I stopped drinking alcohol when I was 26 years old. In June 2022 - I will be 49 years old. I used to binge drink in my early 20's and then decided to try for a baby so I quit. Never really missed it. Since I was 26 I have got married and have had 2 children. I have a very active social life and love going to parties and to pubs. I have been celebrating loads of 'big 50th birthdays' in recent months. It's never been an issue or a problem. I have never felt pressured to drink by anyone either. I love mocktails, St Clements (oj and lemonade) and diet coke this is what I drink qhen I go out. I join in the fun and have a good time qhen I am out woth family and friends.

I've been 95% sober over a few months and having a drink now is like putting a hammer to my shin. Before I even down a pint I can already feel the hangover the following morning. I also realised how much of an impact it has for a number of days afterwards. I come from a family of heavy social drinkers and couldn't see the point in being sober even just a few months ago. My anxiety and depression were becoming too much of a burden and so the drink had to go. But i would recommend it to anybody. The money you save can go towards your next trip to Kazakhstan...

I don't drink often because my mum died through the alcohol it took over my mum's life and she drank everyday she died 3 years ago that's why I don't hardly drink
