Living with 'Two' Modern Classics (106 & 306)

They can be a pain to live with sometimes but they're simple cars and I feel a great sense of nostalgia about them. Today I take out my Peugeot 106 Quiksilver and my Peugeot 306 HDI.

Peugeot in my humble opinion reached peak in 90s, in terms of design and functionality, 306 was far better choice over better known vwgolf 3 gen.

Completely agree. I've had 6 x 306's now and a 106 and they're all better than the lemon of a 307 that I once owned. They're all better than my old 807 too although that car was handy when it came time to collect my motorbike.

For me the mid 90s peugeots and late 90s Fords were the peak era bread and butter cars. All handled and rode beautifully before massive tyres and rock hard suspension ruined road car handling.... Always fancied a 106, the quiksilver especially.

I agree. After the 106 and 306, Peugeot lost their way, much like many other manufacturers. The 306's were pretty bullet proof. The 106's were rot boxes though. The irony of the 106 Quiksilver was that Peugeot made them silver but didn't make them quick at all. Still, they look amazing.

love my current 106 gti project to death :) had 2 gti's and i loved them both. great cars to drive and plenty off fun. although the rust do get them. although my current one is rust free as it is a import from south europe :)

Currently daily a peugeot 106 and have a low mileage saxo thats my pride and joy, currently tucked up for winter

If I had a low miler, I'd probably tuck it away for winter too. Lexy has 143k and is a daily so she lives outside

Peugeot's are great cars. My first set of wheels was a 206, then another 206 following a crash I had a couple of months after passing my test & this summer I had the latest 208 Model as a courtesy car after somebody hit the back of my Toyota. Styling wise, it's the coolest I've seen since the day's of the 306 & my 206 & it drove really well despite what critics like Clarkson say about French built cars these days.

I love Peugeots. Their electrics are terrible especially the early 306's but even saying that, my 306's and now my 106 have always been reliable. That is until I bought this 306 that just wants to die. Had another problem only 12 days after making this video. It is what it is though, a project car.

I have the same issue with my 106 that the right and left mounts of my bumper are gone/rusted off so i was wondering where u can get those parts 4:48 great video btw love the details

Thanks Those bumper mounts that I bought were genuine Peugeot items that I bought in 2017. I was lucky to get them as they are no longer available. However, there are 1 or 2 people that are remaking them. Try 106 and Saxo Owners group on Facebook: facebook.com/groups/377771909086878/
