It is hard time at times, but can also be beautiful, this season of our lives.

I needed to hear this. I was raising my 2 now adult children on my own so I broke into a lot of pieces when both of my kids left the home. They both turned away from going to church. I pray that they will turn their lives over to the Lord. Please keep Jesse and Julie in prayer.

Hello, Felicia. It’s obvious you care a great deal for your adult children. Be assured we’re praying for Jesse and Julie, asking the Lord to guide them, and to draw them close to Himself in the days to come. We’ll pray for you, too. If you’d like to talk with one of our counselors (at no cost to you), call 855-771-HELP (4357) weekdays between 6 A.M. and 8 P.M. (MT). Blessings!

Praying for your kids and mine. Mine is starting to talk about Islam, so please say a prayer too for my one and only perfect arrow. I only have one son and I had him young. He's now 24!

Tami, just prayed for you now. Just from my cheap seats, sounds like you might be verging on a depression; probably the Focus counsellers could triage this for you.

Just watched your video and it helped me so much. I’m 59, have 3 children and have had had a child in my home for 39 straight years. My first was born when I was 20 and my last when I was 39. My youngest went to a local college for 2 years then this year moved away for his Bachelors degree. It has been so HARD! You helped me understand what is happening, if that makes sense. I just miss him so much. The silence is deafening sometimes. Already struggling with depression doesn’t help, but I’m looking for brighter days. He’ll be fine, I’ll be fine. Thanks for your encouragement! ❤

I was a young single mom in college when I gave birth and raised my son. I didn't get married till my son was in HS. Now that I'm an overdedicated teacher and my son is a local JC grad, I'm remembering all the yrs. I had him at home and I'm missing him terribly. We see eachother maybe once or twice mo.

I agree that this has been terrific. I no longer feel alone in what I am experiencing. It is a normal part of life and there is hope and new life ahead. Thank you 🙏

Absolutely. Especially when grand babies are involved. ❤️

@@gailmb1 Dont grand children arrive right around this Empty Nest time so it is perfectly timed? My mother got to grand parent when the 8 kids were all grown and she absolutely loved it. I also do. Even when the grand kids are long distance away, I knit, write poems , etc.

I have 4. Some call more than others. I was thinking of sending a message saying that they should all pick THEIR day to call, so I hear from each of them atleast once a week. It's for me as well....😅

I like the phrase "pray...don't say". BUT what do you do when your daughter marries a guy who's a Christian but refuses to get a job!!?? 1 Tim 5:8 " But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever." Please comment.

That's a tough situation, Kevin. We have an article that may lend some insight (bddy.me/37ThpDT), but one of our counselors would be better able to discuss this issue in further depth (855-771-4357). God's blessings to you.

Have you made a video on Christian single empty nesters😳?
@focusonthefamily2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question, friend. Unfortunately, we have not produced a broadcast specifically for empty nesters who are single. However, please be assured that we are passing this suggestion along to the appropriate staff on our broadcasting team. Also, know that we have a staff of licensed Christian counselors who are happy to speak with any constituent facing a difficult life transition (at no cost to them). If at any time you would find this helpful, please call 1-855-771-HELP (4357) between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. (MT), Monday through Friday. Blessings to you!
