You're welcome. Thanks for the comment. For a Canadian they would probably say no, but in our opinion too much of the year is cold. It's not just the winter. The summer in Toronto is AMAZING, but there are the other months to live in too. 😁 Where would you be moving from?

Would you recommend portugal over toronto? What are the pros compared to toronto?
@ExpatsEverywhere4 жыл бұрын
Hey, Firas. It's not exactly a fair comparison for us to make as this series is a part of an audience driven series in 2020 where we polled our audience every 2 weeks on where they want us to do a city guide for. One of the contributors at ExpatsEverywhere actually lives in Toronto but has never lived in Portugal, and Josh & Kalie are currently living in Portugal but have never lived in Toronto. They've only visited. With that said, both are fantastic places. Weather and cost of living in Portugal are amazing compared to Toronto. Wages in Toronto blow Portugal out of the water. Thanks for the question. If you want to continue dialogue, email us at expatseverywhere@gmail.com

How does it work come tax time? Do you pay US and Canadian taxes?
@ExpatsEverywhere4 жыл бұрын
Probably not but depends. This isn’t legal or tax advice. You tax situation will depend on how you’re registered, who’s paying you, how long you’ve been out of the US. By in large, when you’re a resident of a foreign country especially for a year or more, you’ll file taxes with the US and the income you’ve made, file it as foreign earned income. There’s a large exclusion for this. We have a video about this. Check it out. Thanks for the question. kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5fOiGuJfa-JbdE

Omg dude I really appreciate it from the EU im half Irish/half Slovak I know 4 languages,English, Slovak, Polish, Czech, I understand Russian and Irish thats why as a European speaking many languages, Toronto will hopefully be the perfect place for me! Since it speaks 200 language it would be fun to chat to others so would you have any a little more specific recommendations as to what I could work as? Also I love and really really appreciate that ye guys are coming to Portugal in Europe its a amazing place the beaches are fantastic...
@ExpatsEverywhere4 жыл бұрын
Thanks, KrymEx. We appreciate the thoughtful comment and the support of the channel. Toronto is a very cool place. We have good friends there and really like it a lot. Without knowing what experience you have or what skills you have, it's hard to give recommendations. If you check their (Canadian) immigration website, they do state some of the skills that give people more points for immigration. Try to leverage that so that you can be a skilled worker. It'll be easier to be hired that way. Hope that gives you a start.

I would think that Vancouver Real Estate is waaayyy more expensive than Toronto's due to its warmer weather during winter and proximity to Foreign Buyers/Investors.
@ExpatsEverywhere4 жыл бұрын
Great comment. Thanks. You would think for sure. Check this data out. www.numbeo.com/property-investment/compare_cities.jsp?country1=Canada&city1=Toronto&country2=Canada&city2=Vancouver
@C-mac_in_the_6ix3 жыл бұрын
Vancouver is very expensive, but what your over looking is the population factor. The reason real estate is so expensive in Toronto is easy, it's a supply and demand issue. Canada lets about 300,000 people immigrate into the country each year, and a good chunk of those people come to the GTA because no matter where they're coming from, they will have a community here and feel comfortable. Add that to the already existing demand by natives trying to get into the market, it's quite competitive. The prices are so ridiculous they've been saying there's going to be a crash for the last 25 years....lol.
