Another thing I forgot that is positive is the low cost of dental work and it is of good quality, but do it outside of the capital for example do it in Kutaisi. What would cost me $6,000 in the US cost me $500.

And I forgot to add no mailman delivering to your house at all. I've never seen that in any country.

I'm interested in relocating to Tbilisi Georgia! I'm planning on visiting before the end of 2024. Any suggestions on how to obtain information on purchasing a cottage and/or apartment?

Best thing to do is book an airbnb and when you get there do some leg work and get to know some of the locals.

There are some good things to say about Georgia. Friendly people, beautiful mountains, inexpensive skiing in winter, stunningly beautiful churches, deep spirituality amongst some of the people, year long Visa, less expensive than most of Europe, SIM cards are cheap, public transportation is cheap but very low grade, no such thing as a bus station only one beautiful train the rest are old ugly Soviet style rusted and green relics. Tbilisi Subway has nasty old trains and extremely loud you cannot have a conversation. Some great food but very limited choice nothing compared to Thailand Vietnam and Malaysia. Medical options are very limited, hospitals are extremely overcrowded The capital is hot and smoggy, rent is cheap if you live in one of the old Soviet brutalistic architecture dumps. Half the people dress like clowns. Men's smoke everywhere all day. Wine is the pride of the country but made with seeds and stems and never in oak barrels. They feel very insulted if you don't praise their wine and food. Women over 30 are in shape if you consider cylindrical a shape. The language is impossible. Shopping is difficult, very limited choices. Many common things in Europe and America are absolutely unavailable. Internet shopping internationally is very difficult and have a 20% tax on anything coming into the country. If you've been to the Eastern European countries you will be horrified at the average looking house in most of the country and with gas lines above ground spread out like spider webs everywhere. Dog poop on the sidewalks everywhere as they let dogs run freely. In some cities the water and electricity goes out frequently. Trash cans frequently overflowing, Hundreds of empty villages that are abandoned as people have moved to the cities. No street food to speak of like an Asia or South America. Even in the vegetable markets they rarely have prepared food to purchase. Tblisse has one of the most horrible sky lines when you look down upon it from the mountaintop with hundreds of the nastiest apartments you've ever seen. The beautiful old part of town is very very small, I wish it all looked like that but it doesn't.

I hear that the problem is that a lot of Russians have migrated over to Georgia and there's no inventory for apartments and they're driving up the cost of everything in the city

This was noticeable in late 2022 in Tbilisi. However, on a second trip to Georgia, this time to Batumi, earlier this year, I heard that many of the Russians (and some Ukrainians) had moved on to places like SE Asia or, in the Russians' case, back home, where the economy and labour market have proved resilient (a lot of those who left in the spring of 2022 had feared a return to the chaotic 1990s and maybe being conscripted). This would also maybe explain the recent drop in rent prices in Georgia's main cities, down by 30-40% in places.

Tbilisi is a boring place. Actually the whole of Georgia is boring. Also very few speak English and if you do speak with someone in English you'll have Georgians staring at you as if you are aliens 😅

@@adventurefreaksss I am in Tbilisi at this moment. It's a one time visit city. Max 1 month stay is enough. However it's extremely safe if you can excuse some rowdy drivers. But keep your money purse in a safe place to avoid pickpocketing (rare though compared to some other cities in the world).

@@temochitadze229 I've nothing but respect for Georgians and Kartuli ena. I was merely stating the facts based on personal experience. When foreigners speaks in English with someone in Tbilisi the locals stare at them. But if they speak in Russian no one looks.
