@@anthonyc8499 I charge it at home, I have a 240V outlet. I charge it once it gets around 35% and I charge it up to 90% to help with battery life and it takes 5 hours. I drive 32 miles daily and it uses about 11% daily. Its giving me according to the car 4.2m/kh. Temperature has been in the high 60's where I live. Its the standard range and its giving me about 280 miles per charge! Way over Ford's specs. The longest distance has been 100 miles one way. Extremely happy with everything in this car, it handles great and it makes you not want to get out of it and keep driving.

I've been driving a Mach-e for 2 weeks, I can't count the times I spot people taking pictures. Lots of questions and comments. I've had people who don't know cars compliment the look. I've had motorheads seem genuinely excited to spot a Mach-e in the wild. I drove a Ford Escape for 7 years, I don't recall anyone taking pictures - unless you count the speed cameras in DC. Maybe Tesla's get the same attention, I don't know, but I think Ford hit a home run with this car.

Your Mach-E was coldgating (battery was not warmed up) which is why it was so slow to charge. Normally, you'd fast charge after hours at freeway speeds. One trick is to yo-yo with hard accelerations and max regen but it's annoying and unsafe driving. A future update will enable battery preconditioning before charging.
@TeslaDo_d3 жыл бұрын
His state of charge was too high on both charging attempt. His range anxiety was affecting the charging tests. He would have seen much faster speeds with a remaining range under 20 miles.

LOL! You need to learn a little more about charging a BEV. Even a Tesla will charge slowly when you are constantly starting at 60% or greater charge in the battery. Try running it down to 10% or less and you will get the full charging speed under optimal temps.

Great review! I saw a Mach E on the highway last week on the highway coming from behind in the lane next to me, and it looks even better in person than it does on your computer. Still, if you want 270 miles of range with AWD, you're looking at $54K -- yes, you can get up to a $7500 credit, but ouch, still a really expensive option. If I had the money to spare for a car at the price point, I'd certainly be giving this a hard look, especially if you can charge at home. If you want to tour, the Tesla and its supercharger network may be the way to go for now. Mach E trumps the Y all day long, though, in the looks department!

I spent allot of money buying a car and over the years I have been very disappointed base of the cost .. We recently traded in our previous model X for an Audi eTron and in a few weeks will be trading in my model 3 performance for the Mach E, the Mach E has much better interior quality, better seats better sound system, all the right features anyone is looking for in a premium car, The only thing I like about my model 3 performance over the Mach E is the 0-60 ..0-100 performance.. that’s about it .. the Mach E is better in every other ways that counts the most .. Tesla model Y and 3 are just very expensive sub premium cars

Yeah. Hubs has been a Tesla fan but after speaking with friends who have them, he was very interested in test driving the Mach E. We drove the Y, the 3 and the E. The Mach E was hands down the far nicer car. No the 0-60 won’t slam your head back into the headrest like the performance 3, but it has plenty of go to get on the freeway and have a little fun. Our Mach E is on order. But the wait is long.... Ford has a winner on its hands.

It does. It will show you all of the charging stations nearby or if you plug in a destination to the nav system, it will show you all of the charge stations along the whole route. Further as others have stated, his range anxiety of trying to charge the car when it still has 60% of battery is why it charged slowly. He just doesn’t know EVs. You shouldn’t be at a fast charger if you have more than 20% of battery.

I don't understand the comparisons to tesla or calling tesla some distant future car. There is nothing special about tesla's. There is nothing futuristic about them and they have lots and lots of quality/reliablity issues. I'm not a Ford guy but I would pick a Ford Mach E, with an actual dealer network and service, over tesla any day. It's designed by people who know how to design cars. You know, things with an engine, 4 wheels, and a suspension. That's still 90% of what a car is all about. Not fart apps.
@TeslaDo_d3 жыл бұрын
LOL! I don't mind if you buy another EV or like the looks of the Mach-E better, but you really don't know much about what you get with a Tesla and neither does this reviewer. Check out sentry mode and dashcam for video evidence during insurance claims. If you have a dog, then Tesla's dog mode is a bonus. Included autopilot is an unrivaled driver assist function that is already safer than me. I have used forward and reverse summon much more than I ever thought I would within my own garage and some parking situations. And when it comes to road trips, Tesla's require the least amount of driver effort. Tesla came to my house to fix a malfunctioning button....but if you rather take time-off to visit a dealership, that's your choice. Some people pay for pretty. Some pay for features and functions. It's what makes the world go round. The Mach-E has some advantages, just not the ones that matter to me.

The glaring problem with the Mach E was highlighted in your video where you could not charge it fast. Tesla superchargers are plentiful around the country and even in other countries. Yes, 90% of charging will happen at home but a lack of plentiful convenient fast charging on the road is a deal killer.
@AMan-he9sz3 жыл бұрын
Nope not a deal killer at all.
@loriallen673 жыл бұрын
Not at all a killer. I’m not driving around in an uncomfortably minimalist overpriced car because on the 3 road trips per year it charges faster. Further, if you know EVs, you know that the slow charge rate was because he was trying to charge when the battery had more than 20% state of charge. That makes the DC charger use a slower rate. And then there is the Biden infrastructure plan which aims to add 500k charging stations which means Tesla will be left in the dark because it isn’t compatible OR all the Tesla people will be using adapters. This is a game changing car. It took 14% of the new EV sales away from Tesla in February. We drove all and ordered a Mach E. It just a nicer car.

I have been hesitant on an EV because of multiple factors, 1 distance (unless they have an extended length model which brings the cost up) and vacationing. Unlike a fossil fuel car that starts me off around 300-400 miles and I can fill up quickly at a gas station and be on the road instead of having to wait 15-45 minutes and having to eat to go. Meanwhile I know that it does better around town\city and being able to use regenerative breaking. and then having to get a house charger, or use that portable charger and finding a place to plug it in where I'm staying... it just doesn't seem like the US infrastructure doesn't fully support it for long term traveling and ease of vacationing. So for now, I'll upgrade traditionally and hope that by the next time I'm ready it will be better. If I were to do anything now it would be HYBRID for this reason and let the car charge where needed on the go and get able to fill up quickly
@andrerodriguez76033 жыл бұрын
I like the Mach E as a daily driver, but one thing they have to change as the car matures. On seeing other reviews that there is a real problem with charging at Electrifying American charging infrastructure. Fords technology at charging stations compared to Tesla’s charging infrastructure ease of use, is definitely not there and will irritate drivers taking longer road trips. Also Ford with it’s vertically mounted 15” LED screen instead of being horizontal mounted was a big mistake. When The Mach E does enable full infotainment someday, the vertical screen won’t cut it. That’s why Tesla is updating the Model S, and Model X to horizontal screens, like their other cars. Also Ford can’t compete with Tesla’s technology over all. The phone remote key app doesn’t work well at this time and I doubt it ever will. Ford saying they are working on a over the air update. This interviewer keeps harping on how the interior of the car, and looks are better than the Model Y. This may be true, but the Mach E will never compete to a Tesla Model Y, because of the technology that actually works. The Model Y’s truly a refined EV over the Mach E in terms of working technology. If you want looks inside and out and an excellent daily driver, and short road trips, with decent autopilot features, than the Mustang Mach E is for you. But if you want a EV with 310 miles of range and exceptional technology that works, with a no hassle charging infrastructure. Spend a little more and get your money’s worth. A Tesla. 👍🏻
