As per my scouser friends, the way to decide if someone not scouse is getting the true scouse accent is if they can say, “chicken and a can of coke” in a scouse accent. 6 years on and I still can’t. 🤣 The people here are so warm and lovely though. I genuinely feel for them. Stop all the hate. 😢

As an American, I went to Liverpool and at the time I was in a Beatles tribute band and of course I didn't talk in a accent but when I told them about the band all of a sudden they loved me and of course they said "lets hear your Scouse" which had me shaking like a leaf but when I did my Paul (who I played as) they said "Oh not bad then!" so I think they gave me the pass! lol!
