What i'm packing for 2+ years away | Pack with me, Aeronaut 45 | New Zealand WHV

I am moving to New Zealand on a working holiday visa for the next 2+ years of my life, today I share with you what i'm packing as a minimalist backpacker!
My version of minimalism might not look like other minimalists but I believe it's all about taking things that spark joy and imrpove yourlife without having too much clutter. I hope to downsize my stuff as I travel once I figure out what I do and don't need. 🙂

I would always carry my toiletries and my underwear with me, because if something happens at least I don’t have to buy the necessary stuff ~ but loved your packing !!! i have to get my on of those tom bihn backpacks !!

That's true! I took my toothbrush toothpaste deodorant and a fresh pair of undies in my day bag. My mum always told me to do that, and if you're going somewhere sunny always pack your swimmers incase your bag doens't arrive with you! 😋 Honestly I highly recommend them, awesome bags.

I add a whole set of clothes to the carry on bag plus two extra sets of undergarments. Tip; do this. Spills and sickness happens. Plus if you don't get your bags right away you have something else to wear.

I was always pressuring myself to be "more minimalist" in comparison to a lot of people I watch on KZbin who are extreme in the small amount of what they pack. Watching you pack your bags made me feel SO GOOD because I take around the same amount you do when I have studied abroad the past two times. Really it just comes down to me being a cheapskate. My last bag lasted about 20 years..no..I think that it may have been more than that! It went with me to Florida, New Zealand, Australia, and New Orleans! (I do not travel much)

Try the long narrow packing cubes. They slide right down into a backpack amazingly. 2 fit perfectly with an extra pair of shoes at the bottom sides.

The thing to remember is that if you're going for a month you need the same amount of clothes as you would for 2 weeks because you can wash and rotate what you wear. If you're going away longer like me you need a little more but you don't need as much as you think, I don't know if i'll even wear everything I brought with me, we will see! I'm so excited for you 😅 I'm going away for two weeks, so theoretically I shouldn't have to pack too much? It's always clothing that gets me....I want to give myself options but then end up packing things that I end up not even wearing! I just wanted to say those bags are sooooo amazing like you said the way that they make smaller bage that fit in bigger bags and all the pockets for specific things to keep organized is awsome and that little passport bag that the company makes it soooo usefull I loved this video and am thinking in the future I might get a Tom brand bag because me and my family go on a trip every other year for a family reunion to see all of my Dads family that lives in Maine and South Carolina because we live in Upper Michigan so we miss them when it is not a year where we see them on a family reunion and we also travel to see our friends in Wisconsin and California.😇😇😆😆😄😄

Minimalism isn't about owning a small amount of things, to me it's only owning the things that bring you happiness. 😊 Compared to last time I travelled this is much more minimalist and i'm sure in 1-2 years time I will travel with even less, it happens naturally over time, especially when you travel because you realise quickly what you do and don't need. 😊 ❤️

Current plan is I have that, the Synapse 25 and then one suitcase for all my worldly possessions when I move to a new country next year (my home will be rented out so all I have will go with me! Ahh, Okay, I just watched it. So good, I loved this video! How satisfying are their bags to pack? I've had my Synapse 25 for about a year now and I love it so much. It's like a faithful friend that I take everywhere with me. I love how study the zips are and how everything fits together nicely. They really are a joy to pack! My husband liked my bag so much he got his own one with some accessories that I hadn't tried. I really love the clear quarter packing cube for taking liquids through security. He also has the large snake charmer (I have the smaller version for cables and also medicine) which I do like the dimensions of, but I've not tried packing other things into it. I like how you used yours for underwear, that is such a good idea! Packing cubes are amazing but I do find underwear and socks can get lost in them sometimes! The passport pouch is amazing. You can fit multiple passports in there too, which is good if you're travelling as a family. I also have one of the medium double organiser pouches, which I use as a pencil case and storage for my crochet hooks and scissors etc. I think in future I will get one of their yarn stuff sacks to take with me so that my yarn can stay clean whilst I work on things (I'll be doing loads of crochet for my business whilst I travel!) I'm so happy for you that they sent this to you to review, what an amazing thing to get, I can only imagine how much value this must have for you!

Soooo, might have finally taken the plunge and bought my A45! Although, I'm sorry, I totally forgot to use your affiliate link to buy my bag. I did email them earlier to say you deserved the credit for the sale at least because I've been on the fence about it for a while but seeing how lovely yours is made me decide to do it. It was strange actually, I was thinking "how on earth can I get the money together to buy this bag?" and then later when I came home, I found something in my hallway that I had every intention of selling soon anyway because it was no longer functional and it turned out to be the exact price of the bag. You seem to be really similar to me haha quite often when I watch your videos I think 'I have that' or 'I do that too' haha. I just came back to the UK from 6 years in Thailand so had to minimise and pack all my stuff into about 3 bags so it's really interesting to watch this!
