LOVE, love the snippets of real talk and *human interactions* that we get on your channel Jack. Hearing people having authentic conversations and sharing their feelings, perspectives, and opinions is powerful for any successful YT channel. You've talked openly and honestly in the past and that’s what makes your channel interesting and the best! Your younger brother’s channel desperately lacks that and why it seems boring for more mature people. Although he’s good with the camera, he’s guarded and obviously finds it hard to be motivated. Jadyn is always fun to watch because she’s just naturally open to share what's on her mind and what's happening around her. We've always appreciated the open talks from your family and dad as well. Hearing his thoughts on debt was good today. Glory is doing a good job of bravely finding her way and authentically sharing that. Just remember that the best content is hearing real open conversations or authentic individual thoughts about life from other’s perspective especially if their lives and experiences are so different than our own because we all can learn from that. I'm sure that you enjoy that as well when traveling. Keep up the good work Jack and don't fall into the trap of *trying* to create a video every week or trying to make up stories or dramatize events just to create content. *Just do you!* 🇺🇸

This means a lot to me. I do believe vulnerability and being open about things is the key to success. Especially if you can make a visually appealing and engaging video. Of course that looks different to everyone, but being relatable and asking thought provoking questions looks the same.

Wealthy people borrow money and pay interest ALL THE TIME. While it's very unwise to use credit to keep up with the Joneses, You can really get ahead in life if you use credit wisely. Take sailing advise or even directional drilling advise from Kieth, but not credit utilization or credit building advise.

@@jackwhitakerr You've got a great family and I think your parents are doing a great job raising you kids to be great adults. Just keep in mind that they don't know everything. Nobody does. Much of what they tell you is their own opinions. Possibly right, possibly wrong. Hopefully, they're teaching you to look at things objectively and when you see evidence that's contrary to what you believe or you have been taught, look at the evidence with an open mind and be willing to change your beliefs based on new factual evidence. While I think his advice on credit was absolute garbage (lol), I wish I had a dad as great as Kieth seems.

What Keith said about credit is mostly true. It depends on how you define high credit score. Just paying down credit cards on time will put you in the mid 700s. Which I consider a good credit score. To get 800 or above early in life you need to have a triple A qualified loan like a home mortgage and pay on that for several years. There are a ton of other factors like if you’re carrying single A or low quality credit lines that will bring it down. If you have very few credit lines that will bring it down. My uncle rented his entire life had a single credit card that he payed one time for over 30+ years and in his 70s he ended up with a 800+ credit score. The highest credit I had was above 800 *after* I owned a home and sold it after 6 years of ownership and only had two credit card lines. So you can have extremely high credit without paying interest to a bank
@Faceman28 Жыл бұрын
Have your dad check his credit score…I would bet it’s around 800.
@trollol_ Жыл бұрын
what keith said is false. i have 800+ and just make payments on monthly expenses. no mortgage no big loan. never had a mortgage or big loan. so it's not what keith says. keith is also a big red neck (you know it's true not hating) just keep that in mind when he starts to bloviate.
@Missmellie10 Жыл бұрын
Agreed. When I had bad credit, I was counseled to get a low limit credit card, buy gas with it, and pay it off right away before interest accrued. My credit was built, and the bank didn't get my interest. I was then able to qualify for a mortgage. Yes, the bank is getting my interest now, but I'm not paying someone else to live in their house. I now may be able to leave something to my children.
@patchoulilavalamp Жыл бұрын
@jhardknox what he said isn't "false" its possible to have a credit score over 800 with just paying them off, but majority of people who achieve 800 are people who have proven they are credit wise, and only 21% of america has over 800, majority being people who have assets/ have a mix of credit under their name, so he's not wrong, he's just saying the proven fastest way to increase credit score

If rent is costing you you the same as a monthly mortgage payment. You might as well have a mortgage so you can start to own equity in a house. By renting constantly, you don't get any equity in return. However, today interest rates are high, so it wouldn't be the best time to buy a house or take out a loan. And house prices are skyrocketing, not everyone can just plop down 500k cash down for a house.

That's not true Keith. I work in banking. As long as use your card $1 or $10000/month, so long as u pay on time... it's the same. What lowers ur credit score with Equifax or Transunion is if you have idle credit products OR your balance is always near max 80-100% of limit. Keith is exactly right. You pay cash. Now, in my opinion, you can get a loan for a house (a house is not a boat you live on) but there are rules. You have to put at least 20% down and hopefully more than 20%. But everything else, you pay cash for. That means you drive a crappy car when you are young. You do not get a loan for toys such as a boat of any kind. You don’t get a loan for the boat you are sailing around the world in. And, you pay off your credit cards every month. When it is time to retire, you will be very happy you followed these rules. Oh, and you need to save money and invest it. That is how you have money in the future. Yes, when you are young, you need to do this the most. This gives your money the most opportunity and time to grow. Tell Keith I said he is awesome. The dude is the man.
