbul, GO! The only problem are the visas. They keep not renewing visas of those that moved there within the past 2 years. It’s very problematic. They did just introduce a digital nomad visa, but they could change that at any moment. Lastly, it is very difficult and expensive to secure short term housing in a Digital nomad situation, so be aware of that. I also want to say that Turkey has been dealing with CRIPPLING inflation and the devaluation of the Turkish lira. This has caused an increase in the anti-expat sentiment because the increasing prices are being blamed on the influx of foreigners vs the government, which is really behind it. Please do not go there and gloat about how far your dollars go. Please have empathy for the Turkish people because they are truly suffering. In watching this video, I truly miss Istanbul. If they would let me stay for longer than 90 days at a time, I would add it as my 2nd country I live in for half the year.

We spent the first 3 months of 2021 in Istanbul and we loved it. We have been slow traveling since 2015 and this is one of our favorite cities. It’s exotic yet felt safe and fairly easy to navigate. If the gov introduced a retirement visa, we would seriously consider making Türkiye our home base.

As the title says this is the luxury living style in Istanbul which majority of Turkish people are NOT living like this. The locals are suffering from many economic downsides like high inflation and high interest rates. the minimum wadges can not buy you a house or a car maybe in 100's years. The changing in laws and regulations also towards the Foreigners Residency Permits makes you near impossible to get a RP right now. Turkish citizenship by investment in real estate now is 400k $ which give many other alternatives elsewhere around the world. My advise to any foreigner is to consider traveling there for short term touristic reasons, and most importantly has to be careful from getting scammed in prices and dont get into arguments between locals as it might be not end well.

I was in Istanbul a couple years ago, investigating the city and Turkey in general. My main impression was: the city was hugely underappreciated, it was huge, it had an abundance of goods and services (some people praised the local healthcare for being decent and affordable, among things that I experienced for myself), it still had great potential, it was rather safe, it was international, yet real estate there was more than affordable. Since then, they had a surge of inflation, and their currency depreciated quite a bit. Yet, I still hold to my view: it was way underappreciated back then, and it still is now. On a whole range of parameters, Turkey is doing so much better than many, many other countries with more expensive real estate and more stable currencies. If its government doesn't run the country into the ground, I believe it has potential to really shine in the future. And, yes, it is a bit of a consumer heaven.

For 5-digit semi-nomadic entrepeneurs like myself: - 183 days in Georgia if you can qualify for a 1% tax on your business type. - 182 days in Turkey Alternatively, do Bulgaria with a de facto inverse progressive total tax rate: 7.5% if you make 1 million USD, but more like 15% if you make 60k USD. If you make 40k USD or less, you should not be going to Georgia nor Bulgaria. In that case, Turkey 365 days a year may be better for you.

My plan was to pick a tax free or low tax country to retire to. The problem is that most countries would tax your pension income, your investment income and interest on foreign bank accounts. I am only talking about £20k max PA. Turkey seems high tax when you convert to Lira whereas Georgia is tax free, yet the quality of the country is poor as is housing

Istanbul is a treasure house of opulence and poverty, according to my former bosses who had to flee the UK due to sanctions and had their homes seized and bank accounts frozen.Yet they travel to Turkey for clothing, food, wine and still have jets serviced in adjoining countries and their children educated internationally and their dental work also carried out in Istanbul. They have houses and farms in the countryside looked after by wonderful people and even export their produce to the UK and the rest of Europe and the USA,amusing! They are easily turning over a lot of money per year per business and their boats still travel the seas to the USA and yet they are sanctioned. Amazing.

So I spent a year in Bulgaria. Tax rate landed at about 15%, which was twice the rate I was initially promised. Not a big deal, but I don't know a single good company there for excellent tax advice and service. So, I left. Now, in Georgia, I am super-happy with the assistance I'm getting. And I've secured 1%, so that's a 15 times upgrade over Bulgaria. Bulgaria is nice for cheap beach vacations, but the main reason to live in the capital of Sofia would be if you happen to have a good job there. Georgia beats Bulgaria in digitalization, ease of doing business, and things like that. Bulgaria's bureaucracy felt really opaque. I was outsourcing everything and had no idea how to do things myself. They did not teach me how to be self-sufficient, and they were expensive. Legal advice in Georgia is costing me about 1/3 of what I was paying in Bulgaria. Nothing was truly bad in Bulgaria, and it's got some advantages, like the German Kaufland is a better hypermarked than Carrefour in some respects. I have nothing against Bulgaria and I would go again. But after moving to Georgia, I don't have any urgent reason to go there again. Istanbul is probably 10x better than Sofia, and I look forward to confirming so myself.

Generally what you a few saying is kinda sorta correct but it’s a lot more nuanced and much of Türkiye isn’t service oriented and can be an incredibly frustrating place to live and just do the basics. Inflation is rampant but I also believe the longer term outlook for Turkey is very strong financially as I feel a huge vibrancy and potential in the country more than I feel in the Western European country I am currently resident. Great video. Well done for upgrading to this format, which you really killed like a pro. Like they say, pictures are worth a thousand words. I think had you started this five or ten years ago you channel should be reading millions of subs because you flow like a natural, but now you will start to see the rise. Great work and Eastan Bull is now on my bucket list because of you! :)

The point you made about Dubai is SO important. Dubai technically can offer a lot of the liberalism mixed with authentic culture experience however it is cursed by geography. It's in a VERY unstable neighborhood and it's weather in general is pretty harsh for international people (though that isn't a huge deterrent for a lot of ppl tbh). The REAL issue is that Dubai (UAE) is surrounded by unstable nations, war and/or just nations that are wildcards in general. Turkey's neighborhood is mostly peaceful (at least the western and northern regions are definetly safe). It is approximate to the rest of Europe and other regions that are rather desirable and places you'd want to visit or even temporarily live in etc.. It's just perfectly placed and has that EXACT balance of authenticism, eastern culture and western elements.
