This was an informative and entertaining video but why was their not statements on the Polar bear numbers at Churchill now compared to twenty years ago to give us an idea how the population is holding up.

That polar bear jumping out of the truck, slipping on ice, was like, "Oh, I hope nobody saw that ....!"

"It just goes to show you in Churchill You never know when you'll run into a polar bear. It could be out your backdoor." That made me laugh.

It sounds like they havent watched other Polar bear docs. Its worth them watching the documentary where two researchers/ photographers lived in a remote area of Russia with a dog and walked the land with Polar bears andno guns. They used the bear mentality to scare them rather than flairs or guns.

Yeah running with the stick. That was one of the best doc on Polar bear and yet the sad one due to the left alone young Polar bear.

Pitiful if the bear was running off why shot him. Why not ask rangers to get some walrus for the bears you know dam well they starving. I don't enjoy watching this kind of shit. As a matter of fact I stop watching the polar bear all together nothing but amateurs don't give a shit about them bears only want them around for tourists been doing this same shit forever and nothing comes of it. If you love them so much it would not hurt drop off walrus blubber in the wilderness then you wouldn't have to worry about a hungry bear in town after all they were there before you guys.

I'm only speaking out of concern for the bears only. I can't help I don't like what I see sometime. I have a soft heart for animals that are suffering.

Great video, thanks for uploading! I think if they shot more bears they'd get the idea and stay away.

The most adorable bears around, white fluffy and so cuddly ! So cute ! If he loves polar bears so much than shoot it for instead of finding a way to scare it away ? Poor excuse for a human being, anyway can pull the trigger !

Sad polar bear living with this tough community. If the bear hungry give them something to eat. Its easy pizy, They just need food, not that drug or the guns

I don't understand it, why it's so difficult to prevent the bear from coming into town. Now we know the problem is they are starving out there on the ice. With that being said why not help the bears during this starving period, by dropping moose and dear meat out on the ice where they suppose to be that would keep them from being at someone front door. Because they can easily snatch one of our kids, when all they did was open the front or back door. Wouldn't feeding them be better then something horribly happening to someone. I'm just amazed difficult they making it to keep them away. You would be helping the species thrive.

Because they will then become dependent upon it.

as mentioned, by others, they become dependent upon it and they will lose collective knowledge of hunting techniques that are passed on by the Polar Bears that survived.

My family used to go on hunting trips evwry spring. They only killed what they needed. Usually 600 to 800 baby white seals (because you need that many to make only 200 fur coats) Then my ancestors would take the skinless baby seal bodies and soak them in bear poison. The carcasses were piled up near bear families. adult bears would find the meat eat it and die. After the dangerous adult bears were eliminated, the cubs were sold to zoos and private collecters to live in safety
