She is growing up so fast on us and my heart wasn’t ready but I digress she deserves all the love and happiness in the world for the extraordinary woman she is and yet to become. My mother used her wedding dress to make a christening gown for myself and brother ! It’s mine now and it’s so gorgeous but sadly I can’t have children but I’m hoping my partners children will use it! But what a beautiful idea I thought. I know it took a lot to to cut into her dress but like she said it would only get mothsballs up in the attic. This was back 1970 s and 80’s before you all come at me for saying about mothballs when we can buy packaging to stop that happening! Just an idea for your dress and veil or one of them. X❤

Grack I'd highly recommend getting Wrens Kitchen round to measure your kitchen. We wanted to knock a wall down to make our kitchen open plan but once they drew the plans up for us with the extra area, we realised it wasn't worth the haste. Taking the wall down naturally means far less cabinet and wall space overall. It's free and a great experience to go in store and design! Much love ♥.

Traditional for my family and Ireland, the wedding dress would be made into the first child's christening gown. The veil you can put along with your shoes in a 3d frame 😊x

I kept my veil and dress, not expecting any of my four daughters to wear it necessarily, but the ring bearer pillow at my wedding was made from my grandmas dress and the flower girl basket decorated with lace from it. So keeping it in case they want to do something like that with it :)

Put a little honey in the lemon and ginger hot water --- it really helps the sore throat vibe and is antiseptic ... and makes it taste batter too. As for curtains that are too long, raise the curtain rod. It makes the room look taller.

Something I learned was to just adjust the height of your curtain pole to make your curtains the right length. Raise it to lift them from the floor or lower it (as far as possible to not show top of window frame) to make curtains hang lower to floor. Easier than adjusting curtains or keep changing wrong kength in shop 👍

A tip for refurbing housing, strip the walls down and ignoring the flooring as a colour influence. Do a base white or white wash if newly plastered, after a strip down. My walls were influenced by the colour of the old beige carpet. Our self built L shaped sofa + king size sofa bed that we bought, was a great choice in chocolate brown for a black/ brindle dog and a baby/ toddler now child. Removing the velcro covers and washing them, may have removed the smell and stains but the memories or vomits, wee, dog poo and plastercine baby poo freed, will stay engraved in my memoirs! lol Top buy i would say 9 years on! We have a corner crack on one of the mdf slates, from a child using it as a trampoline park. Matress is a bit thin but we saved our old Argos sofa bed mattress. Was great for a "TV night" downstairs. The other part of the L bit was unaffected by the sofa bed and is ideal for kids sized bed and more stable than the hammock style spring of the sofa bed. Another space i allow is setting up our beach tent in the living in the colder months. We chuck a kids size sofa bed in there. It is a double, with legs hanging out at the end. I got our kid into Minecraft and then MCC. Tent nights are great if i have to hook up the laptop to watch our favourite family friendly streamers. If on YT, we can watch it in our bedroom and they get to sleep in our bed as a treat with me until Daddy squashes us and snores! lol I love open spaces for us to rearrange things on the fly and not have an IG chair in a space that looks good but isn't practical.

We started with our bedroom. We needed to get one room where we could live. Then we did our kitchen, we knocked down the we between the “back room” & the old kitchen to have a kitchen diner and I am in love. We still have a living room in the front of the house which I love.

With regards to your veil - I am getting married next year and I really wanted to wear something old. Amazingly, I had the choice of my mums or my grandmas veil, one is ivory, the other white so either way I could wear something that meant so much to me. Also, my grandma unfortunately passed away so it means even more now! Don't sell it, keep it for future weddings, it may mean so much to future children/grandchildren!

On vinted you can change your postage options in settings! So you can send all the orders through just one place. I have an inpost locker near me so I just turned off all the other options! Now when someone buys something I can always just send it from there xx

I know this is a bit after the question, but keep the veil. I kept my dress and veil, and when my daughter got married last year, she could only use the veil. Like you, I was very thin and small, and I'm also short. She was never going to be able to wear my dress, so the veil was the only thing she could use. We were both very glad there was something she could wear from my wedding.

Return the curtains, get the long ones and ask your mum to sew trim them and use the sowing machine to tidy them up, custom curtains are so expensive!

Save the veil in careful packaging, maybe in a box with paper and then seal that in plastic, if you want to keep it well enough to pass it on. The dress may be more in the way in storage and the chances of a daughter fitting into your size is small. You can always make a dress a bit smaller but bigger is often impossible. But a veil will always fit.

I want to explain the M&S sale. It’s all to do with Christmas stock so all the food halls have moved everything around and some stores that are smaller than others needed to get rid of certain lines to make room for Christmas stock. Hence the cheap prices. The bigger stores didn’t need to get rid of as much stuff so the bargains were more limited. I hope that makes sense

Oh poor love Grace, it's really going around this sore throat, post-nasal and sometimes going to the chest, bronchitis. Perhaps, get a corticosteroid to dry up the post-nasal and some paracetamol for headaches or body/joint pain. Also, most important get rest 🛌 ps. Love the armchair and could do with a new one at the practice, giving me ideas❤

If the curtains are too long you can either move the pole up the required amount or else use iron on double sided tape (vylene) to re hem the curtains with no sewing.

33yrs married still have wedding dress and veil, my mum cut up her wedding dress for communion dresses for me and my sister, she still has her veil which I would have used it but it was wrong shade of white. I should have used mine as a Christening robe as I don't think my daughter will want it.
