No god, I am aware of mythology, had ever before changed their aspect. That alone is a testiment to his power. But I have to say, the name Allfather is making more and more sense. He starts off like a typical youthful man, full of bluster, wrath, energy, and ready to meet any challenge head-on. But just like any man, he learns hard lessons through experience. Odin grows as he goes about it, becoming more wise and learned as time passes. The way you describe him, he reminds me of my grandfather; kind, wise, and experienced, but always ready give you an infernal beat down if required. As always, Sir Baldermort and Lady Lightbringer, you have done a most excellent job with this story. I eagerly await your next tale. 🤠 Yours Truly Zachariah

Oooo this one is so tricky to cover because the vanir as almost Elvish nature gods have a definite tricky deceptive and fey aspect I wanted to give you all the bonus points because this is such a tricky subject and the fact that there were multiple Pagan traditions among different tribes and peoples probably contributes to this vibe you're doing such a good job but you can almost see a very Celtic overlap with the Vanir such good work!!
@livingmythology14059 ай бұрын
Thank you so much - yes with multiple different traditions amongst different tribes it can be difficult to know which vibe to match - but we are very glad that you have enjoyed our version ! We try to capture the heart behind each pantheon carefully - Lightbringer

Ngl, I really wish there was surviving mythology that explained the origin(s) of the vanir. I mean, we have surviving myths that explain the origins of the aiser, of the jotuns, of the nine worlds (assuming you want to count the Niflheim and Muspelheim as having always existed pre-creation as some versions of the myths tend to), of humanity, of the universe, etc. The only major players of the myths who we don’t have a “canonical” explaination for the origins of are the vanir and Surt of Muspelheim, with everything else either being addressed as having basically always existed, or explained as coming into existence in some way, shape or form

@singletona0829 ай бұрын
I actually missed out on this one in my own scattered readings; how the Aseir and Vanir came to cohabitate or at least how odin had a Vanir wife. A shame about Mimir, but given everything? ... No still harsh, but I can comprehend the rational. They did at lest have hte decency to not kill the poor loveable idiot that knew nothing of what was going on. Apologies for being less talkative on your run of norse stories. It is not for lack of interest it is more 'What do I even say t othis' Norse is an entirely differing beast to the Greek pantheoverse. Often I find it harder to wrap my head around the cast and their stories. Still, as always, you and your father tell a wonderful tale and i am glad for the stories.

Much like the Greeks the Norse pantheon will reflect Norse culture.. Arguably they are closer to concubines then actually wives but have been described as wives in some stories.. Most gods, specially god “kings” have flings with others.. They have to create all the lesser gods and many demigods or mythical heroes/champions while somebody holds the court together in Asgard..

This whole war between the Aesir and the Vanir doesn’t make any sense to me. Frankly, the Vanir don’t have any claim to human worship because they didn’t create humanity. Odin and his brothers created the first humans, as such the Aesir are the only ones with any claim to their worship. So why were the Vanir so butthurt about it?

Wish they'd use more real art
@livingmythology14059 ай бұрын
An attempt to gain a better video. We use it as we cannot afford real art. if we had more support or hits, we would. At the end of the day, this is light entertainment done by two people, not a team, not a company, not a huge channel. We do what we can and are attempting to make it a good watch as well as a good listen. Again, the second we have enough support, we will gain artists. but they are exceptionally expensive. We simply cannot take on the cost. We earn practically nothing as it is on this channel. Baldermort funds it from his larger channel. So, if you want it to continue and gain real art, then support us on patreon and share the videos. if you don't want to do that? Well, enjoy it for what it is. We cannot continue at a loss. So, something has to give. This is an act of desperation. Because if we don't get more support or hits? It will have to end.
