I feel bad for Dominic Fike getting the backlash over the length of the song in the season finale because of Sam's inconsistent writing.

I feel like Sam used him to extend some time in between the scenes of the song. And I kind of understand some inconsistencies in this season because the writer and the actors got some dramas behind the scenes so a lot was being rewritten plus some its such a prideful man in his writing yeah season 1 was good but he should hired a team of writers especially this show plotlines are continually to expand.

I agree this season felt like a fever dream. It almost feels like this season was the first half and season 3 will be the 2nd half since the ending literally felt just another episode ending and not the season finale.

I think the show is overrated. I did not tune into season two because of the brief clips of what I saw wasn't much. Rue's episode where she went off on everyone seemed decent but overall, seems like the highlights were about third part situations and Cassie losing her mind. I don't get the hype in terms of writing and characters.

This season was definitely disappointing and a stark contrast to how incredible season one was. I agree completely with each of your sentiments. I kept watching this train wreck despite it going down in value each week. The season was all smoke and mirrors for the what had actually transpired which was weak writing. Great review!
@eileenvb
@eileenvb 2 жыл бұрын
That was the point of the season tho. The writers said season 1 showed the blurred effects of life, like it shows the problems but not really consequences. Season 2 shows consequences of everything, like Cassie sleeping with Nate, Cal recording his sexual encounters, Nate was outed, Rue almost overdosed again and went through withdraws, and Jules, she cheated.The writers said the first season is the party time where everything is good, then season 2 is the after party where everyone goes home and then the morning after they’re hungover.

@@eileenvb My point is that in my opinion the writing was messy and not cohesive. I am not talking about what Levinson tried to achieve plot wise. He would throw out plots and then just ignore them and would put unnecessary filler in episodes. It was sloppy. I didn’t like the season. I loved season 1. Season 1 had a team of writers. It’s evident that this season didn’t.

I just finished.....I hate the way Season 2 went. It was so over the top...missed opportunities. The Play and the crowds reaction was inconsistent and lack true realism....in a show that is already over the top unrealistic. I thought season 1 was a nice setup....they dropped the ball in season 2....WTF!

@@cloudcastle338 EAXACTLY....Dont get me wrong. I get it. It's a freaking T.V. Show...but have some consistency in it. There were no interaction with the staff like you said. The part where they were emulating Homosexual behavior...NOT one person besides Nate felt uncomfortable? They should have had at least a dozen people in the audience either be appalled or at the very least confused. They all clapping and cheering. Secondly, how did Lexi even know Nate's story? They never explained or showed how she would even come up with the idea to do that part? And you are right, someone would have intervened with Cassie...even if it was the Drama teacher, or the Principal or some administrator. Like come on bro....this show went off the rails in Season 2.

That’s what I was thinking. Like how Riverdale started out as somewhat realistic and went completely over the top unrealistic by each released season. I feel like season 1 of Euphoria is pretty realistic, just slightly exaggerated. But season 2 is completely unrealistic and definitely over exaggerated.

I love euphoria but For season 2 Sam really went imma sideline every minority (and I don’t mean in just race) character to prop up the main white characters (Cassie and Nate) and rue (who only probs escaped this because she’s the main character and zendaya is the top biller). We didn’t even really dive into maddies side of the whole Cassie/nate slash nate abuse effects. She was really only there to be the angry Latina. I can list them. Jules (trans) character got completely violated. They really did her dirty this season. Kat (overweight) no words needed - and I don’t care about the alleged bts drama. McKay- completely written out- why was his SA storyline even put in if it wasn’t going to be touched on. He is whole rant by himself. Maddie - I love her but she was really wasn’t given that much this season. Her only trauma was not being betrayed by Cassie but her abuse by Nate but all we got was Cassie crying and her side. Arguably Lexi got more development than Maddie. And wtf was point of Elliot’s character????

Good point on her selling the drugs why didn't we see something about that? She is dealing with scary people, they'd be keeping an eye on her and getting their money somehow. I actually didn't care about ashtrays death, it was dumb how he went. He thinks he is scarface like wtf... The maddy and cassie fight needed more... there was so much build up. Nate wanted his family business so why call the cops on his dad? And kat has gone back to caming it wasn't in the play.

For all the random wastes of time & unfinished story lines, it could've been something to go out in a different way--- not the cliched narration of Rue telling a broad sum up of how things wound up for her staying sober for the rest of the school year, but for her to be interrupted mid narration because of seeing her come out of the school and getting hauled off by Laurie's goons, that I would've been more invested for some form of realism.

The most unrealistic thing about this season was the play, like I get it, shows like this can't recreate real life completely but the fact that no ones intervenes the play in the middle of the chaos like a principal, teachers and school staffs is not excusable. I almost stop watching this show because they throw away the certain obvious realism just to have some dramas going on.

completely agree honestly the final last episode really lost me on the show because for a show that takes itself so soo super seriously you definitely have to turn off your brain in the finale when it comes to lack of staff and teachers during inappropriate play scenes or an actual confrontation between two students with intervention from one parent .The play was super unethical and weird and it’s odd to me that nobody puts themselves in any of the other characters shoes, if a girl at your school SOMEHOW got away with THIS shit and outted her sister, multiple friends’ intimate moments, you’d think it was weird as hell …yet this really got Twitter to root for an actual child to expose her classmates lmao. Like really think… IN -universe … what… exactly is the point of this fuckin play and why was it approved lmao I don’t mean narratively so Lexi‘s character can get some sort of come-uppance or something i mean … why is any of this happening and don’t give me that heightened-reality or unreliable narrator BS. We got a very real- emotional scene of Rue arguing with her mom and then this.. smh like there’s literally no way I could tell season one was going to eventually lead to this … Jerry Springer ass exposé finale lmao. We definitely wonder what is going to happen to Rue bc of the suitcase situation and other characters & while it was fun to see a character in the background like Lexi be a sort of audience POV , and even genius in someways, I did not know it would eventually lead to this narcissistic random play she’d put on and it doesn’t work for me, and if it was written in someway where she would get critiqued for doing this weird shit it would be fine… But the universe turns realism off so we can watch highschoolers fight on stage in front of more high schoolers , One mom intervening ( The mom of the daughter who put on the play to publicly humiliate her OTHER daughter ) bc fuck being a parent i guess , wacky ass Cassie villain shots, every obvious good character we root for conveniently approving of this and the villain characters having a problem with it only; but mostly confusion leaving the second season. like come on this is right in front of you… Why are any of you buying this shit? everything is out the window now it’s getting riverdale ridiculous LMAO

Not to mention the actors and actresses were giving Sam a very difficult time behind the scenes he had to cut a lot of the scenes and we shoot them with different characters because people did not want to film with one another. Hence why Jules and Nate barely had any scenes and Kat had less to none. Sam needs to put them in their place, he’s the Director they are his employees it’s his story his vision if they don’t like it they can leave.

I completely disagree, the chaotic energy was intentional & there were so many things that happened to the point where I feel a more structured storyline would have made it less interesting. I’m glad there’s less Kat, she was annoying and the whole “I’m a fat girl who does underage sex work” trope was TIRED. Also, the finale was beautifully done. I honestly wish Cassie and Maddys fight was longer and I think most people can agree with that. The concept of the finale being a play that retells events from the characters was genius and the perfect way to end the season. I could almost argue this season was more artistically daring and interesting than season 1. There was also plenty of character development. Rue literally overcame her addiction, Maddy realized Nate wasn’t shit, and Lexi finally stepped out of her sisters shadow. The only thing I can truly agree with you on is that there should have been more Jules.
