As an American living in a mid to low cost area, the prices of these things still blow my mind. I shop at a lower budget grocer and a bag of frozen veg is still more like $3 alone. When I was 20 I was living on canned ravioli, sliced cheese, and an arizona tea. Cost me around $2-3. But I will say, seasoning makes a world of difference for something like this. Basic seasoning you should keep around is salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. These 4 things in various combinations can improve most dishes.

Tips on the porridge/oatmeal 😝 (bc I’ve been through this before 😭) : - pay attention to the oatmeal while it’s in the microwave because it tends to rise up and overflow in the bowl - stir it for about 30 seconds - then put it back to heat up for about 1 min and 30 seconds - repeat this until the oats start to look full (instead of flat and dry like how they were before) - i usually add honey and sugar so you can try that as well if you’d like - now, you enjoy!

@@mendesarmy1235 I think it’s a bit of a misconception sometimes that people on benefits are lazy, don’t think about food planning etc. Of course there are some people like that, but I think it mostly comes down to convenience buying a £1 pizza from the shops as it’s easy and quick food, but isn’t something that’ll last a few days in comparison to a bag of pasta for example. Poetry Prints suggestions: Write it in your handwriting, make it digital and print copies of it, instead of printing the quotes in Computer Fonts. It makes it more authentic I believe..

Nice video. To make the banana pancakes a little better, you can add cinnamon or cardamom to the flour, and if you want them fluffier, about a quarter of a teaspoon of baking soda or baking powder and a pinch of salt, or a little (half a teaspoon) of vanilla extract and/or a few tablespoons of yogurt to the mashed banana. Little things like onions and garlic add a lot of flavor, and a little bit of garlic goes a long way. Also dried onion, garlic powder, chilli, Italian seasoning, or a little bit of soy sauce or vinegar helps add flavor. Some supermarket store brand products are the same as branded because the supermarket's distributor buys from the same manufacturer.

In Canada, 10$ of grocery could get you maybe 3-4 things at the most omg
@Harrison_J_T3 жыл бұрын
10 Canadian dollars is only £5.75 so between the 3 shops Taz spent closer to $20. Also she bought the majority in Lidl and Aldi which are budget supermarkets and even then she seemed to be choosing the cheapest options. If she had done her whole shop in Morrisons or somewhere like Tesco or Asda it would have cost a lot more.

@@Harrison_J_T the exchange rate doesn’t matter. What matters is that in Canada you can’t shop for THAT MUCH food with only 10$ even at discounted stores Pft.
@essiessiessi3 жыл бұрын
Right?! That amount of food would've cost at least 20 euros in Finland
@BabzProductions3 жыл бұрын
@@essiessiessi true, but we pay for it massively in other services and haven't gotten close to the infrastructure modeled in Canada. We have been living in austerity here for many many years. Put simply if food isn't available that cheap here, at least half the population (if not more) would be struck terribly - putting pressure on drained resources. Its the only part of living here that isn't sub-par. All that said I totally appreciate where your coming from

on the "does the kitchen affect how much you cook?" question : YEAP. I always thought that I loved cooking until I moved to a house with a smaaall kitchen and I almost didn't cook for a year and a half.

This was great Taz. As a fellow it takes forever to cook person, I have afew tips to help things along; 1. Get a couple of tools. You mashed the potato with a fork, a masher will help. It's quicker to toast bread in a toaster, the oven takes forever. 2. You need liquid in a blender, that's why you had so much trouble with the hummus! 3. Multitask when cooking. It very much looks like you are doing some things step by step when you can do them at the same time. 4. Speed will come, especially if you can get quicker at prep. Hope this is actually helpful!

I learned to cook porridge in the microwave without overflowing through trial and error. First of all, use boiling water and let porridge sit for 3-5 minutes before cooking. Cook for whatever time you need, depending of your microwave settings, but in 30 seconds intervals. Adding sugar somehow helps too.

GIRLLLL I really love u but the way you made that hummus 😱 u have to add some oil and water to make it creamy and some salt and pepper at least. On everything else you've done a good job 👏👏
