LIFE UPDATE: I just want to say for those who are or are considering living in their car but are unsure due to hygiene or need help. There are 2 GREAT alternatives to maintaining excellent hygiene. 1.) You can buy a gym membership, (yoga, rock climbing etc). I prefer 24 hour fitness (or any place that's open 24hrs) not only do they provide showers, towels, soap, you can work out, swim, enjoy the spa, relax, pretty much it's like a mini retreat. I did a free 3 day trial my first week in a 1/2 (then I started sneaking in, until they were on to me lol), Downfall is the monthly fees, Especially when you first sign up. I mean hey if you don't mind paying $75-100 a month cool, (either way, you're saving money). I too was going to jump on the wagon until I came up with the most AMAZING idea, which is now my solid alternative. (2. I went to a 5 Star, luxurious sky rise condo/building, located downtown San Diego, and told the front desk man that I was a current resident and I "lost my KEY FOB" (Access Key) and I would like to purchase a new one. the gentleman told me In order to replace my key fob, i would need to contact HOA and either have them mail me a new key fob or pick it up at the main office, (of course I chose to pick it up). You guys, for only $50 I was able to purchase a key fob (if they ask what's your address just use the address of the building, follow by picking a door #), and now enjoy the luxury of the amazing amenities of what this condo offers. No monthly fees, or stress, I'm safe, I can work out, enjoy free yoga, wifi, spa, do my HW in the study room etc. no one knows I don't actually live there because I have my own key fob 😊. Smartest decision I've made yet. but I just wanted to share that with you guys. it's not hard living in a car, it's how you make it. and like I mentioned, I never felt so free

123gwf sorry I know this is a mile ago, but please don't , its not the answer, you're special and beautiful in every way , you don't need to drink, you'll get health issues later and you really need to live your life now, stay positive, if you do a list of what you want in life and mindfulness techniques it really does help. I am someone who has struggled with anxiety and depression and I could choose alcohol, but I know there are lighter and more beautiful paths to take. X

I used to live at a Walmart parking lot for 9 months with my one year old son in an rv. Wish I would have documented that part of my life, it wasn't because I wanted to but because I had to but idk your video reminded me of that. There were so many others that lived in their cars and rvs at that same Walmart too.

I'm a homeless 67 year old man with disabilities, I've been living out of my car for 2 years, but Walmart's are cracking down on people staying no more than one night, its difficult to find a place to park, & not worry about getting tickets for trying to sleep in your car, times are changing , when you cant find a place to park, & sleep, its lonely out here with no family or friends, because I'm on the move so much , here in the mountains of Arizona, its winter now, it gets cold at night, plus my doctor's are here, it's hard to travel far, but if I can do it so can anyone. God bless

And as far as what others are saying about how unsafe and foolish you're being... They don't realize that they're every bit as vulnerable in a home. Windows can be broken, doors kicked in. Everyone's address can be found online. Living like this doesn't make you any less safe, as long as you are careful and street smart (like EVERYONE should be). Anyone can get stalked and killed in a parking lot no matter where they rest their head at night. You just keep doing what feels right for YOUR life. xoxox

@ANewEvilRising

+Kyle Wolfe don't forget to mention how much easier it is to reach a person through a car than through a house. You can have safe rooms in a house. alarms that call police. It's legal so you won't have to worry about going to the cops for help on the situation. Just all around a safer place to be.

She has two jobs and attends school. I think she may be doing this just because she feels like it. Not sure. Only found this channel a few minutes before I had to go to work, worked 10 hours, and am just now getting back to it. Found it because, come January 1st, I may start living in my car. No great job loss or other catastrophe. I currently have a place. I'm sitting in my bedroom right now. I work full-time. I just need some time away: no roommates, no family, no nothing, so it is possible she's just doing this for herself. Wasn't the original plan, but I may do it too. Oh, and when I say family, I mean parents and siblings. I'm not ditching a wife and kids or anything like that. lol

Also noticed I spent a lot more money sleeping in my car. So easy to go out to eat when you're already behind the wheel constantly passing unfamiliar restaurants. I'll have to work on that before I go again. Toss $500 on rent but spend $300 on food? Not ideal. And a tank of gas, which usually goes for two weeks, was gone in one week.

I think it is awesome that Hobo Ahle lives the way she chooses. She is right in that a person who lives this way can save much money. I have done this and know from experience. I don't live in a car but sleep in an SUV instead of paying rent. I have traveled all over the United States and visited many National Parks by choosing this lifestyle. Living in a car , van or SUV is pretty much the same as living in a big truck, as truckers do, or living in an RV as many full time travelers do. Some people are not made to stay in one place all the time. Some people are true adventurers and like freedom rather than being bound to rent, a mortgage or one place. I get that Hobo Ahle is one true adventurer. Go Ahle!

Wouldn't it be cool 2 turn living in a vehicle into a movement? It would also be really cool if there were designated parking areas for people that live in there vehicles so that they would not have to worry about being questioned by law enforcement for vehicle dwelling. I have a van and living in it can be tough at times even with all the basic amenities!

Agreed! Someone actually asked me yesterday what I would do if I was given 7 million dollars.... I had a list of 4 things and the 2nd was to buy land and make it a "free parking for all rv's, van dwellers, car dwellers, and travelers" hahha

Hobo Ahle In today's world it seems so much more plausible with the advent of natural gas, hybrid vehicles, etc. With this being the case, I would install these features at the camping sites and maybe even require that some or all of the vehicles there be these types. So much money would be saved on gas and, less air pollution!

rachael lamothe park on middle/upperclass streets, bushes, nonhouses on sides of you. Keep windows cracked 1-4.5 inches so harder to unlock ur door.. good neighborhoods with minimal cars, youll be fine. Only time some1 tried opening my door I told him off and left. Its generally safe ive never been assulted or ticketed for it. Best advice, act natural and youll be cool. Because for lots of people, a car is home. From caves, to tents, to homes... all can be made shelter, no such thing as homeless unless you never talk to anybody literally lol. Otherwise, best.

after watching a few of these videos, I've been wondering what it would be like to live like this. I have 2 dogs though and don't see how it's possible to take a dog with you? You can't leave the dog in the car at any point because there's no air flow and they will easily overheat. It's not like you can take the dog everywhere you go, I don't see how it would work

That's what I did too when I lived in my truck :) Thank you so much for putting these videos out here for us to view. I'm 31 and have been travelling on and off, as well as sleeping in my vehicles on and off, since I was 16 year old girl. It's an amazing experience and it sounds like you got the right ideas and are giving things a fair amount of thought before making the choice to do them. Congratulations for living on your terms and not allowing others to dictate how you would like to live your life. Brave AND smart. Women like you are an inspiration to many others :) Life's Good!
