I'm in the UK. The Lord guided me to do so many things over the last 4 years, I didn't know why at the time but I went with it all and trusted him. What were you guided to do? I was guided to buy an old run down farm house, with some land. The house is in need of repairs, but has porches on the front and back, keeping it cool without air conditioning. I am learning the old ways.

Very timely discussion, Bill & Elizabeth. Thank you! We're retired pastors & near mid-70's in age. We always went to minister wherever He led us & many times prayed in groceries. So We are snug now in an older RV on a lot we purchased that He led us to. His assignment to us is to "Love the Lord our God with all of our hearts, souls & minds, and our neighbor as ourselves". Matthew 22 Our neghbors are a heartbroken man who discovered his wife was unfaithful & he's going through divorce. Another couple quite well off, but need our Lord Jesus deeply, another, a drug-addled young man that the other neighbors shunned. His girfriend had his baby, but didn't want the baby, only him. It was love at first sight & he chose his son. He has raised him as a loving, committed father, but still struggled some with drugs....legal marijuana in our state & our leadership were kicking him out, but I've gotten to tell Him a lot about Jesus & he prayed & received Jesus as his Savior a year ago. He's gotten to see the Lord open the door for a place to live & meet all of his needs. We buy some extra groceries each month to have it to share if things get tough for us all. If we run out we have God's beautiful example in the loaves & fishes feeding the multitude in scripture. His promises are sure & He will provide for each of us. Lord Jesus bless you, Old Grandma❤️👵

When I saw the total bill at the grocery store checkout yesterday, I felt like I was paying with Monopoly money since I needed so much of it. On a positive note I got 10 pounds of flour for under 5 bucks. That helps with the food budget. On matters of faith I find that traditional hymns keep me grounded in Christ. This morning I woke up with "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" running through my head. One of my favorite hymns.

I retired 2.5 years ago and am approaching age 64. My husband is several years older than me. These are strange and turbulent times we are living in for sure. I agree with what you both said. Here we are in our retirement years wanting to travel but times are unpredictable. Faith in God is important for sure.

No offense, but get away to where? These things are happening every where. I recently lost a chicken that was dear to my heart. She struggled against the illness that was taking her life to the very end. She mustered up her strength several times and tried to run, but only succeeded in running into objects she could no longer see. In reading your comment that horrible analogy came into my mind. I’m sure it’s for me to take to heart, but I thought I would also share it.

It does feel more like two worlds. The reminder to pray for our leadership is important. The best prep is spiritual because natural disaster or widespread panic could consume our other preps. I do prep, but if I keep my eyes just on here and now, I could panic. John 14:1 - “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.”

Thank you both so much for this video! As a Christian, I have definitely felt this. I am currently living in a mobile home (I own) in need of major repairs. I recently (last month) finished a four year program to pay off my debt. My home sits in a mobile home park on a lot with a steep hill behind it. Rain runs down & under my home...causing my floors to rot from underneath. Even if I could fix them, the same thing would probably continue to happen again. As a Christian who has been trying to prep, I struggle (as you said), with knowing how to prepare for the future. Which future? Is this home (1997 model) worth fixing? If not, can I even afford another place to live (housing/rental prices are so high). I've been praying about which way God wants me to go. As you both have said...We need to prepare for both scenarios. Because I have been stocking up on food & living necessities (which are now much more expensive than when I purchased them), I will have to move & store them also, if I move. 🤔🙂 As you both have said, our relationship with Jesus our Lord is the most important aspect in our lives & our decisions. Praying that He will lead me in making the right decisions for whatever future is coming. 🙏❣

Sane here, in a park, too. It's gone up to almost $300 for lot rent. My water heater burst over 4 yrs ago so mold is in here and no water. That's why I'm moving into a HUD home. 🙏

I have rented a room out to pay for needed repairs and get help with the heavy lifting. Many other people are in the same situation and there will be more of them soon especially those of us on a fixed income which could disappear at any moment. Definitely worth repairing at least the kitchen and bathroom areas even if you wind up sleeping in those rooms (I can live rough if needed). Make sure you have stopped all drafts so you can maintain heat.

My husband and I live in the UK and I really wanted to extend my thanks to you both and a number of other wonderful channels I follow. We've been making sensible preparations for the economic uncertainty that is coming for a couple of years now as a consequence of the great tips that are shared but also because there is a confidence that comes from knowing other good people like you both share the same concerns and think being prepared is sensible and rational. Two years ago, people had a smirk in response to our new food storage pantry, not so now, my concerns have become a reality in terms of food price inflation and scarce availability. We've recently invested in a solar generator, a water filter for rain water, and rain capture barrels. We created an outdoor kitchen as an emergency back up but also as a fun alternative to indoor cooking. I loved your discussion of living in two worlds, that's how we approach it. We don't live in panic mode, we live in realistic mode. I actually live my lifestyle now, it's great to have my own little pantry store to rely on instead of having to run to the store all the time. It's great to know we can watch a DVD or use any appliance in a power outage. If there is a temporary problem with the water supply, we're covered. It takes the anxiety away because we know we have a plan B and even a plan C. In terms of spiritually, I wonder how much nicer people and life would be if everyone believed that tomorrow was the day. I say fill up your lamps with oil today because if you look after today, tomorrow will be a better day. God Bless ❤️

Thank you for sharing. As a personal guideline I do not share what I have in my prepping-emergency stores with anyone except my son. I never refer to having any prepped food supply. I am planning to stay in place as I am past the age to flee. You are fortunate to have a spouse.

Many of us have known for years about this scenario. As time has gone by we have become frugal, more minimalist, doing as you're doing, using gadgets that don't need electricity, being less materialistic, etc. We can do the best we can. Many of us are trying many of the tips you keep giving us. I have cut unhealthy snacks. I use a lot less things than I used to, I have more though. I simply ask God, he's been helping me till now. It is now basically in God's hands. That is all I can depend on. In the name of Jesus who died on the cross for our sins.

I'm semi-retired, still working just a few hours a week to make my budget work. I have felt for a long time that we will be living like the 1800s within a few years, or maybe even months. I've done my preps and now I'm filling in the spots that need just a little more. My real concern is if our medications are no longer available. Many of us will be in a terminal position without our medications. My main security is our Lord. He is always with us.

Part of my prep is to learn more about the medicinal properties of plants growing all around us. Research over the last few years is now supporting that many traditionally used herbs and plants do exactly what our ancestors said they did. Of course like anything there are pitfalls and people making ridiculous claims. Get a really good book on building a homemade apothecary and a good guide to identify wild plants in your area. I'm confident that like me, you'll find you have a shop full of reliable remedies growing near your home.

This has been my dilemma for 35 years. There were a lot of things I didn’t understand about costs because my husband spoiled me. I did prepare food wise for last winter but didn’t plan on mice. Thank you for your wisdom and experience . So many people are unprepared for anything, esp. the very young or younger generations. I'm the generation just after you'rs, but I have always had older friends. I enjoy their stories and learning from other people's experience. So much knowledge has been lost or has become hidden. So we have to do what we can wisely to help others to learn and do for themselves. OMT hand sanitizer is good for when you don't have water to wash your hands with, baby wipes are good as wet washclothes or wipes for whatever you need them for. Baby diapers (nappies) of cloth are good as bandages, feminine hygien pads and burp clothes for babies. There are multiple uses for many things. I learned this from my grandmother who grew up during the great depression. Find new uses for what you do have. Don't panic but prepare and trust YHWH (our Creator God). It's in his capable hands as are our lives, like little children, we must trust in our Heavenly Father to take care of us when we can't but it is up to us to prepare as best we can or do all that we can, not be lazy before hand. He will do the rest. Jesus(Yeshua) said "occupy till I come" I take that literally. Don't give all of your money, house, belongings away, he said "Occupy until I come to you" . "Occupy", not wait until you're sucked up in some unforseen never never land day. Also "when you've done all you can do, stand".. We're to stand in Jesus Christ of Nazareth and in the power of HIS might. So we occupy, stand and "Do not fear". He says that a lot in the Old Testament, but it's true today as well.

Bill and Elizabeth, my writing that it would be good to have a completed "get away van" was meaning that you may want to get away for a weekend (recreation), or leave your home for a bit because of wildfires or floods,. You have the the ability to use your van to do this. You could sleep in your van. This would be your "bug out vehicle". This could even be a car with water, granola bars and blankets. This gives you metal and glass between you and other people. Shelters with lots of people may or may not be safe to sleep in. They offer supports but to sleep, a vehicle could be safer. You are busy enough with your Thrive Life business, working on your own home, gardening, dealing with medical things, etc. My hope is that you can complete and sell the flip house soon (and make a nice profit😊). You and your son and family are working very hard. Hugs 😊.

Hi Bill. Hi Elizabeth. Here in the Uk our utility bills have gone up 85%. My mortgage has increased 4 times since March, less than six months. I cannot afford to put the heating on when the winter comes. I’m crocheting extra blankets and shawls for the cold months. So worrying. My pantry is full. It would cost over £4000 to install a wood stove and councils are threatening to force extra tax on people who have wood burners. My house is all electric. It’s so worrying but I know God is in charge and focusing on our Lord helps me a great deal. Much love to you both. God bless 🙏🏻

Sadly, many teachers are complicit in promoting the current anti-Christ agenda which goes nicely with the “w” culture. I would imagine it is very challenging being a Christian teacher these days. I have what I call my apocalypse bucket list in which I buy what I can every month to prepare for the end. I'm maybe half way through the list but if the stuff happened today I'd be OK, because of my preps. You guys should consider prepping for solar or wind for your house and van. Not those crooks who come and trap everyone in debt but a DIY kit you can do yourself. Heck if I can do it you guys can. Just be aware not to announce what you have or the people near you who havent prepared will be at your door when it all falls apart. God speed

Great topic, I just turned 60 & currently an onsite manager, but trying to save & plan for what's next. But you're so right, everyrhing is uncertain & we don't know what the powers and principalities have planned for us next. I made my car a camper were I to lose my position (which I thought I might for not taking the jab, but that passed). But there may not be any gas to move it! Money may be worthless. So I'll keep trying to prepare best as I can & remember, if all I have left is my faith, that's still all that matters & my Heavenly Father has always provided.

We too are On Site managers and had plans for a onsite ministry to help others on a farm but things didn't turn out as planed. Now we are looking for our own place to live out our lives. Still hoping and praying that God will provide. WE are now up in age and not able to build a house etc.

Thanks Bill and Elizabeth. I watch all your videos and I am 72 heading for 73. My boys are in their mid and late 40’s my grandson (only one) turned 18 Aug 5, just got his driver’s license. I have lived my life and I worry about my boys and grandson and since we are in our early 70’s this whole situation has me terrible but I live everyday and go on with my life and have prepped. We are too old to burn wood and I wish I knew how to get water out of our well if our electricity is down. I have stockpiles of water to flush the toilet but drinking water we have in our well. My heart is read to face the end. I have friends dying around that are my age and this is scary. We are heading into the end times and must be ready. I love listening to you both. My parents are gone of course but thank you for your videos. I grew up on a dairy farm put don’t have the endurance I once had and my oldest lives in York, PA and my youngest will be moving with his wife to South Carolina so I feel very alone and am scared. Dear Elizabeth and Bill I’ve been watching your channel since the beginning. I have to say many of the things you say make a whole lot of sense even for folks that may not be of the Christian faith. I am Jewish and I can relate with a lot things that you present. We may be people of different faith but we all should have a common goal as to live as one and inherently respect each other as equals, or we’ll destroy ourselves. The result of our current societal unrest is yet to be determined. The only entity we have absolute authority over is ourselves. If each of us works individually to be better than we were yesterday, every day, the world around us has no choice but to improve - because we are the world. As we get better, it will too and this applies both on the spiritual level and the physical world we live in.

I follow several KZbinrs from the UK. They all, individually, have shared major concerns of the rising heating costs coming this winter. One says that in addition to the stupid energy cost increases they are paying now, another 80% increase is coming in October. They gave very real concerns of freezing this winter. Many say they will either eat or stay warm but doing both, for some anyway, will be possible. Also, prepping I'm the UK is not common. Pray continually for those folks.

I appreciate this video SO MUCH!!! You have touched on everything that has been on my mind. I have been struggling, living between the two perspectives. You have people on one hand who are living carefree and in the moment, which can be dangerous, and you have people who are hardcore prepping channels who preach doom and gloom, and that can be dangerous as well. Neither camps have spoken heavily about the spiritual aspect. The churches are avoiding the subject matter altogether. The prosperity message is all they want to talk about. I have family, who think I am fanatical because I want to make sure we are all ok, physically and spiritually, but it’s a lost cause. At times, while watching KZbin, it feels like you can't do enough fast enough, to prepare, but the holy spirit showed me is the difference between panic prepping and peaceful prepping... Trusting the Lord in all things. It has really made all the difference. Bottom line, prepare for heaven and tell others about Jesus, so they can experience the great love of the Father. Panic prepping and peaceful prepping. Well said. Panic prepping is when you go buy EVERYTHING on the shelf. That’s called hoarding. Peaceful prepping is buying a little at a time so you don’t put undo pressure on the supply system. Unfortunately, I think this collapse is imminent. So if you haven’t been peaceful prepping already, panic prepping might be the only thing left. Always relying, of course, in the fact that Jesus is our ultimate provider and protector!

We have been attempting to prepare for any scenario with a tiny income. Paid the medical bills off and have been working to pay the mortgage completely off. It isn't easy, but the Lord wants us to be prepared and not just acting like the world is just going to keep going on. We are to be watchful and be seeking God's direction. Thanks for sharing this. When you talk about your strokes... it's so true.Only He numbers our days. What a new level of trust something like that will bring us to! I became very ill with just a gastrointestinal virus for almost full week. just as I started recovering from that, Iwoke up next morning having chest pains and called for ambulance and was told I'd had a heart attack! I'm a 42 year old mom (fairly fit and health conscious) of 6 with a young active family and we have a homestead and the doctors were surprised as I really didn't "fit the profile" at all. It turns out I have pericarditus and some extra fluid around my heart right now caused from the inflammation caused figting the GI virus. While in the hospital for my heart, I caught cOVid. lol. Mercy! I have faith, but nowhere near the level I had hoped it was at because I will admit, I also had fear. God kept me here for now and I am grateful and in this He has blessed me with a beautiful shift in perspective.

We fool ourselves that what we think is a gentle routine, has really never really been “normal.” Life is always reflecting sudden change. You are both wise. I’m older than you and not an organized religious human being, but I respect your right to your deep beliefs. For me being kind, having little bigotry, living simple - always have, no debt, eating quality but little (not much is really needed). We need some government, but we can never depend on it. I have personally found all kinds of corruption in organized churches as well as non denominational churches. Satan is fighting hard to keep us in his grasp so we don't join on the side of truth and right. This video came up in my feed and really enjoyed watching it as well as reading the comments. I am 65 and retired from a 44 year R.N. career a year ago. This was two years earlier than I originally planned. I won't bore you with the details, but like many healthcare workers I could not get a medical exemption from getting the vax despite having valid health issues. Although I was not forced out of my job I knew it was time to go. My husband who is my 2nd husband as I was suddenly widowed from my 1st husband 21 years ago retired 2 years from his job as a kitchen designer. Not only has my faith in God helprd me navigate through these turbulent times, having had 2 now late parents who grew up poor as church mice during the Great Depression taught me the value of being as debt free as possible as well as having a profession that I could be totally self supporting if need be. When my 1st husband died when I was 44 having a paid off mortgage at that time which took lots of hard work to accomplish along with having my decent salary job working for the VA paid the bills, provided my health insurance, and if I put in 20 service years I would retire with a pension which would greatly help fund my retirement. My 2nd husband and I both conservative felt led by God after I retired to sell our home in R.I. and relocate to the land of the free Florida. Our home sold in a day this past spring for $50k over asking which with no mortgage to pay off allowed us to cash buy a smaller new retirement home in The Villages a 55+ community in Florida and still had $$ left to put in the bank for a rainy day. We feel exceptionally blessed to have been able to do this and are now living a pretty simple and content life amongst like minded people which most hold our values of love of God, love of family, and love of country. Wish you both the best as you too journey through your golden years like we are, and never forget that despite the difficulties we face living in this fallen world we were all appointed by God to be here at this time and we need to have trust in God to direct our steps to fulfill His will.
