Great video Al. It's nice to see places and roads I know so well. I grew up in Dorset and found the quickest thing to ride from Weymouth to Lyme Regis was an RS250 Aprilia. Shame they don't make weapons like that anymore.

That banger road from crewkerene to Axminster you was talking about is a good road but not in the winter it’s covered in wet leaves you should go from there to bridport and take the back road ( abbortsbury road ) to Weymouth now that’s a banger ;)

I've got a question, since you're hooked up with KTM: until the 2019, you could chuck a set of 17s in the Enduro and yeah, OK, the forks/shock and brake caliper were different, but you were basically there. Muddy stuff at the weekend, wheelie/commute to work - lovely. This year, the SMC's got road mode, race mode, and cornering ABS, and the Enduro's got street and dirt, and cornering ABS. So what do I have to do to put 17s in the Enduro and still have the toys work? Change ECU as well? Something else? I'd really like to be able to SM the Enduro...help me out Al.

That's the issue. Whereas before they were essentially the same bike, now the electronics ensure they're two very different bikes. Most will opt for the Enduro and 17s, as the SMC R won't be as good off-road. Ultimately, you can turn everything off so the Enduro is the best option

Sweet, I love seeing people on KZbin on the roads I rip about on with my MT125. My usual commute is on two thirds of the Lyme to Crewkerne road and back and it is fucking amazing. Blackdown scares the shit out of me when you encounter the four corners with gravel on them, but otherwise, it's a spectacular road, Definitely, one of the best "quick blast" roads I know of. Another good one is Axminster to Lyme or even West Bay. Just be careful of speed cameras and the nasty cop placements on the nicer corners

Please don’t listen to ktm manual on breaking in bike, I did and now I’m having issues with oil burning. 690’s like to be ran hard all the time, I can’t imagine a 2019 would be vastly different in that way then a 2018. My advice, you don’t have to listen but I wish someone had told me

I miss those wonderful Somerset country lanes. 7:56 that's why those f**king coppers doing speed traps (instead of stopping real crimes) are dangerous. Small road and two cars barely moving to avoid getting caught, cars coming up at what is a safe (but illeagle) speed cause all sorts of havoc as they have to slam on the breaks, Those roads are good for at least 40 with 60 being realistic and safe until caravan season.

I like that road, but if you head towards chard and turn off left just after cricket st Thomas then that way the Lyme Regis is better (for faster bikes)
