Thanks Dave, like a restorer of old masters you keep coming up with gems from the past to remind us how good this team was, and especially Dalglish. Social history too, a packed Anfiel, supposedly in the winter of discontent, just months before Merseyside was savaged by neocon economic ideology.

Glorious to watch that second half performance. Emlyn on the helium before his interview. Rumours he later did the voice over for Sinn Fein

Come all without Come all within You'll not see nothing like the Mighty Emlyn. I remember my English teacher, Mrs Griffiths, calling me out for singing the double negative in the last line. "Don't blame me, Miss, I said to her. Blame Manfred Mann!" 😁😁 Thanks for the upload, Dave.

They've got the Shankly and Paisley gates, but Dalglish is the equal of them. He deserves a similar honour, both as player and manager.

09:35 Alan Kennedy always seemed to have a very economical way of shooting from range. He didn't seem to open his body up at all. It looked as if he was almost prodding or toe-poking the ball towards goal.

yes his style of mobility was similar to Barney Rubble- hence his nickname

Liverpool 2nd goal was class, but what was the Wolves defender doing when Dalglish got the ball running back to his goal instead of tackling Dalglish, lol 😅

Must have been so weird for Hughes to be at Anfield but not wearing red.

18:42 I'm not saying that players didn't dive in that era, but let's just say that nowadays Johnson would almost certainly have gone down for a penalty. Although would the preceding shoulder charge have been allowed?

Does anyone know whether Kenny and Emlyn played together at Liverpool for more than one season? Great upload again Dave👍
@DaveWallerLFC4 ай бұрын
They played together for 2 seasons, although Emlyn lost his place in the team during 1978/79 before leaving in August 1979. So it was only one season when they were both first choice players.

@@DaveWallerLFC Thanks Dave👍. I remember seeing a team poster with them both on and was trying to figure out what year it was.

Is it this one (1978/79)? www.lfchistory.net/SeasonArchive/SquadPicture/20 Kenny arrived quite late before the 1977/78 season so doesn't seem to be in the picture for that season, unless there was more than one. And Emlyn had left before the 1979/80/picture.

Where did you get this video? It's not on KZbin or any website
@DaveWallerLFC4 ай бұрын
It is now! I got it from someone I know called Dave Chantry, who has been an absolutely massive help with this channel, particularly when I was getting started. He got it from Adrian Killen, who has probably the most complete collection of Liverpool footage anywhere. As per the description, I'm hugely grateful to them both for allowing me to watch and share this video.

But do they have all the matches or just some from the seventies and eighties seasons?
@DaveWallerLFC4 ай бұрын
No one has all the games. A lot of matches in those days had no TV cameras.
