Sabarmati river flows not just in Ahmedabad but Gujarat state which is under BJP's control. Delhi like Ahmedabad os just a city and not a huge Gujarat state like territory. To clean Yamuna river will require AAP to control Uttarakhand and Haryana with are not under AAP control. I hope you got the point why but maybe not given your thick brain cavity but empty. Yes, certain things can be done easier and quicker in China than India due to political differences in governance. But that is only partly the answer to explain why China has been more effective at pollution control. I am tired of the government saying India is a democracy and things are messy and slow as an excuse for inaction. Using "democracy" to explain failure on pollution is like saying we have an inferior form of government that can't get things done. Is that what the government is saying here? Other democracies can get things done. Yet India can't? Let's face it, its more than just a matter of "democracy". It's a basic failure of governance to work for the people. Politicians prefer endless debates to action. Corrupt officials prefer to look the other way. And no coordination between different level of governments whatsoever. But no one wants to admit that...

I see it as a positive sign too. The process of development brings inexorable air pollution too. Though it's a cause of concern, but it augurs well for developmental parameters. Once we reach a developed status, we can clean the environment easily. But meanwhile we do need decisive steps to mitigate the helath disaster which we are witnessing. And for that we need a good govt at the Delhi state assembly level and more urban centres around delhi to take some of that extra load of population which Delhi is bearing.

Y’all need to understand that most of the pollution can be contributed to using coal as the major fuel for India, while China reduced its weightage of using coal by probably using another fuel. India doesn’t have the same flexibility. Firstly we have large deposits of coal and no major deposits of any other kind of fuel. To transition from coal would require major import costs and would create more debt. China has reduced its coal weightage at this point of time at their gdp level, india can’t do the same with their gdp level.

Nope, it's not.. Beijing has not been in the top 10 list for several years now. The most polluted chinese cities are Hotan & Khasgar. However, they are not as polluted as delhi, lahor, or Dhaka. The list for 2024 is available, and news channels like Firstpost even reported on it. All major chinese cities have drastically reduced pollution due to their green initiative.
