Not all NY is crowded like Times Square. You have to remember that TS is mostly tourists. If you go to the upper west side or east side it's a completely different vibe. New Yorkers avoid TS as much as possible. Glad you enjoyed it.

You should take the ferry to Liberty Island. Born and raised in Jersey and I've only been on the island twice (because I have megalophobia) but it was something I needed to experience. The memorial was on the opposite side of the building you past on your left...where people can park etc. There are column walls that have everyone's name from NJ that were lost in the tragedy. I love your videos!! Happy traveling!

Magalaphobia is no joke. When I was a child, I didn't know what it was, I just knew the water tower in our neighborhood and large bridges TERRIFIED me. It's gotten slightly better, but I still get really uncomfortable looking up at large buildings/monuments/statues, and I close my eyes if I have to pass under/over an expansive bridge.

Hahahahaha I love the Jersey accent! Back in 1997, my sister and I walked all the way up into the Statue of Liberty's crown. I took photos of the book in her arm from that perspective. It said "July 4, 1776". It was an amazing experience. When you're nearly twenty stories high inside of her, you can feel her tottering from side to side. It was WILD. Highly recommend visiting her. She's about 20 something stories high, and when you get to Liberry Island you can see she's actually walking, not standing
@carolhuser8299 Жыл бұрын
I walked up to the top when I was about 13. I am now 68, and while it was an experience, they packed the people in and you had to keep climbing those stairs, no stopping😊

@Carol Huser yes! The spiral stairs were packed and kind of scary, lol, but all the visitors felt a bit like comraderie and a once in a lifetime shared experience. I was much younger when I did it. I don't think I can do that now 😆

Next time ur in NYC, go down to the tip of manhattan and take the ferry out to the Statue of Liberty! The views of Manhattan from the water are breathtaking, as is the statue itself! Go take the elevator up to the observation deck of the Empire State Building for the views of a lifetime! Also, go up and see Central Park and all the fabulous old apt building around the park (I.e. the Dakota where John & Yoko lived...the architecture is amazing!) And, this is an insider tip.....go to Juniors for cheesecake! Easily "the" most amazing thing youve ever tasted!!! World famous cheesecake! And for gosh sake, go take a walk around Greenwich Villiage before you leave!

Why cruise when you can walk .. actually you can see WAY more of the city from the boat. San Diego and any city on the water is the same. It is a reasonable way to see the most in a day… especially if your time is limited. Also those heritage trolley tours where you can hop on and off are really nice. You still walk everywhere .. but you are walking in the areas you wanted to see instead of wandering around random streets and exhausting yourself. I think they are the best way to see the most in the shortest amount of time. You are exposed to the most options and you can revisit your favorites❤😊

Greetings Nomi, you are a bright spot 🌞 Your enthusiasm for new and old is inspirational: Bay window architecture (like in San Francisco), blueberry clafouti (say Klah-Foo-Tee…sweet egg custard fruit tart). I note the places you visit to consider on our own journeys, thank you! With your permission, I’ll offer some long-winded van life insight regarding a doggie companion. I’m so happy that someday some sweet pup will be loved by you! We’ve always had a sweet dog in our lives, our dog travels with us in our van (mostly western states thus far) hikes, camps, loves everyone and all things as long as he’s with us and our “pack” is together. There are lots of wonderful places to go and see in your travels around this beautiful country. Thankfully many places are dog friendly, it’s a searchable term for restaurants motels parks etc. Regrettably, many places you might wish to visit don’t welcome doggie visitors. If visiting National Parks is part of your plan be aware most NPs restrict dogs to paved roadways and trails…you cannot take them along on many spectacular walks or into buildings. Then the heat is a real serious danger for traveling dogs too. We wind up rushing through hot climates missing sites, restaurants, points of interest in when we fear potential health issues for our dog. Van life can be suitable and enjoyable for pet companions, they are very much like children and many of the same considerations apply. It’s got to be a big pull to have a dog companion, you’ve mentioned that several times. Perhaps you might consider experiencing a year of independent traveling first? I hope you receive this with love. Know that you are appreciated and enjoy your independent life 💜☮️
