Live Hope Lupus hi please Don’t eat any veg/fruit with LECTINS -tomatoes,cucumbers ,peppers you wil never heal lupus ...i just find out! check dr Gundry -Plant Paradox he’s got plenty information about immune diseases on KZbin ...I want to do raw with dr.Goldner and Gundry protocol ...I think that medication may give false picture about inflammation that’s why you feel ok but lectin proteins are very bad for us....Trust me I’m on the same boat 😔💪❤️

Congrats and keep it up! FYI a Nutribullet works too if you can’t afford a VM. Do same 8 cups (packed) of greens 75% of largest NB container, 25% fruit and handful or more of chia/flax x 3 per day. Also drink min 96 oz water. Dr G says to not incl lettuce in smoothies but I have in a pinch esp good ones like romaine, turnip/mustard greens and don’t forget herbs like parsley etc that are loaded with vitamins. Also guac is easy to make and good for dip with raw veg. I steam some for dinner. I’ve been following Dr G’s protocol like you on my own for 1-2 yrs and reduced meds. I’ve been sick a long time so it’s a process. If I was more strict I’d be even better. Good luck!

GET OUT BRB GONNA GO FREEZE MY GRAPES 🍇 Seriously though, while I’m vegan for ethical reasons and my normal diet is decently healthy, you’ve been giving me so many tips to slightly change my recipes and get SO many more nutrients. For example, tonight I’m using a butternut squash pizza crust from Trader Joe’s instead of a grain one! That plus a ton of spinach and nutritional year is going to be SO good and SO much healthier than just having a grain crust 🥰

As someone with lupus who is looking into Dr. Goldner’s protocol, it was interesting to see what you eat in a day. I do think eating this way is quite a lot of work. Did you also find that it was expensive? For people who commute to work or with kids, etc. it might be too time consuming. I wonder if there’s an 80/20 version of eating this way where you can get 80 percent of the benefit with 20 percent of the effort. Buying a lot of food at once and putting what you can in the freezer for the smoothies seems like a good idea. But making the salad and salad dressing, while high on the nutrition score, seems like it wouldn’t be practical to do every day. I’ve heard that if you eat the flaxseeds without grinding them you won’t get the nutritional benefits from them. Do you ever grind your flaxseeds? (That’s another thing that is a nuisance, since grinding in advance means they can go rancid, and grinding in a cheap coffee grinder might heat them up too much…. Another idea - if you realize that you can’t always be perfect and prepare food like you are planning to do - is there a back-up plan? If you don’t have a back up you might end up going to fast food or eating some kind of junk. But if you have better-than-junk emergency food around, when things don’t go according to plan at least it won’t be a disaster. Your apple in the evening is this back-up food. You’ve already got it figured out.

@@HealWithSamantha My Greek heritage screamed in agony when I read that garlic should be avoided for lupus! :( I'm encouraged to see that you are keeping it in your diet here; there are so many benefits to garlic! I am so reluctant to let it go, and am too hoping that given the elimination/re-calibration of other habits and environmental elements, that it won't be the straw that breaks the camels back. :)

Newbie here. Diagnosed in August. Had a severe first flare after I was started on plaquenil. Well I went super plant based but would have salmon or tuna. Then idk what happened, idk of it was that I was feeling great that I began eating so much junk and adding meats, breads, cheese. I’ve been feeling nauseous and just not well at all. 😖😖 i just get so tempted and want to eat everything! I know it’s not good for me. The healthy meals were actually making me feel well.. my stomach wasn’t hurting, no nausea, no bloated feeling... after I would eat I would feel nourished and not over indulged.
