Nice power mod, I went on aliexpress all the Compression Spring 300mm x 1.0mm x 5mm OD can't find the 1.0mm every seller seems to be sold out, Everybody saw this video and bought them all up. Looks like I am forced to get the TechT Hardcore Tuner Deluxe Spring Kit, nots sure how well those springs will work. Trying to build my mission 4 up a little, this isn't my only gun mainly more PCP air rifles, but I'm also into the less lethal stuff. You know with that high fps I think you can get over 30 joules using heavier 3.7 gram or even 4.8 gram projectiles, sure you will lose some fps, unless you are trying to stay above the 400 fps mark. Thanks for sharing this vid.

Hey Sean, I tried to change my drive spring, but decided to give up, It look easy enough to do, but now I am having a hard time trying to get the clam shells to snap back to together, I mean Im very close, but it will not completely go the rest of the way. Something I am not doing right and cannot figure it out. The TCP/FSC is much much easier to work on by far.
@prochargedbirdprochargedbird2 ай бұрын
I found out it has something to do with the charging handle, because if I leave the handle out it goes together just fine, when I put the charging handle back in thats where I have problems getting the shells back together,
@prochargedbirdprochargedbird2 ай бұрын
I finally got it back together, my god what a pain in the ASS! I am never ever pulling my Byrna mission 4 apart ever again. Forget the stiffer drive spring. I also have glaucoma, I am partially blind in my right eye and have diminished vision in my left eye, still don't have my full time time glasses yet either, not until February maybe. Doing all this with cheap $1.25 reading glasses from dollar tree. So working on my guns, become a lot more difficult. Yeah next time I will let some else change out the drive spring. lol
@lesslethalfordummies2 ай бұрын
Sorry i was out of cell reception today. When closing the shell the marker must be in fire mode and you have to pull the trigger as you squeeze the two halves together. Anyways glad you got it back together.
@prochargedbirdprochargedbird2 ай бұрын
@@lesslethalfordummies Thats Ok you left me all by lonesome, Just messing with you lol. It took me about 15 minutes more to figure it out what I was doing wrong. I knew about pulling the trigger part, I forgot to pull the spring on the charging handle thats when I was able to snap it back together. I was so close to swapping out the drive spring, But since it was my first time having the rifle apart, I started to feel uncomfortable and wasn't sure if I could trust my very bad vision enough, I was thinking I was going to lose a little pin or little spring somewhere and would not be able to find it. I don't know if I can get up enough courage to take the rifle apart again to put the stiffer drive spring in.

Have you made any discoveries about the best alloys to use for springs? I'm looking to source better quality Tippmann drive springs for paintball purposes and I'd like one that stays strong long term even if it costs more.
@lesslethalfordummiesАй бұрын
I am using Chinesiam 65nm spring steel. It really isnt that great a quality. How i have been able to maintain velocity is by choosing a larger OD spring in conjunction with the TechT hammer. I cant say what wire gauge you would need for paintball velocities. It has been all trial and error to get here.
@nsoutlawball1941Ай бұрын
@@lesslethalfordummies Thanks for the response. I may be dreaming but It almost Seems like somewhere along the line Tippmann reduced the strength of their drive springs. Every new drive spring I've bought in the last 10+ years has been lucky to get my 98's and A5's up to 280fps with a .690 barrel ( can't go less or you get lots of barrel breaks/jams/huge mess ) and a shimmed HPA regulator. Needa have like 1100psi and a brand new spring if you want to play anywhere near 300fps. Could have been the transition from C02 though I guess.
@nsoutlawball1941Ай бұрын
@@lesslethalfordummies btw how has the Techt spring held out? I bought one of these multi colored spring kits way way back and I don't remember if it was Techt or a knock off, but all of the springs lost their strength super fast, it was actually a terrible buy but I don't remember if it was Techt or not.

Daft question (I think I probably already know the answer to) Shaun, but why cut the drive spring to 107mm when the original spring is about 110mm? I'm guessing it's because this aliexpress spring is that much harder that 110mm would just be too much?
@lesslethalfordummies7 ай бұрын
The Ali spring loses 10mm of length right from its first compression. The factory yes is longer but its tension is much lower being the wire gauge is much smaller thus the hammer strike is short and quick releasing less air.
