Omg I am not alone in this. But I have 2 kitten. Two times craziness and I am a single catmom 🤪 they are 6 month now and I barely see them sleeping. In the Night they do, but when I need to go to the bathroom they immediately zoom to me 😂 and I play with them as much as I can. In the Morning 30 minutes. In the afternoon I go into the garden with them, and in the nighttime I play 1 hour. they have an interactive board, cat trees. I do aggility training with them... but still they are zooming through the house 😂

After my 20 year old passed away last year, I got two female kittens. They are extremely hyper and they tire each other out. Put your breakables away and take down your nice drapes and curtains. A year later, I am still waiting to put my nice curtains back up and get my nice decor out. I have several cat trees and scratching posts all over the house. They have tons of toys, yet their favorite toy is water bottle caps. If they hear you open a water bottle, they come running and wait for you to set it down and steal it. They sound like a herd of elephants running through the house. It can get quite crazy. I’ve watched them use my husband’s bald head as a launching pad. Every day is a new adventure. I would recommend to anyone who is getting a kitten to get two. I won’t lie, it can get pretty crazy at times, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. They are my babies ❤️❤️.

Hi Shilpa i have a kitten about 3 or 4 months old and she attacks my feet and hands a lot too. How long did it take for your cat to stop biting? I try to distract her with toys when she stalks my feet but I find myself losing my patience really quickly because I thought it would work much faster.

I asked this question because I wanted to be sure that I am not doing anything wrong for which you can see in Jackson response .. he did give few tips of the timing of distracting Simba by observing his body language. I took the simple steps- remain consistent with his play session.. he had a lot of everything which I can see now has decreased(he is 1 year old now). I also started training him and took him outside with me in my backpack and sometime in harness and leash and he started enjoying that. It also exhaust his energy and he also got stalking and hunting session in wild😂 didn’t hunt anything but enjoyed stalking birds squirrel bunnies.

@@Etern1tyOne I adopted them both on the same day. They were 3 months and 4 months old. I had an appointment to meet Sunny my orange girl and while walking to her cage, saw this little grey boy ( Stormy ) SO TERRIFIED he was literally sitting in his cage shaking while the rest of his litter was sleeping 🥺 So of course I had to take him 😅 The first 2 days there was a lot of hissing and growling and swatting at each other but on day 3 they were friends. Stormy needed a lot of nurturing to build his confidence and as a human I can only do what I can do, but Sunny being a cat can do what I can’t, and she helped me with him. I’m tearing up as I’m writing this because I don’t think she realizes how much she helped me with Stormy. Now Stormy is super confident and I can’t imagine not having both of them. We’re like a little family.

Everyone kept saying oh find them somewhere else to live I said no and im so glad I did, cats are so special I don't ink I could ever not have a cat in my life. Watching my two 6-month old kittens go at it, I can only recommend getting a pair. It's honestly LESS work, because they play hours per days with each other and don't let out their energy out on you. My boys have very rarely "attacked me" out of nowhere, because they have each other to do that. And really, humans can never ever substitue another cat. If you watch to kittens play fight and hunt each other, you will understand.
@jrwheeler81
@jrwheeler81 3 жыл бұрын
You are correct. It is definitely ideal if you can get two kittens, especially if you work a lot or are away from home a fair bit of the time. Cats are very social animals and having a buddy can be the best thing for them. It also gives them a playmate and they can tire each other right out.

My adopted rescue fur baby had three little boys for a gift to me hidden beside her heart. They are now seven months old and just beginning to temper the activity. They love each other and play 50% of the time, sleeping, eating and bird watching inside the catio take us to mommy time. Long shift work can be a very lonely time for kitty. Companionship helps tremendously 😻
@fleurjoesten

I agree with this 100%. I got two baby kittens last week, sisters, who are seven months old and I cannot imagine only having 1. I see the way that they interact with each other, play with each other, love each other, groom each other and chase each other through the house. Imagine being the only one of your kind for 15+ years and having no one like you to communicate with. Thinking about that makes me sad. Really happy that I decided to have two. To be honest it wasn’t really a question for me after doing research and it is a little more work, and a little bit more expensive, but they are living beings in the end and it’s all worth it for their well-being and eventually also my own.

My cat is now 4 years old and still acts like this when she's in an active mood. She's a wild girl and very kitten-like still. She still thinks cords, paper, and hands and feet are toys. I do play with her when she gets wild. But she still prefers to tear around the house when she gets in her wild moods. And she still seems to go for non-toys over her real toys when she's feeling curious.

He started biting me and here what I did: as soon as he was biting my hand, I was replacing my hand with his fav toy. And, I bought him chicken neck because I felt he really wants to bite something. And actually it really worked. All the things Jackson said are absolutely right. And I just would add giving chicken neck to it and never touch his tail area. He will bite you back 😂

I got my little munchkin 3 weeks ago, when she was just 10 weeks old, and she is ever so playful, which is totally adorable and I love playing with her, we play chase, hide and seek, fetch, and play fighting. Problem is that I am not young spring chicken anymore, I'm a grandma with a bad back, and in hindsight, perhaps it was selfish of me to get a kitten, but I really wanted one as a companion, but feel bad that I can't play with her as much as she would like me to. She zooms around the house like bat out of hell, which has made me realise that she really needs a play mate.

I added two kittens from the same litter a couple of years ago. I think that's the only reason my older cats (13, 14 and 20 y/o) were able to tolerate the new babies. I think I'd probably get an older cat (like 8+ y/o) if I were to get a single cat. Cats definitely appreciate other cat company. The kittens still seek me out for playing fetch and love but they burn most of their crazy energy off on each other.

I just don't think people expect it. So many still believe that cats are just quiet, chill creatures that sleep all day, so Kittens are just smaller versions of that, right? 😅 And even when you DO know, sometimes you don't realize what's a toy in a kitten's eyes until you see them playing with it. My cat is constantly trying to chew the tape off of boxes and the metal grate in front of the fireplace. Cords and string? Nah, my cat hunts the tablecloth and blinds 😅 I was actually worried about him when he slowed down because his adult self is far more snoozy

Very important question, if my cat is doing something that annoys me, like chewing on a cable or using me as a toy on my way to the toilet in the middle of the night, wouldn't be throwing a toy for her to catch a rewarding feedback for her bad behaviour?

Unfortunately my 2 month old ragdoll is insane and behaves like he is absolutely on drugs. For this reason I decided to get another kitten that was a 3month old bengal. Who would have thought... Dear lord. The bengal is calm as fuck and is super regal and composed, the ragdoll is high energy and going nuts 24/7. Their personalities are completely flipped. The ragdoll is so energetic that even the bengal kitten cannot keep up with him and gets annoyed at how energetic and rough the other one is. I am at a loss. I really hope that growth and neutering will tamper down the hyperactivity.

I am in the absolute same boat as you!! How crazy. Do you have any updates on how it is going? Cause I’m afraid it’s never gonna get better lol Update from my side: it got better extremely quickly! Maybe another week of separating them until it didn’t work anymore and then they were fine together. Little one is still insane but big one is teaching manners and sometimes they go insane together. 🙈

I found that having a bunch of stuffed mice and balls with bells in them helps a lot. My adolescent cat always seems to want to get crazy when I'm trying to work on the computer and then whenever he gets to out of hand I start throwing toys as far and appealing to a cat as I can. Often I have to go and get them when I run out and repeat, but after doing it a couple times and him running after 20 balls and mice he starts to chill out or enjoy playing with them alone for awhile.

Yay! I think this is my 2022 Christmas present! We have two Siamese , female and male, who tolerate each other. No snuggles. ( 12 years and around 5 years) Along comes Willow the pale ginger female! Five months ish. The energy she has is exhausting. I don’t remember our other kittens being quite so …intense! The Male Siamese, Romeo, is laid back usually and defers to the female Saffy - but neither are interested in playing with the kitten. They sometimes let her dab at their tails - and then cuss her out! 😂 But she’s feisty and carries straight on dabbing at them! This is despite loads of play time. I’m going to try to feed on time instead of ‘on demand’ as we always have before. Fingers crossed 🤞 Thanks Mr Galaxy Cat Daddy!

So, I've been trying to follow the Play, Eat, Cuddle, Sleep rhythm with my 1.5 year old kitty but more often than not, after eating, she's still riled up and has to have some zoomies and explore all the corners of the house before she'll settle down for the night. I'm not sure if she needs longer play sessions or if the food is energizing her instead of helping her power down but I haven't been sure what, if anything I can do about this.

My hyper cat (he's 1.5 years old but about as hyper as your typical 4 month old) is not on the play-eat-sleep schedule. I tried that. He gets his energy burst about 15 minutes AFTER a meal. So, first thing when I start working I give him a puzzle ball with some treats in it. Food + play. I can then check my emails and get my day planned. Then he wants to play. Sometimes he'll play with my 5-year-old cat, sometimes with the big toys (tunnels, ripple rug, ball tracks) I switch out every few days. Sometimes he wants to play fetch. My coworkers have gotten used to seeing me throw little springs and mice during Zoom calls. Around 10:30 he tires a bit, watches birds out the window, and falls asleep on the bench in their "station" by my desk watching me. Then lunch, then some running and wrestling with his brother. Then a nice long nap under the covers on my bed until quitting time. You get a routine, is the point. Whatever one works for you as long as you give them something safe to get their energy out on.

My 4 months cat would wake me up at 3 am to play... I'd get up at 6am play until noon during my vacation. then try to take a shower before she'd tear down the bathroom. between noon and 6 pm she'd slow down but if i was to touch her, she'd curl around and attack my hand to play. Then I'd play with her from 7 pm until 10 pm and I'd still get ninja attacked until 12 pm... She literally has no sleep mode, because when i'm passed out she either plays with her toys, or do some mischief. So that little kitten in the video is quite calm from my recent experience... Now she's 6 months old... i have survived two months of that... my neighbor says she's much more calm now... I have thought about sending her back to the shelter, thinking i just wasn't good enough of an owner (it's my 5th cat, not my 1st). Now trying to find solutions i have bought a ton of things to just try to figure out what she needs, find an output to her energy. I bring her in a backpack when talking a walk, so now everytime i open the door she runs out in the building's hallway and then she's just deliberately running away from me not to get back inside (today she ran straight into my neighbor's appartment, met face to face with her pissed off cat that hissed). She has an exercice wheel, a parkour, a cat tree, tunnels, tons of toys and her favorites are: attacking me and climbing onto the tv.

I do play with my cat, I could play with her for an extended amount of time and get her to the point that she's panting, but its never enough. Once she catches her breath she'll go right back to being a nonstop terror. We have another cat, but she's close to being an adult (1 year) and the energy difference is HUGE. They do play often, but the other cat is laid back and not enough to counter the tiny terror's constant need for attention. We can't handle a third cat.

I had an 8 month old pup and wanted him to have a furry friend but getting another dog wasn't at all practical for me. I got a feral kitten, they bonded instantly! 💞 But as time went on, I noticed the cat was becoming super clingy after I'd be gone with the dog for a while... So I added another kitten. 👍 Problem solved. And the cats play, and play, and play! The new kitten is 6 months old now and doesn't have an off button - a defective model I suspect. 😌 When it is bedtime, she gets put in the guest bathroom (with the door closed!) which has been her home base from day 1. That's the only way the rest of us can sleep. As I'm dozing off, I can hear her bouncing around, jumping from the counter to her cat tree and chasing her ball all around... Seriously, no off button on this little one! 💞

I have 6 cats and and always got them with another baby. I had Pandora and Nina until Nina passed away and Dodora was alone. So she was 3 when I got two kittens: Nala and Rafiki. Nala and Pandora were easy friends,but she had resistance with the male. Rafiki passed away. Two years later Tigre and Bolota showed up into my doorstep and I adopted them. Their adjustment was hard. Sometimes the older ones still hiss and stuff, but nothing aggressive. And a year ago a stray cat delivered 5 babies at my house and she just vanished when they were 8 weeks old. I took care of her and the babies but she just went missing. I gave one to my uncle and kept 3 (one of them died when she moved them from the very cozy environment of my house to the roof 🙄). And Aslam went missing after I spayed him (yes, Aslam was a very feral girl, so yeah, thought she was a boy and turned out to be a girl 🤷🏼‍♀️). So now I have six cats: Pandora (will be nine in november), Nala (will be six in june), Tigre and Bolota (are 4 yo, since I dunno when they were born, just the general year they showed up at my place as kittens, I just celebrate every January 1st hehhehehe) and Minerva and Hermione that turned one January 29.

We actually just took in a stray who I think might be a year old or younger. Hopeful I will know more when she has her first vet visit. We have just had her a week inside and she is super hyper in the mornings after I leave for work which is bad for hubby since he works at home. You gave some great advice. We definitely need to get her on an eating schedule and I need to wear her out before I feed her in the mornings. Unfortunately my hubby can not use a laser for our cat because she will just look at us like we are crazy when we try to get her to chase a laser or a light. But I do have some interactive toys on the way and maybe if I take your advice it will help. I will try anything but getting another cat but would no mind getting a cat friendly dog to go with my cat..LOL

I got home a 3 months kitten ( Indie) from a rescuer. He was found in rain pretty young with no sign of his mother around. He was probably weaned off way too early. 1. He meows and walks around my legs and as I sit down to do my thing he would suck on his nipples and make biscuits. That’s the only time he wants to be close to me or my husband. He sleeps in our hall with his litter box, food and toys in the same room while we are in our bedroom . But throughout the day he spends his time anywhere he wants 2. I put his litter box in a washroom that’s also used as laundry room. He poops in the box but pees next to the water outlet which is slightly wet. So, I’ve put the box outside and now he’s doing both his business in the box. 3. He plays with his toys and in between he comes and attacks us as well. Gets super aggressive with his toys. 4. As we walk around he’d be running towards us would hide behind the curtain or under the furniture keeping an eye on us. Is this all okay?

Honestly what has helped me is taking my cat outside for runs and walks. It tires him out and he'll nom on some catnip before his nap. He's only 7 weeks old but I only let him outside for about half an hour before I can get him vaccinated. Then I'll take him out for longer walks. I'm still training him to not bite my ankles but I know it's just his energy lol. Had to do time out training for him trying to chew cords by letting him sit in the dim bathroom. After about 5 tries he's completely stopped. As well as teaching him to sleep in his own bed instead of on my chest while I sleep due to my allergies. This was a long post lol. Well know you know. Playing with them really helps. What I do is get up early, do my exercises, take him for a walk, play with the feather toy, let him nap while I do my college courses, then we play for 30min again and repeat this process until it's night time and we go outside one last time before going to bed.

Next month should be 1 year old...till January this year when got her sterilised she was a furball on batteries. Got used to feeding schedule, my dad's and my rythm of life. After being sterilsed, carries on geting us both tired of playing and her batteries are still full 🤣 We are taking into consideration to bring another cat home about same age but we have to wait due to the fact she's gonna have kiddens soon-was saved from a park and is in vet carre at the moment. Abouy two months of waiting won't be an eternity. After Hamsi will be ready for adoption...well, hope we are ready to have some hell around till they adjust. Won't be easy still happy to have discovered Jackson on TV first, now on KZbin as well.

I’m a lifelong owner of cats, but recently my fiancée convinced me into adopting our first kitten. I used to avoid kittens because I’ve heard of how they can be big balls of never-ending energy. Our baby boy, Biscuit, is three months old, and I love that sweet lil guy to death but JESUS HOLY BALLS, he is a hyperactive menace 75% of the time. Second night with him in our home, I got very little sleep because he kept attacking my hair, hands and feet. I’m well aware he’s just a baby and wanting to play with me, but it’s still been difficult trying to get him to play with his toys, scratching post, etc. instead of my extremities. He’s nice to my fiancée and rarely ever tries to play with her…but apparently he’s made me his designated “play buddy” 💀 This advice was helpful, I’m hoping Biscuit will calm down in his older years. I’ll use his toys to play interactively with him for sometimes up to an hour or two a day, but he’s dead set on my hands lol. Kittens are a LOT of work (but he’s very worth it.) I’m considering trying to talk my fiancée into letting us get a second kitten, but Biscuit is a little territorial of us.

Despite all the long nights of him keeping her up with the zoomies and her being his favorite parent since she feeds him and spoils him with treats and he rushes to the door to greet her. he sleeps in the bed by her but rest in my lap between the choice of the two of us. I play with him, stimulate his predatory instinct, and get and give good lap nuzzles, even to the point of lightly rubbing my face in his fluffy underbelly. Mommy can be so jelly for some reason.

I play 4-5 times a day with my 7 months old kitten, for 15-20 minutes each time, and I always finish it off with a small meal portion, yet she always wants to keep playing. I ignore her for another 30-ish minutes until she gets too tired and starts grooming and then falls asleep. Sometimes, (a lot of times) she won’t get tired and she’ll actually keep playing on her own but in the destructive way of zoomies, like scratching the furniture or running around everywhere. I’m not sure if I’m playing with her wrong (I use a feather hook toy most of the time because it’s her favorite, but we also use fluffy mouse toys and little balls attached to cords) or if we play too much or not enough, or maybe the problem is breaking down her meals into several small portions, idk what it is, but I’m growing a little frustrated that I can’t figure this out. I work from home, and I’ve been struggling with her energy levels not letting me work for a month now. I could use some advice 🥲

I currently have a 3 yr old kitten. We feed on strict schedule...and have many toys. I like the laser it's great to get them to do long runs, if you can. I stand between our family room and kitchen and hallway to front door and get him to run on 30 foot sprints...this typically tires him out big time...I do this in the evening, like around 9PM...basically gets him tired for us to go to bed.
