*My daughter drinks lots of water and urinates with the same rate, there are no other symptoms to show if those have anything to do with diabetes. This is a good information that I have gone through **Diabets.Care** She is 2 years 9 months, hale and healthy, have not done any blood test. But I am not certain if one can get diabetes at such a tender age. Please I will like to know more on that*

I have type 1 too, do u ever get affected when people confuse it with type two, honestly like some of my friends don't even know that I have type 1, or know what it is. it's about like half and half of my best/close friends, because no one will ever understand unless they have it too and I don't want to have to explain it it's like when I first met them that's when I should've told them like I feel like I missed my chance. liya fowler you shouldn't feel embarrassed nor ashamed. You should learn to be proud of who you are and what you are! Train yourself to accept the person you are and the consequences you have to live by. Trust me, I too am a type 1 diabetic and I am NOT ashamed. I am PROUD! Why? Because I am dealing with constantly making sure that I am doing fine, regularly checking my blood sugars, taking the right dose of insulin and managing what I eat. And let me tell you, the fact that you and every other diabetic can do that and yet still continue their everyday life like every other normal person is a real hero, because there's a lot of other people out there that can't do let alone with what we have to. No one will understand your situation? Then let that be. You are beautiful, you are unique and you are intelligent. And diabetes DOES NOT change that. Doctors themselves will never l ow the struggle that we live by and they are doctors. Be proud and accept that being a diabetic is NOT a bad thing, it's enough of a blessing that we are fighting everyday to keep our feet going!

Tbh i don't even know if i have it or not,i told myself that i was going to get I check up but i just can't seem to find the time. I was a very very healthy person but because i was kinda big in body i was teased alot by some of my family members and friends and so I started eating pure sweet and this was like in high school at about age 16, I didn't care about the negative impact it would have had on my body i hurt knew that i wanted to lose weight though i was warned a few times about the risk of getting diabetes i just didn't care, I just wanted to lose weight just so that i could fit in. Ofc now i deeply regret it especially being that their praising thicker women but that's not the point. Point is I've lost the weight now to the point where it is recognisable that everyone realises and I'm eating like a cow but it seems that it's only my upper body that seems to be responding to the food and i feel super tired at times. I use to tell myself that it's stress but after doing several researches most of my symiand signs seem to be linked with diabetes. I'm super scared to go get a check up now. Idk what I'd do if i found out I'm diabetic.

Omg I just saw this! I have also diabetes and you just explain it so good. Have you heard that you can test your blood sugar with your phone now?! I have the freestyle libre monitor and there’s and app for it that you can just swipe your phone over the sensor. It does the same thing as the monitor and are super duper good since we always bring our phones everywhere! Finally, you are a great inspiration to many people and I hope more people can have more knowledge about diabetes since it’s so common nowadays! Xx

My dad has type one diabetes but instead of an insulin pump he uses a blood tester and it puts a needle in his finger to make it bleed then you put some blood on a test strip and the tester reads your blood to tell you if your blood pressure is high or low. If it is high he has to take a needle. If it is low he has to have something sugary. He also takes regular needles.

If you don’t have to pay out of pocket for the pump I’d try it and switch back to shots if you don’t like it. I had a pump for almost 10 years, but the second one I got had so many problems it sent me to the hospital. Medtronic sent me a new one but my trust in it is so lost right now I’ve been on shots again for the past 9 months and really like having switched back. So preference can change between different people but it can also change throughout your life.

I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes January 3rd 2019 and I got the Roche insight pump in the summer holidays! I’m so happy I have found a KZbinr that has this😊 and I got the freestyle libre a month after being diagnosed 😊

I am a type 1 diabetic and i use the Omni pod, it has no wires and the tube is so small. I love it a lot. I’ve had diabetes for 11 years. I also use the Dexcom and it reads my blood sugar every 3 minutes but it is another pump, it’s wonderful!
