I can sum up what this man said in just a few words. Florida is overrated and I have no idea why people keep moving there. I don't even think it's a great place to go on vacation. I lived there when I was a child and had no choice, however, now as an adult I would not move there nor will I go there on vacation. As far as I am concerned Florida does not exist to me anymore. And if you liked Disney go to the original Disneyland in Anaheim, California. If you go there in July it'll be beautiful, the high temperature will be around 80 and there will be a nice breeze. You will not have to deal with high humidity, insects etc. However, in Orlando it will be so hot you'll return home with a rash all over your body, insect bites, its miserable. Go to Anaheim, forget Orlando.

The united states is experiencing a bad case of class culture identity. Many who travel feel they are above those working in service sector jobs and feel that treating people badly is how they affirm their weak self image. perhaps they only pretend to be capable while on vacation. Maybe the whole of the northeast population who work in a professional capacity is constantly ready to lawyer up the instant something doesn't go their way. That was in part my observation in the later part of my working life. People stopped being friendly if they thought it would ruin their chances of winning a law suit for a slip and fall while on vacation.

I agree the sky in Florida is breathtakingly beautiful. I first saw it when I visited a friend in Seaside years ago. I was blown away by the expansiveness and beauty. And the sand there is white and powdery soft, incredible. I live in Southern California where the sand is ugly and coarse the skies are boring and the ocean freezing with cold winds blowing in most of the year. My elderly Dad and wife live in southeastern FL having moved from northern Massachusetts and I've visited only in the winter. The ocean water was divine, I was in love with the warm healing waters but realized that the sun was a problem for me personally, way too hot. Also my few encounters when I was running errands was very surprising. I encountered many rude, openly aggressive men and unfriendly people of both sexes. Many I realized were from up north, NY or NJ and felt so saddened by that. What a way to ruin what could be a wonderful place to live. I felt so aggressed by these people having been acquainted with these types growing up in the NY and Boston areas. It just felt wrong for that sort of energy to be so far south in this tropical environment. Humans have such great potential and yet we are so excellent at ruining what deserves to be preserved and enhanced by our lower nature.

@@jameshovey8301 The big reason they can avoid taxing their residents into the Stone Age is because of tourism... which is because of its natural beauty and climate. And that is why most long term residents are typically rather nice, so it’s more inviting to tourists. But I understand the frustrations some have due to tourism, that’s a lot of different personalities, attitudes, and good and bad habits being brought next door year round. But the idea of not having another government entity taking $200 a week out of one’s check is also a nice incentive and I’m sure it accounts for some of the less civically responsible individuals.

I remember vacationing in Daytona beach- it was August, and I will never forget the month because it was so hot that I said to myself that it might be cooler on the beach. As I walked down to the beach, instead of it being breezy, it got hotter. Sweat was coming off me in streams. What made it worst was there was no wind. Just wait until your home state gets destroyed by that kinda crap. I live in NE California. It's an entirely different life compared to everything that's seen and heard about of California on social media. Plus there are virtually no tourist. But anytime I want to travel towards the coast, I'm bombarded with "transplants"!🤣🤣 all the weirdos (rich or poor or somewhere in the middle) from every state flock to California or New York.

It’s like that everywhere because we’re human. It’s our nature to feel we know best and not want to be part of a new place but change it to be like our old place. I’ve enjoyed Florida every visit! The traffic is different from what I’m used to here in Illinois but I don’t mind needing to drive a little faster to fit in. And being able to u-turn without getting in trouble is a nice change.
