I am 65 now but what a trip. I went to every GFR show to come to New Orleans. I caught his harmonica, his pick, and at another small show to his standards, bout400 people, l net him and he signed the pick to John, God bless. Amazingly he was shorter than me, k was ;5"11 at the time but he was huge in my eyes. My first rock hero and l got to meet him for 10 minutes. I invited him to a crayfish boil, naturally he couldn't show up but that is a night l will never forget. How many huge rock stars takes the time to meet his fans? Yes, he is a decent guy and l love him and his music and faith.

A f*cking as*h*ole in my opinion. I met him and not so nice. A freaky Jesus freak right wing nut case. Back in the day? Yeah, "Inside Looking Out", and "Closer To Home", great songs and many others back then. These days going back to the 90's? No. Way out there unless your a Ted Nugent, D. Trump guy, you'll be OK with Mark F but if your normal, not so much. Not talking politics friends, I vote GOP and DEM, I'm talking nut cases like Mark, Ted, and Don T., not Don B. (I love Don Brewer-you know, GFR drummer? & Mel).

In 1987 in Austin, Texas, I sat down and interviewed Mark when he was on a solo tour. He is the real deal. I've been a fan ever since I saw Mark, Mel & Don in San Antonio in 1970. He is such a great dude. In 1997, I saw him in Austin, Texas again and met his wife Lisa, his son Jason and other GFR members. They are the original gargage band made good. Love live GFR!!!

I love Mark Farner (great talent and showman), I love Billy Graham (I miss him on TV so much) but I love the Lord before anything. Reading the Bible is a great life changing experience and finding a great church that teaches the good news and not "hell fire" is life changing. I owe so much to God. He healed my fear of losing my husband and childhood traumas. I have so much joy and peace now and I owe it all to a personal relationship with the Lord. I never thought I'd become a Christian. I was a girl that partied hard and ran around like an alley cat but that life broke my heart. I had to grow up and get my life on a better path. Man, am I glad I accepted Christ into my life. It keeps getting better and better. Great testimony by Mr Grand Funk Railroad himself. I still listen to his inspiring music. Thanks for allowing me to share.

My hubby roadied for Mark during the Christian tours. His Christian cassettes got me through my hard times. We went to Grand Funk Railroad reunion tour, might have need called Red White and Blue. Afterward my roadie hubby wanted to say hi and caught the band walking out. To the band’s dismay Mark started greating the fans and signing old vinyl GFR albums. He is right about the helfire, brimstone. I grew up traumatized by that. Mark’s heart is for God and people. The band keep yelling at him. Mark will sit with fans all night. We Christians might not always preach it right or get it perfect. The helfire brimstone people meant well. Now people get hung up on conspiracy theories. Yet, there is much pressure in this world that would put fear on anybody. But Mark’s heart is in the right place.

I always knew, in my heart, listening to Mark Farner singing and playing, that his music had real feeling and soul in it. I always knew that the band had some trouble and broke camp, but never knew the backstory. I give Mark a big virtual hug, and I can understand completely all the pain and troubles that he has over come. Id like to say that Don Brewer is pretty low, for pulling that crap on him, shame on him. Mark , you are Grand Funk Railroad, dont matter what some papers say, the music says it all. Bless you brother.
