Great content. New subscriber. I am a Zimbo from Bulawayo and visit home every year for the past 33 years that I have been away. Despite some challenges I love Zimbabwe and plan to return permanently soon.

Great Vid. You should try the local stuff, like gango, and go kwa Mereki or Zindoga. I realised that's the things I miss when I'm not in Zim rather than the fancy restaurants

I left Zim 13 years ago. I get terrified at the thought of coming back permanently, although i want to. The economic downfall was very traumatic for me.

Well said. I haven’t met a Zimbo who don’t want to return, but it’s a bit scary.

Don't be scared to return. Zimbabwe is a great place to live. I go back every year after living in the diaspora for 33 years lived in six countries and visited over 60 countries. But Zimbabwe has the best quality of life in my opinion. Just plan carefully for your return in the future.

Thank you for the video Lea! You mentioned that you've taken Shona classes online. Where did you find them? I want to learn some Shona, but haven't been able to find many good resources here in the US! Any website or app recommendations would be great! :)

Question. So whats your job? I see you work from home. How are expat salaries these days?. What does your husband do? What are monthly wages like for expats and in what job?. I was born in Rhodesia, we left in the early 80s for obvious reasons. I would think about returning now that Mugabe is gone and bring investment but I think its still shady and the economy/government control of the economy is still shit house. Your thoughts please. Regards from this old Plumtree boy.

Great content and detail., .. so what inspired you to move back from PA, knowing the poor political climate and terrible governance?? Zimbabwe was definitely a great place to live back in the 90’s - everything used to work well, roads were good, electricity, water was available all the time. Years of corruption have eroded everything basically. I commend you both for going back . Well done and good luck.

Thanks so much for watching! We both felt it was important to have this time in our lives where I got to live and learn how he grew up, spend time with family, etc. as well as visas and immigration were much easier this side for us to be together! Zim truly is magical ✨

My wife is from Wexford PA and I’m Zimbabwean/British. We were there in 2018 and 2019 and I’ve been returning a lot since then. She loves Zimbabwe especially Kariba. We got engaged at Victoria Falls. When we come there, (which we come a lot 6 times in 24 months) we stay in Arundel with an easy walk to Arundel shopping center and enjoy a bottle of wine at the wine store right there. Great vlog and continue to enjoy the country. Well done!
