Was there a couple of weeks ago. Did the Beatles tour in a replica of Johns Phantom. Our guide told us about the symbols on the statues so we went looking for them. Got a lot of funny looks as me and the wife were lying down trying to photograph L8.

My grandad returned from the war to find that his house had been destroyed from bombing. You'd think he'd return to some relief after being stationed in Malta which was one of the most heavily bombed areas during WW2, and I think at the time in history the most bombed place ever. He was relocated to new houses in a town about 30 mins from Liverpool, with his wife and his baby girl who he didn't meet until she was 2. So I didn't grow up a scouser, but I know my roots are there. Since working in liverpool for a few months now I have renewed interest in the city and as a lover of music I am binging on that too. It's funny as I watch many of these vids how many of them are done by foreigners from thousands of miles away, reminding me of my heritage and the great city that is Liverpool. I appreciate it. Thanks! :D

You're quite welcome! Liverpool will always be known as the home of The Beatles, but I was also impressed by the 19th century/early 20th century architecture.

I had a great day at the Albert docks a few years ago taking in the Beatles museum, ferry ride across the Mersey with the song playing and viewing the statues of the 'boys'. I believe Liverpool has got a museum of slavery, a dark part of its history it shares with Bristol. I hope Liverpool didn't remember the slave traders as Bristol once did.
