Hi Kimberly!! Enjoyed the livestream. I wanted to comment on your Glitter Village. If you use the largest needle that you can, it may help you with seeing the holes better as a larger needle will open up the holes and put less drag on the thread particularly with the metallic thread.

I just got the Flea Market Basket pattern and am excited to stitch along each month! I did Flea Market Flowers last year and had it professionally framed and it's beautiful. I know Baskets will be equally stunning. I love the new sale you are offering each month, I've already taken advantage to stock up on patterns!

Pretty funny I was watching this video while stitching on my Nutcracker Village and thinking to myself “How in the world am I going to do the spacing for part 2”? And that is when you read the question from another viewer! I looked up from my stitching and thought wow!!!! I’m not alone! I Can’t wait to see how you do this otherwise I would have to wait for part three also…..

(from Laurie) Thank you for the fun videos! I have watched most of them in the past two weeks & I have learned fun new things. I started cross stitching in 1983 and have been stitching since then. I am left handed. I start my stitch right to left, then cross left to right. I start from the top or from the center. One thing that works for me is to use a double Morgan hoop. I put my left hand under the top hoop and my right hand on top. My right hand puts the needle down into space between the linen threads and my left hand pulls the needle down, then turns it around and pushes the needle up through the next space. It puts so much less strain on my right hand if I don't hold a hoop.

Hi Kimberly! Could you one day talk about different ways we can personalize our pieces? Sometimes I hesitate to add initials and a date because I do not want to make the pattern asymmetrical, especially when there is a border. Obviously samplers have initials and years built in, but so many patterns do not incorporate personalization, and I would love to hear you talk on that! Thanks

Your stitching is amazing. So flush and even across the fabric. I can see that you are trying to wander outside the Aida box and trying new things. Love it! I have a question. When you say you do one color at a time, do you start and finish one color at a time which leads to wandering all over the design? Do you recommend wandering? Or, do you stay in one area and do a lot of color changes? I've seen it both from my stitchy friends. I've tried wandering, but it gets a little rough when I have to put one stitch in where there are a bunch of stitches have been placed around it already. Hard to pierce the fabric withe the needle by that point. Sorry the comment is so long.

agree about linen being harder to stitch on - takes a lot more time, lots of light and a magnifier! I have only done a few projects on linen, by choice. But did start G Leger sampler on linen the other day. It will take me forever! I usually stitch one project at a time but I will need breaks from this for my sanity!

Someone had a question "Is Belfast linen Zweigart based?" You showed a piece of your Belfast linen with the orange line and, yes, that does identify it as a Zweigart linen. Did you know that Belfast linen is the same as 32 count? So, if you say "Belfast, 32 count linen, you are basically repeating yourself. #28 linen is identified as Cashel, #36 is identified as Edinburgh, and #40 is identified as Newcastle. So, if you say "I'm stitching on 32 count linen, it is Belfast. Wichelt also produces Belfast, Cashel, etc. Those names are not exclusive to Zweigart.

Hello FQS! Could I use 25 count lugana from Lori Holt for Fall on the Farm or is that fabric and count not advisable? I’ve only used 16 count Aida up until now but received the 25 count for Christmas. Thanks!
@FatQuarterShopFlossTube2 жыл бұрын
Hello Simply Third Street! You could use 25 count but your fabric would need to be at least 20" x 20" if you leave a two inch border. For help with other questions about fabric size we have a calculator here that you can use: www.fatquartershop.com/cross-stitch-calculator

I did my second Nutcracker Village house next to the first center piece. Since they are all the same size I figured the order wouldn’t matter as far as location goes and the house/character placement is the same as the one on the far left sides.
@thewoollybee3 жыл бұрын
I'm not stitching Nutcracker Village, but I'd rotate both my project and pattern 180 degrees (upside down). I'd start in the new top left (original bottom right) corner of the second piece, which would be where it and the first portion are right next to each other. I hope that makes sense!

Hello, I would like to start Little House Needleworks monochromatic seasons. I don't know anything about Belle Soie, 12 strand silk floss. I will be stitching on 14 or 16 ct adia or evenweave. How many strands of floss should I use? Also, I am stitching Nutcracker Suite on 16 ct Aida, all one piece. I use a Q snap and I am finding the excess fabric difficult to handle. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

Hi, Kimberly. I have been watching your flosstube for some time now and I have a few questions. I am also doing Glitter Village and was wondering if the DMC Diamant metallic thread on their website can be used for the metallic thread listed in the thread kit? I was also wondering if the large pink or blue flower in the Flea Market Flowers pattern could be used for the Barn Sweet Barn? Do you think the center of the same pattern would work or is it too large? Just thinking. Thanks for your input.

The middle of December I decided to stop gel nail polish. In order to get it all off, they used the electric file. Filed them so thin that any growth pealed off like paper. Then, from the area where the gel was, my nails separated from my fingers. They are slowly growing out, but it will be towards the end of March before they will be totally grown out. It’s been horrible and they look horrible!
