Neil your videos are very helpful. I hope you continue to do well. And I hope you can continue to make your videos. I have cirrhosis, diagnosed about 2 yrs. & having a lot complications. Some of what you talk gives me information that I can talk to my Dr. about. I don’t know all of the ins & outs of this disease. I want my Dr. to be proactive rather than reactive. I am considering getting a second opinion. I don’t want to find out later, after it’s too late that I should have been doing something to help support this disease & manage it better. I agree with you that it is hard to stay positive but I’m trying. I’m not ready to give up yet. Continue to stay strong & share your journey with us. Thanks

Thank you for the kind words, I’m guessing you are seeking a GI doctor for treatment. You should ask for a referral to a liver doctor they are called a hepatologist. Normally in big city’s like Chicago, Cleveland, St. Louis, Milwaukee you would have to look up the closest liver hospital to you. But your GI should know of one. And if you don’t have a GI ask your regular doctor for referral to a liver doctor. In my experience a liver doctor is a lot better for liver disease

Your story health wise is very similar to mine. Been fighting for 5 years without treatment. Can't afford it. Medicare part B is a joke stateside but I am in South East Asia so it doesn't matter anyway. I'm feeling okay. I have my good days and bad days. More bad days feeling wise than good. My wife is harsh with me often. Expects to much of me and often says harsh thing's towards me like I am an embarrassment to her family because I'm having alot of pain at certain times that's very hard to deal with. It stinks but it is what it is

You seem like a nice person Neal with a great attitude. I feel depressed most days, I have stage one compensated cirrhosis as of a year ago. Non alcohol, but from fatty liver. I'm 64, I live alone, no kids, no siblings. I feel incredibly sad.

Try to look for positives, I’m alone too so I get how that can feel. So what I do is I rescue reptiles, a lot of them were neglected they give me purpose. So my recommendation is find a purpose. It could be anything. I also every month spend a little on cheap building block car sets from temu. I don’t have a lot of money, heck I don’t even have a car. But you matter and sometimes it’s hard to push on but the thing I cling to is I don’t know what tomorrow will bring. So to me I put a smile on my face and say what next? Because I’ve been through a lot in my life and I won’t go down easy! So I wish you well in your fight. My email is neil12020@yahoo.com if you need anything. And stay strong!

Glad your doing better and have hope. I have Cirrhosis of the Liver my liver specialist doctor has suggested a living donor. Pray for me I have had a couple bouts of Hepatic encephalopathy over the last 6 months. Like you out of nowhere I'll throw up. Sometimes just dry heaving. I'll pray for you as well. It can be rough for sure.

Thanks for your channel. I used to be a poly substance addict. Got clean in 2014, only to relapse during the pandemic. Liver didn't like that too much. Had also been using kratom to treat back pain and boatloads of Delta8 to deal with aversive noise and to help me sleep. One of those things sent my enzymes soaring. Got hooked up to an IV of NAC, which cut the zymes by half, then they cut me loose. Didn't say I had cirrhosis, but NASH.

Quick question how many drinks would you drink when you would drink and were you mixing beer and liquor together?
@Thatdudefresh8 ай бұрын
You know crazy story. I've been an alcoholic the past 20 years. My eyes turned yellow Oct 29th 2023. I was devastated went to the hospital and my wife started saying I told you so. And I knew you were gonna kill yourself drinking. I got into a super depressed spiral. Doc diagnosed me with Alcoholic hepatitis as I was waiting to see if I had cirrhosis. I stopped drinking the day my eyes turned yellow but I'm still being told by my wife how she told me and I should've listened and I'm an idiot. So fast forward to Tuesday I get my elastography and I have F1 fibrosis which is normal to mild scarring. I haven't drank in over 6 months and my liver doc said I think your liver was just stressed. Now I've started re-evaluating what's important in my life. I'm sober and staying that way but now my wife almost acts upset THAT I DON'T have cirrhosis.....she keeps asking if I've had a drink and if I'm gonna start killing myself again....not helpful...so I will continue to find joys out of life that don't involve drinking but it sucks when u want to be positive and others around you don't....

At the end of the day, you have to be your own rescuer. Keep on the path you have made, look for support groups if you need more. Life IS better when YOU are better. Let that inspire you.
@Thatdudefresh8 ай бұрын
@LMTino this is true. And I understand her view point to an extent. Me being drunk for years I understand. So I'm being patient but I'm asking her to do the same. 6 months might not seem like a long time but for me it's pretty big and I'm proud of myself
@LMTino8 ай бұрын
@@Thatdudefresh I do agree - big accomplishment and daily incentive. Maybe fear is the unspoken and unrealized cause of some of her non-support you feel. Heart to heart talking truth can be hard on your own. As someone noted in a reply, counseling with someone experienced in this area of recovery could open doors between you both...or confirm that may not be possible.

Just heard the bit about support systems. Suppose you have Asperger's and need no support? Silicon Valley is crawling with folks who fit that description. I'm very much alone. Old, and a widow. Does that mean no liver for me?
