Thanks brother. this helped quite a bit. I'm going to give the E1 a try, but wanted to keep my Sena. now I know how.

You can remove some stitching from the removable piece. Enough to get a clamp through or at least the wires. The removable piece then fits perfectly. Once the stitching is removed you need to re stitch the ends which remain to secure the remaining stitches.

Mixed results with the 'one shot' adhesive pads which despite the quality of the adhesive pad still has limited adhesion. An attempt to remount involves sourcing suitable double sided tape and cleaning all the old tape adhesive off both the helmet and the mounting bracket. My last attempt involved warming the bracket to make it match the contour of the helmet better and sticking a thin piece of plastic on the lower part to pack out the gap between the bottom rubber trim and the bracket and then fit the adhesive tape to that which gave about 25% more adhesion surface and secured the bottom of the mount to the helmet better. The bracket is vulnerable to knocks which can weaken the adhesion. To be fair that lasted but the foam collar was never fully secure due to passing the wires behind it preventing it fitting quite as it should. My final solution is to actually remove a portion of stitching where the clamp is positioned. Restitch either end of the unstitched area to stop it all coming undone. This allows the clamp and wires to go through the collar and for it to fit as it should.

I use the clamp, there's a gap that you can slip the clamp inside helmet shell. Located a little back further, fit nicely and steady. Reduce the wind noise and drag. The mic will be shorter thou, but works fine even for voice command.

Can you take a small video of it and post it here. That would be helpful to identify the location.

kentyboy1951 yes. If it’s a schuberth helmet there should be plenty of room.

Hi Great Video as usual have you had any issues with the sena 30k unit when riding in the rain ? do they have a waterproof rating ? cheers shane

Shane Parker I have not run the 30K unit in the rain yet. I have with the 20s and no problem. They seem very similar in shape and construction. I wouldn’t expect any problem from it.
