Coca/shea butter on the belly while pregnant is sooo smart! I kept my weight gain low, drank a ton of water, and lathered myself from shoulder to knee in cocoa butter and oil every day. No stretch marks and no terrible itching or strain on my skin!

This is such a great packing video Brittany! It's really inspiring me to go as minimalist as possible for a trip my husband and I are taking for over a year, around the world, next April. Every time we travel we always say how we're bringing less "stuff" the next time we go, as it feels so burdensome to travel with unnecessary things. I've also never heard of Tom Bihn so awesome recommendation! Cheers to being fellow packing enthusiasts and thanks for the inspiration. :D

I am addicted to your packing videos and have watched the old ones over and over because I dreamed of getting a Synapse 25 (since I'm 5'9 and would rather have leftover room as I live out of it.) And I recieved mine a couple of days ago! It's the best thing I have ever gotten! Though.. I have no way of travelling yet... Some of my favorite things are - stretching, listening to calming music, finding a sweet, comfy space to chill in the airport, hydrating a lot with water, wearing comfy clothes, having some warm layers, having my eye mask handy, playing the appreciation game in the airport (where I create mental lists of things I appreciate). These are some that come to mind! Also, i wrote this article a few years ago, which pertains more to planning for the trip, but includes some potentially helpful things too! Happy trails!!

Some people are probably like, why does she have condoms haha. Me personally, I like to hike barefoot so I don't travel with shoes just the DIY Xero Sandals, and I don't wear socks but sometimes I travel with a pair to sleep in if it's cold. I take a plastic spoon and cut off the handle and file it down so it's just basically the bowl part and use that for eating lol -- I bet if you didn't have to do heavy video editing you could get away with just having a cellphone and ipad, that would save lots of space and weight. That's my ideal life anyway, actually just having a cellphone would be even better haha. Then you can get by with only a 10L pack hehe, oh lala - Love you Brittany!

@@BrittanySTaylor Congrats on your pregnancy. 34 years ago, I gave birth at home to a ten-pound BEAUTIFUL baby boy at home with my then husband. Unassisted. I was primarily raw Vegan through the pregnancy, did Yoga, swam, and walked a LOT. Four hour labor like a boss. I never vaccinated my son even though it is a personal choice and got a LOT of crap from folks. I researched it. I never took drugs, medications, or even supplements during my pregnancy except Red Rasberry Tea. I still don't. I swear by Red Rasberry in keeping my energy up during pregnancy. I hated that I needed more sleep and I was HUNGRY. We raised our son Vegan 18 years. He went out on his own after that and chose to do something different. The children come through us, but do not belong to us. People tried to frighten me during my pregnancy and even during child rearing. Try not to buy into the hype and fear. Some Vegans mothers start back esting meat, eggs, etc..Starvation raw Vegan diets often end up back there. While I did a LOT of raw and that still feels good, frankly, I find that it leads to eating disorders and the notion of being perfect and obsessing. The baby needs greens and juicy fruit, but not just fruit. Love. Pregnancy is a gift, not an illness. Most people believe dairy or slaughtered animals are necessary in pregnancy. I know first hand they are not. 40 years I have been hard core Vegan and I know what is possible. If you ever have questions or start buying into the fear because mother hormones make you vulnerable sometimes even though you are a badass, reach out to me. Keep doing YOGA especially squats to keep the birth canal open. Not the squats everyone is obsessed with to get an ass, but you know, like folks in India, Asia, Thailand, where squatting to the floor is how they work, eat, etc. THOSE squats will keep the birth canal open. I ate a lot of avocados, probably too many, during pregnancy. Thus, that big ass chunky beautiful baby I had, but my disclaimer is that at 6ft 2 from a family of beautiful tall folks, I did not expect to have a six-pound baby. Please feed yourself well and don't obsess about weight gain. I gained a LOT during pregnancy even though Vegan and working out, but I swear, one week of nursing, and I was back on the runway. Plus, in the last month of pregnancy, the body needs far less food and the digestion system begins to shutdown to prepare for birth. Most women miss this and keep eating resulting in a lot of vomiting near labor. In my last month of pregnancy, I lost 20 pounds because I listened to my body. I kept up bike riding and yoga and walking until the day before birth. Veggies are just as important as fruit. Don't obsess over weight. Now is not the time. Too many young Vegans these days pride themselves on staying thin through pregnancy and in the end, they wreck their bodies, then claim Veganism did not nourish them enough. I ate a LOT and I do mean a lot of sprouts during pregnancy. Healthy mommy, healthy baby. And, do rest. Much love.

Really interesting to see how you pack. You don't seem to use jeans at all, which I do and love, but unfortunately take up space in a backpack. It's still super useful to see how and what you pack. Looks like you're finally starting to show on your belly.
@BrittanySTaylor6 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for this feedback. Ooh yes, I so feel you on the jeans. I used to wear some that were really thin and stretchy, and put them in my packing cube. Definitely still took up more space than leggings, but so worth it if it's something that is loved!

@@BrittanySTaylor yep, I have a 45 litre backpack, but because I have been taking around a sleeping bag that takes up a third of the space, which I think I'll ditch for now (leave it at home with my mum) I'd like to reduce my main backpack size. I will say I'm impressed at how much clothing you fit into a packing cube-- I have a double sided one and still feel like I fit maybe half the clothes you did. Any tips on that? And also, with the soap berries you use, are you able to hand wash your clothing? I've always wondered that. Thanks for another packing video! the packing geek within me has really been missing them xD

Good question about the packing cube- I roll my clothes pretty tightly. Also, a lot of them get pretty small. Not sure, besides that. I don't know about washing clothes by hand with the soap nuts. If you put the soap nuts in water and shake it up, the sud a bit, so I could see it working. I've also used Dr. Bronner's when washing my clothes by hand. Happy trails, my friend!
