As a sufferer of aniexty and depression,I get the daunting task of clearing and tidying up... My advice is don’t have lots of little jobs on the go at once.. Do a job and finish it,sense of achievement and accomplishment is amazing and uplifting. And don’t do a huge list of all the jobs, that looks daunting again. List by room and stick the list up and leave it in the room.then tick off as each job is completed. I lived in a tiny house and it always looked worse that a normal size house. You will get there and you will get back to not being snowed under by stuff. One day at a time and one job at a time.

... have to agree with you ... one job a day is plenty ... if it has to get done ... put it on the list ... I'll get to it ... that's how retirement works as well ...

There are days when I wonder why I even bother. Thankfully, they are few and far between. Still, when it happens, it swallows the good and everything seems dark. I know it will pass, so I grit my teeth and bear it. It takes courage to own up to it, especially so publicly as you have. Respect to you, Robbie.

Hey Robbie, so glad you made this Vlog. You touch a community of people with your vlogs and there’s not a single one of us who haven’t had crappy times on our boats - and for you to be honest enough to say ‘hey, crappy time over here’ is refreshingly open and honest ......... and real. You’ll get through it with the help of your CI Crew and don’t be too bloody independent because that’s a recipe for more pain when there’s willing help available. (I must listen to my own advice sometimes). So chin up and keep being real and interesting. Cheers

Good to see how positive people are about you Robbie, such is love and appreciation for a job well done. My contribution is when next in Wickes, buy a mini roller set with gloss rollers for a couple of quid. Much more satisfying to paint with, faster and a better overall finish. You can keep your little brush for smoothing out wherever you get a run. You can store the dirty roller in clingfilm or a plastic bag for a day or two, or even clean it with white spirit to reuse. Liked the holding tank stuff, I recently bought a meter for mine which pushes into a rubber bung squeezed into a hole I drill in the inspection plate and will fit it after thursday's pump out..

Chin up old chap! Making a list is an awesome start - I find I dont have to think about jobs once they are on the list so can then concentrate on what I should be doing rather than running over the list in my mind. Hi Robbie, it's awful seeing such a generally happy and positive bloke weighed down by several major issues coming at once, but you'll get through it soon. I've enjoyed all your videos and I think you're the most humourous and characterful narrowboat vlogger out there, and I'm sure your vids have cheered up lots of people over the last few years. I do wish you got a bit more back from all this than you do, but I hope you keep up your content anyway, I will be only one of many who would really miss these light hearted insights into your boating life. One thing I would say is that I was thinking about a pump out loo, but this is not the first problem I've heard about with corrosion and pipes etc, and when they go wrong they can be very challenging to fix up. So I've decided to go composting, on the basis that there is very little smell involved, you only have to empty 'solids' once per month or so (sorry for the graphic reference there folks), and liquids every few days- but even the liquids are a lot less unpleasant to deal with than cassettes. Anyway, leave the painting for now- that's just superficial - and focus on fixing the problem that is causing most disruption, so you can get your bedroom back. Cheapest thing might be to buy a cheap cassette to get you through a few weeks, whilst arranging a visit from a boat toilet repairer. Maybe cover the tank over, set up the bed, use a cassette for now, and maybe even head for the Midlands in the meantime, where there'll be a few boatyards with the expertise you need.

I'm sorry to hear you are feeling overwhelmed but you know, it's kind of refreshing to see real life. Some narrow boat videos depress me a bit because life is portrayed as utterly perfect and when your own life is less than perfect it can make you feel a bit....you know. So to see someone being real well, it's realistic. I hope things get better for you and you get things sorted. Love your videos.

Hi Robbie. Stay strong. Shitty feelings & life in general can always hurt anyone & make you feel down. Stick to those lists, just do one at a time when you can & enjoy ticking them off when done. It's simple but sometimes helps me. Keep on vlogging mate. Rog in Sheffield. X

Shit, hate seeing you down like this mate, you’re always so upbeat and always cheer me and the other half up when we watch your vids I always though iCloud storage from apple a bit expensive I use Microsoft’s One Drive, you get 1TB of storage free with Microsoft office subscription, about £70 a year I think Look forward to future cheery vids

Robbie....your vlogs are always great to watch....you owe the 'watchers' nothing, I'm sure nobody is as stressed about the lost footage as you are....we will see where you are up to when you can. Give yourself a break, stay in a marina for a bit and enjoy the facilities! Look after yourself and just accept that you are low for a while....things will improve in their own time, sometimes it just takes time. Thanks as always for making the effort to vlog but if you can't for a while you are not letting anyone down!' Be as kind to yourself as you are to others....take it easy mate....

Ahhh...don't beat yourself up so! We live and learn, and ponder how we could have done better. Sometimes we just lose track of what's important...these things are not tragedies. Just stop; make a list of everything, in order of priority, and knock it out... And perhaps you may need to rethink Apple, opt for Android...😏 In the meantime, start getting yourself together and ready your boat for winter! And just make movies after each accomplished task. You'll be fine. Besides, I'm learning how cool it is to live on a canal boat, and enjoying seeing life through your eyes Cheers!

From one Robbie to another, I promise you are not alone. I've had to miss a year of boating for LOTS of similar issues. Just concentrate on what has to be done and ignore all those you'd like done. You've done the right thing taking a mooring. Read Marie Brown's book Narrow Margins and you'll see the joy of leaking holding tanks is not unique to NaughtyLass!

Hey Robbie, I know this is a late response to an older video but I just wanted to say that I hope you're in a better place today. Streamline life of stress n shit and worry about the important stuff only. Keep on cranking my friend 👍

Hang in there Robbie, we love your vlogs. Pretty sure you'll get to the end of your "to do" list with the help of your crank it crew. Good luck with the holding tank! (not sure we're looking forward so much to that particular vlog 🤢)

Chin up Robbie Lad. Crack on with the painting whilst the weather is good. Every time you walk up-to Naughty Lass from a distance, you will get a sense of achievement and feel good when you see the new paint job. Remember to get some steel wool and rub down in between coats for that high gloss finish :)

I am reminded of the advice in Dave Allen's book 'Getting Things Done' which is to take care of the dog food first. What he means by that is that all projects are bottom up. In your case you can't keep making videos when the boat is not working well.

As a boat sitting boatless boater wannabe with ups and downs I've enjoyed your vlog from the start. Just cuz you tell it like it is, good and bad. I can so relate to how overwhelming planning, prioritising and find out where to start can be. But what I've to the contrary of what many have said here. Is that lists stress me out even more. I choose one thing, ignore the rest and concentrate fully on that one task now a days. And it actually works a little better. Perhaps not as fast as I might want it to. But there's where giving yourself a break comes in. Unless you're sinking, it's fine to take a little me time. And forgive yourself for being a little slow. Things do go in waves. And yes, this too shall pass. I for one think your vlog is great. 🍻
