Basically Ahri's (and miss fortunes) lore was always that they were part of a team that had members who died, and we learn, were killed by zoe whos pretty much the main villain in the star guardian universe now. So Ahris old team used to be her, miss fortune, neeko, xayah and rakan and in a battle against zoe, xayah and rakan were killed and neeko fled and went into hiding (so was presumed dead). Zoe then resurrected (and in the process corrupted) xayah and rakan and convinced them that ahri and co abandoned them and she recruited them as allies. In this short you see them trying to 'recruit' neeko who they have found but she is saved by ahri. But also just to note xayah and rakan arnt all bad cause it says in there lore that xayahs having her doubts about trusting zoe and rakan is secretly planning to absorb xayahs corruption so she can be a star guardian again while he sacrifices himself, which you got to see a bit of here. So ye, they did a lot of cool stuff with the lore

No. Zoe was part of the original team. But she got corrupted by Dark Star Matter. And all the Dark Star champions are the big bad in this universe. And Zoe got corrupted and became a follower of the Dark Star. She managed to kill and turn Xayah and Rakan. While Neeko remained mossing

HoshiAndy nah It's never mentioned anywhere that she was part of the original team, only that she was one of the first star guardians. I would recommend reading the official lore out on the pbe as the dark star is also never mentioned. Also on top of that if you look on the skins sorted by universe in the client it shows that the dark star are not in the same universe as star guardian.

@@AndyStarzs1 Zoe is not part of Ahri's team. Zoe is much much older. Shes probably part of Syndra or Janna's previous team since Syndra and Janna are veteran star guardians.

The story of Xayah and Rakan is written in the Skin's Bio The stones in Ahri's Hand are for the Previous Star Guardians who got killed before That is what I heard so it maybe write and it may not

Its always CG based to cut costs and allow more crazy camera actions (which there is a lot of here). 2d is drawn on top of it to enhance the 3d. When its purely 3d its because they need more fluid motions or just artistic freedom. The animation here shows real skill and know-how and definitely not “ehh changed 4 times in production and bad, ehhh” Also, amen to what you said bout ahri. Straight facts

Zoe was trying to corrupt them and rakan absorbs xayah’s darkness

Ahri, Neeko, Miss fortune, Xayah, Rakan used to be a Star Guardian team. Zoe has the primal star power, that's why she is really strong, but somehow she abandoned light and embraced the darkness. Ahir is the captain, and during a fight with Zeo, Xayah and Rakan got killed instantly by Zeo. However, Zoe managed to revive them and corrupted them to her side. Xayah received the worst corruption and became very irritable. She blames Nekko and others for abandoning them during that fight. She still cares about Rakan, but it's just her personality changed by corruption and all she wants is revenge and kill. Rakan still has consciousness, he knows Zeo will do everything to destroy all of the star guardians. He tries to slow down the corruption of Xayah, but the corruption will just be transformed into his body. The reason why Zeo embraced darkness remains unknown, but it is most likely she hates the fate of star guardians. Star guardians protect the universe, but once their energy fades away, they will just die, and the star will choose another "host" to become a new star guardian. Zeo probably hates such fate, or she lost someone important to her as well. Ahri formed the new team with Miss Fortune, Ezeral, Soraka, and Syndra after Rakan and Xayah got corrupted. Fun fact: Syndra also uses dark magic and this might have some relationship with Zeo. The reason why Ahri went alone to save Neeko is that she doesn't want anymore friends to sacrifice. You can see she is holding three broken star medals, they represent Xayah(green), Rakan(blue), and Neeko(yellow). Spoiler alert: Ahri did not defeat Zeo and she went missing.
