Johnny Depp's attorney put Amber Heard's expert psychiatrist Dr. David Spiegel on the hot seat during cross-examination in the former couple's defamation trial. Dr. Spiegel appeared to get very frustrated with the line of questioning and accused the lawyer of going around in circles. The attorney and witness went back and forth and appeared to get combative with each other.

Also someone googled him and found his practice and bad reviews about how he literally let a suicidal patient of his die as a result of his malpractice. How he ignored the guardians of his patients, their calls and just gave the patient Meds instead of treating the illness. I haven't googled him myself but saw/read this review about him from another site.

I am a psychiatrist myself and I feel ashamed of this spectacle. It makes me worry about the portrayal of our profession. Please know that most psychiatrists are decent, trustworthy doctors, especially the ones who have had their training more recently (the quality of training has improved hugely over the last decades). Most of us have had excellent, diligent training and we work in accordance with the highest ethical standards. This is one of those old bad apples in our field who make things more difficult for younger generations of psychiatrists. I hope he retires soon.

What I love about this lawyer is that he is always calm, polite and very knowledgeable about whatever subject the witness he’s questioning is supposed to be an expert in. So he starts slowly and you can see the witness relaxing thinking this is going to be easy - until, bang, he starts with the searching and pertinent questions! Compare that to 15 minutes of fame Elaine and did I read that right Rottenborn.

I literally walked out on a doctor in Swampscott MA after sitting in a small room for 20 minutes and being well beyond my appointment time. He called me on my cell phone when I was driving home. Do they not understand that they have to appeal to a jury, a group of people that are going to develop opinions based off not just information but also impression? All of their witnesses, except for maybe doctor Moore have acted entitled, rough and just rude sometimes. All of this is taken into account when taking a decision. Technically it is not required, and since doctors were not allowed to see patients face to face during the pandemic in many cases, I’m sure MANY diagnoses were made remotely. It is common practice for actors/elite to receive a remote consult.
