I visited the Liver Building this week as I had found out that they provide tours of the building.
The tour takes us up in to the clock tower as well as outside at the top of the building. We were lucky enough to be up there during a chime too which was very loud and the views are amazing too.
I hope you enjoy the video!

Absolutely brilliant. I have to do the tour. Only been once, I love Southport and the 100 men on the beach. I would have jumped a mile when the bell tolled. I need to visit Liverpool. Brilliant Mr Drone thanks

I'll look forward to getting there to experience that tour 'in the flesh'. Great reaction to the bell-toll, even though you were expecting it. Liked the music during the views from the top balcony.

Thanks for the vid. The Liver building is truly iconic and getting close to Carl Bartel's Liver birds must be a treat. However, having worked in all three Graces in the 70s and 80s, the interior of the Cunard Buildings (ground floor used to be the ticket offices for the Transatlantic liners) and the ground floor of the Port of Liverpool building with the incredible central atrium are a must.I don't know if you can gain public access these days but do it if you can.

I've been catching the Isle of Man ferry, to the TT races, from there pretty much every year since 1976. This year, of course, the new Isle of Man ferry terminanal is further downstream.

Just done the tour. If you book online, it's £16 per person + £1.75 booking fee per booking. If you pay on arrival it's £17.50 per person. According to the literature, the guided tour is supposed to take 70 minutes but we didn't get that long so taking pictures & videos at the top was a rush. I'd recommend making a note of the the start time and if you're asked to leave the top before 65 minutes have elapsed (it only takes 5 minutes to return to the start via the the stairs & lift) and you haven't finished photographing then carry on photographing after the guide has left. The guide who is first to leave, will wait for you rather than bother climbing back up the stairs. The film in the clock tower is very good.

Great video. I think it was the tallest skyscraper in the UK when it was first built. I used to work on the 9th floor and never tired of the views. I'm surprised you didn't zoom in on some of the landmarks.

Great video. You can also do a guided tour of the Queensway tunnel which is really interesting too. I think the war rooms you were referring to are the Western Approaches ones on Rumford Place where the convoys for the Battle of the Atlantic were planned from.

Good vid mate! Like Manchester. Liverpool has a lot of historical buildings. Unfortunately there are a few buildings in Liverpool with a dark past. They were built from the profits of slavery.

That must apply to the Pyramids and Rome's buildings along with other world civilisations who used slave labour. I'm Fed up with the modern day hand wringing of some of Britain's past, when we were the first country to ban trading in slavery.

I live in Switzerland and knew that the Liver building is open to the public... where do you live then mate? No, that place in the Cellar is not in the Liver building, here it had more to do with the Merchant Navy. The other place, was a place I could most probably lead you to if I was in 'pool, but I can't tell you, off the cuff, from my desk here in Switzerland. It was where most of the Royal Navy strikes were planned and conducted during WW2. I think i'll hazard a guess and say it was under Derby House, which could be in Exchange Street..., but please don't hold me to that, I was once told this by a Retired gent from the city. At least this might be of help for your research into this matter.

The war rooms for the 'Battle of the Atlantic' (Western Approches)are on Rumford Street, Exchange flags, cornering Chapel Street. £13.50 for annual adult pass. Might be worth a visit for a review of that.

My only complaint is your choice of music. Why such harsh, aggresive music with the videos? Why not some soft classical, jazz or even the Beatles?
@misterdroneuk
@misterdroneuk 8 ай бұрын
Thanks Eugene, the music is chosen to try to give an extra element of excitement but music is really hard to please everyone. I couldn’t choose The Beatles or anything like that as it will all be copyrighted.

There ia a disused and overgrown quarry near me in Derbyshire. Apparently some of the stone from there was used on the Liver building.
@millinutz

Yes, I'd heard something vague about a derbyshire quarry being used "to build" Liverpool before, gonna look more into that. Thanks for mentioning!
