thanks Redskin, great tip, a few of my students do that as well and it works great. Another trick is to cover the palette with cling wrap before you start painting. I do that when I paint outdoors so I don't have to clean up either.

I don't recommend using turpentine to thin oil paints. The turps breaks down the bond between the oil and pigment. This causes the painting to crack, peel and flake later on

Excellent advice for painters. I use old catalog books from Ikea, etc. to do same. Using old phone and catalog books have many uses and I try to give everything a second or third use before simply recycling...think about how to reuse and recycle, it makes sense, saves time, and helps the Earth!

Wonderful vid here. Although I didn't do the painting, I watched it all and it was like having you all in my living room! Thank you for such generosity.

I will add oil to the paint to thin it when I don't need to speed up the drying time and medium when I do

a tip for you since you hate cleaning palettes. I purchase disposable plastic dinner plates that are white. you get about 20 in a pack for about $4.00 US. I use them until there is no space left then just chuck them in the trash bin. hope this helps you because you really helped me with your video.

I can't recommend one single brand. It is best to try a few of the brands and you will soon find your favourite brand for each colour. A good medium to use is Liquin

A tip. Use a phone book, to wipe of excess paint. So then you just have to pull off the page when it is full of paint. It's also easier to pick up paint.

If I use cobalt blue, instead of the one you used, and add so much white with it, would it give me the same baby blue color you got? And the same thing for yellow.?

Le médium que vous rajoutez dans vos mélanges est de l'essence de térébenhtine ? Merci pour votre réponse. The medium you add in your mixes is the essence of térébenhtine ? Thank you for your reply.
