Jayden says the Ice Castle can be rented for a full month. That's nice but has he considered renting it during the open water season as a mini-camper/cabin? That would be a way to make money during the ice off season. My late wife and I once rented an ice house on Mille Lacs from May to Oct. The resort had a shower house and toilet. We brought in a camp stove, mini fridge, some easy chairs, and slept in the bunk beds. There was a boat launch at the resort too. It was cheaper than renting a cabin. I think it would be a good business move for Jayden.
@thelonesomefisherman74254 жыл бұрын
I mean a full month, or summer, on Lake of The Woods, at a reasonable rate compared to cabin rentals, would be a dream for many fishermen. I wouldn't mind chasing muskies all summer long and stay in an Ice Castle.

@@JaySiemens what’s the point of fishing if you don’t eat any of the fish?? I get catch and release but that big boy at the end would’ve been on my dinner table not back in the damn lake...
@arathearapaima71073 жыл бұрын
He eats some, could be rule on catch and release
@jamesleclair45993 жыл бұрын
@@chowderwhillis9448 Never keep big fish if you're going to eat then keep a few smaller ones rather than the big one as removing that larger fish will be massively negative on the ecosystem. Larger fish lay way more eggs than smaller ones and in turn creates a healthier lake (eggs are also healthier and more prone to sperm interaction from male fish). An 11 pound walleye would produce around 300000 eggs with a very high mortality rate and almost all would be viable. A 2-3 pound walleye would only produce 1/3 of those eggs and have a significantly lower mortality rate.
@fivemjs3 жыл бұрын
@@chowderwhillis9448 fun. You ask what the point is and I’m assuming it’s fun? I don’t fish so I can’t speak from experience but it sure looks like they’re having fun on the fishing shows were they catch and release and catch and release. But maybe you’re specifically speaking about ice fishing. Either way I have no idea but my guess is they enjoy it

That is righteous! Pretty work and all the comforts of home right on the jce. Tight lines. Here in Coastal North Carolina we don t get sustained below freezing weather often. Cold fronts that last a few days then slowly warming back to 60ish. Not that I am complaining I like the mild winters. I live on a lake that is 3×5 miles and ave 9 ' deep. I have seen it freeze completely once in 62 years but not thick enough to support a person. When it warmed up a couple days later we got a SW wind that pushed the ice towards NE and all the piers on that side of the lake had the support pilings cut off at waterline. That was an expensive lesson.
