Him being there is his own decision and testimony backs up that his main purpose there was to provide first aid (which is very simple medical stuff but does help people from further injury) I think if you are going to something like this be it left wing or right wing, you should carry a weapon no matter what. Especially a firearm if you can conceal. If you want to open carry that's your choice, I choose not to because that puts a target on me but that doesn't mean I would be wrong in doing so. That is just my own personal risk assessment and not everyone has the same measurement of personal risk. Do you really think Kyle was the only person to defend themselves that night or across the country all of last summer? Again, everyone has a right to be there (peacefully i.e. in a non-destructive manner). The only angle that Kyle's chasers have is they believed they were stopping a "mass shooter" which he clearly was not. They were out to get him because he was on the other side of their politics and viewed anyone not on his side as their ally (Rosenbaum).

In this situation it's reasonable that he made a mistake. He thought he was a hero, protecting others, even though he was not. Nobody is at fault here, except for Rosenbaum who initiated all the violence and mistakes. But Rosenbaum is dead.

There was absolutely no way any attempted murder charge against Grosskreutz would have succeeded. It would have been another massive waste of time and money. Had he shot Rittenhouse, he almost certainly would have been justified under self defense. He just saw Rittenhouse kill Huber and thought Rittenhouse was preparing to fire again. (Search for Rittenhouse Forward Assist for more details on what precisely happened.) The question would have been "Is it reasonable that Grosskreutz thought that 'Rittenhouse was about to shoot me'?" with the specific timing of Rittenhouse manipulating his rifle. The question would NOT have been whether Grosskreutz was right and would only be going off of what Grosskreutz knew.

So let me get this straight, Mr. tough guy, you bring a gun to go riot with and you advance on somebody who is on the ground and you pull your weapon and you get shot in the arm and instead of taking responsibility for a bunch of bonehead actions, you try to garner sympathy because your arm got “vaporized”. The jury had no choice. If they came out off the bat and said not guilty it would have been more chaotic. So they knew, because they were not sequestered, and hearing from the crowds and knowing someone was videoing and knowing media had someone follow them when they went to their place to discuss, they decided to take al the time needed to defuse and examine all the evidence correctly.

The sickest part of all this is the actual criminals were treated like heroes and Kyle who was the victim was treated like the villain. kyle was held for months in solitary confinement awaiting trial for his life in a clear case of self defense on video while the prosecutor knew he was carrying legally and was innocent. Then they gave immunity to Gauge who was carrying illgally and was the aggressor trying to kill Kyle. Then prosecutors manufactured and altered evidence

@@miltongloster2334 I don't know the exact reason, but he was probably trying to lessen the damage caused by the riot, putting out fires and discouraging looting. There are countless videos of armed non-police people at protests and riots like these making an effort to lessen the long term damage dealt. One of my favorite of these video is an armed man stopping a rioter who was attempting to steal a gun, I think he was trying to take the gun from a cop car. The armed man took the gun from the rioter, and he managed to do it without getting anyone killed. The more common videos just depict these people standing outside of stores, acting as temporary armed, unpaid guards. People like these help keep illegal guns off the streets and aid in discouraging the destruction of private property. Rittenhouse was likely attempting to mimic these people, but a few felons decided they wanted to try and kill him, emphasis on "try." Even though he was trying to do a good thing, he was too young to be attempting what these people have been doing. He nearly died and is probably going to have PTSD for a few years.

Also, as stated above Kyle had the right to own and hold a rifle while being under 18. From Wikipedia : Wisconsin state law 948.60(2)(a) states: "Any person under 18 years of age who possesses or goes armed with a dangerous weapon is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor." However, the exceptions are: “when a person under 18 possesses a rifle or shotgun”
