I had a liver biopsy a few days ago. The local was great and I didn't feel a thing apart from a few twinges when the local was put inside. I had no sedation as I didn't need it. Don't worry.

Idk how you are walking after that. I was crying in pain for 2 days, absolutely no sleep for 3 days. It did get way better but it’s a week later and it’s my first day with no pain.

@@BoruchYehuda exactlyyyy and they told me 1 biopsy. This guy I had stuck me 6 times!!!! I immediately blew up my gastro doctor’s message portal like “I was told 1 and they did like 6” she tried to say I was out of it and I was like no I was not. Sure enough the report got posted and it said 6 samples were taken. Then they backpedaled and said it was 1 biopsy with 6 core samples.

@@roberto79676 I stayed awake. Had Drs run a line of lidocaine through the pathway to the liver. Felt nothing and walked out of the hospital in less than an hour. No pain at home. Guess I got lucky!

I just had it done on both left and right lobes. They put me in twilight but I was aware of everything. I walked out. Next day was sore. But it’s subsiding.

It took two injections for mine. Both just sharp pinches. One for the skin, one for inside. Don't worry at all. I never felt it when the actual sample was taken.

@@danielleg2616 - they put me to sleep due to my heart. But it wasn’t AS bad, the pains just excruciating when the numbing starts wearing off, I would use a heat pad or some lidocaine patches to help with it.

I didn't feel anything at mine. Comments like this made me worry but apart from a pinch when the local went in, it was fine.

@@traceywilliams3187everyone is different. I had mine done this morning and I am so sore. I was in a lot of pain afterwards. I didn’t feel like I was sedated at all. They went through my side to do the liver biopsy. So I was confused when I seen his incision was below his breast. I always hate looking on google because ppl have bad experiences and it freaks me out, but I’m just being honest. It was not the best experience.

I am supposed to have lung & lymph biopsies next week. Awake? Oh, Hell No. I made the appointments for both on the same day and am going under complete anesthesia. I have a Black Spot on my nose named Melanoma. 😱 If it's stage 4 I am as good as dead. 😵 Go directly to Palliative care as soon as possible and get fucked up. The hospital will take you down to a 5 (five) those are the instructions. You don't need to be punished or bear pain. Your job is to beat the cancer; put your energy there.
