Honestly, I think this episode is the most disturbing of them all. Whereas before we were in the realm of "so absurd you can't possibly take it seriously", but then having Carl break character and show, not just real emotion, but unbearable grief while sad music plays over the destruction he's caused, forces everything, including the events of previous episodes, into the realm of something to take seriously. Suddenly you feel like the absurdly evil llama is a character, a real person, and the very idea is too much to handle. We've been forced to look deeply into the mind of a depraved sociopath.

That is the hardest foreshadowing I’ve ever seen in my life. The second episode “that is what forgiveness sounds like: screaming and then silence” showing up in this as Carl forgiving Paul for the hate that he gave Carl, as screaming in his name, to suddenly hear silence. This is deep
@allyxrd4 жыл бұрын
It wasn't even foreshadowing, the creator hadn't made that as an intended ending yet, he just planned out his script ahead of time, one of the reasons this series is so good.

I guess in the end Lamas with Hats was almost a love story, Carl was happy not because of what he did but because Paul was there with him. His monstrous behavior was simply the most efficient means of retaining Paul's attention, which through his incredibly high tolerance, Paul unwittingly allowed it to continue. Carl mistakes his enjoyment of Paul for his enjoyment of mayhem and murder and thought he may indeed have drawn enjoyment from such things, the emotional gap left by Paul's removal from his life was insurmountable. In his misinterpretation Carl's psychosis caused him to seek out greater acts of depravity, the acts he had mistaken as the source of his happiness while still symbolically represented by Paul in the form of the floating mask. The realization of Paul's death finally makes Carl's delusion unsustainable and thought it is debatable whither he understands the full nature of the situation Carl at least realizes no more blood can be squeezed from the stone. With no source of pleasure left in the world Carl can no longer justify his existence and so he must die.
@Lshannon909 жыл бұрын
Yes, that's awesome! I think it was a love story too. I also think that Carl realizes that his actions are what killed Paul and he can't live with it so that's why he kills himself.

Joshua Thornton Ehh I'm more willing to chalk that up to a production quirk, Paul never existing sabotages the whole narrative a bit for me as being one twist too far. I like Lamas with Hats more as being fully in the realms of reality or making it very clear when someone is hallucinating. Adding that ambiguity subtracts from it's absurdist nature.
@somerandomname31243 жыл бұрын
You know I just realized that the entire series was just Carl crying for attention from Paul which was why he killed all those people. He ended up hurting Paul in the crossfire and lost the only person he cared about. There's something eerily realistically depressing about that.

The irony of it all. The thing that started to change Carl was the fact that Paul left him. Paul was the very reason he kept going in life, even though he killed many living things. In actuality, Paul was the reason Carl was ever sane, and now that his friend is gone, Carl had lost his foundation. With no one to keep watching him, Carl tried everything to keep his sanity. He even created a Paul maask, but it didn't work. When it came to life, that's when things really started to take a turn for the worst. And now, to this episode, Carl regrets everything he did. HE was the one that brought the world to destruction. HE was the one who chose to go on his (basic) genocide. But the thing that hurt him the most was that HE was the one who killed his best friend... We're all left to wonder.. what would have happened if Paul stayed? Would things be different? Would things turn out the same way? We'll never know... (Edit: Jeez, I've never had this many likes before lol. Thanks!)

Llamas with Hats 13 *Carl wakes up in surprise on a large cloud* “Caaaarrrll!” Paul remarked in front of Carl. “Paul? Your alive?” Carl asked with surprise. “No, Carl, we’re in heaven.” Paul stated. “Heaven? Wow, I did not think I would end up here”, Carl replied. “Ya, me neither”, Paul rolled his eyes. “You know, after the Cruise Ship, and the Nuke, and the meat dragon, you know that was awesome-“ “Caaaaarrrrrlll!” Paul interrupted. “And the blood vortex,-“ Carl added. “Caaaarrrrrlll!”, Paul cut in. “You know, that vortex took your blood, and it’s a shame, since I was going to use it for my blood canal.”, Carl went on. “Caaaaarrrrrlll! How did you get here?!”, Paul shouted. “Well, I had to finish my job of killing every living thing, and that included myself”, Carl stated. “Because you know, screaming and then silence.” “What?” “The sound of forgiveness.” “Oh yeah,” Paul remembered. “Well, for whatever reason your here, I’m glad your back. Just please don’t kill anything.” “OK”, Carl answered. “Besides, I wouldn’t be able to fit my orphan meat city here anyway.” *A sheep walks up to Carl and Paul.* “Baaaahhh!!”, the sheep bleated. “Oh, it’s you”, Carl said. “Do you know where the meat dragon went?” “CAAAARRRRLLL!!!” *The End*

I know this has been pointed out before, but i want to make it clear to people who haven't seen this point of view. The series was done but us, the audience, wanted it to continue. We pressured filmcow (Jason) into continuing the series even though it was over. We were the fake Paul making Carl do things and eventually making him insane. Us, the audience drove the series to this point creating a more depressing story than a funny one.

Also, I watched a Llamas with Hats theory that fixated on the concept that the audience asked for more episodes too much, but that was debunked. Just slowly making the show go downhill on purpose to throw off the audience was disturbing but effective.

Jason made the right move by ending the series. He works hard on these,but we couldn't let him take his time. There was a reason why there was a huge distance from 4 to 5 to 6, and the reason why is Jason was taking his time. 6 to 7 to 8 and so on took less time and were the least funny because we rushed Jason. The mask is us. We will eventually tear up Earth. And society is just pushing us further. We *will* be the reason why everybody does,why every criminal is out there,and the reason why we can't live in peace. Jason, thank you for this awesome series. You have given us a masterpiece and we're sorry.

I kinda wish for one last 30 second addition to this.. I like to imagine Paul relaxing in Heaven that is now overpopulated with the entire population of Earth. Suddenly there's a low rumble, slowly getting louder. Paul looks out into the cloud-filled distance and see's a massive line of red. It grows and grows until Paul makes out a form on top. It's Carl, surfing with Satan on a tidal wave of blood and fire. Everyone in Heaven is screaming in fear. Queue the biggest "Caaaaaaarrrll!" in the whole series. One last shot of Carl's face with a relieved smile and a tear in his eye. The End. I'm a shmuck for happy endings.. or.. at least happy for someone.

Genius. The reason FilmCow's content is so great is that it gets its comedic value by hitting you unexpectedly and in strange places, being unpredictable as possible. And here he manages to, in a series characterized by insanity and mayhem, STILL remain unpredictable and hit you unexpectedly. This time, he hits you in the heart. 10/10 series.

Paul is gone, Carl could never see or hear him again and he knew he wronged him, he could never get his forgiveness, so he was trying to get Paul's forgiveness by mimicking him screaming his own name, and then the silence from the music, the silence from the screams, was the true sound of forgiveness in a desolate world that he so dearly craved, and with it, his work was complete.

So it comes down to this. First you need take a dollop of fairy dust, then to rip a tag of mattress. This will compel a ladybug to appear that must be stepped on accidentally, so orphan hands comes from hole that appears from nowhere, these orphan hands must then be assembled to look like ladder that you can use. It's not necessary but yelling CAAAARLLL! during this ritual, ceremony or whatever makes it more epic. If you accidentally fail and summon meat dragon and dont know what to do remember this. Im NOT responsible of any injury, damage, or loss of fairy dust.

We kept asking for more and more just like Paul's mask but... It had to end somewhere. First a dead human in the Duo's house, then the cruise ship and the floating faces etc... Also when Carl jumps of the bridge he makes the sound of forgiveness (screaming and then silence) is that intention, does it imply that paul forgives Paul, do the creators forgive us for asking too much? Does Carl forgive himself? Or am I digging too deep here?

Povilas Račkauskas What if Paul actually died in the 4th episode when Carl set off the nuke but he was just so out of it that he didn't notice?

His last words: "Oh, hey! I didn't do that! Caarl! Caaaaarl!" May he feast upon many hands, may he ride into the sunset on a meat dragon, and may his legacy of destruction and insanity live on inside of every hat. He will be missed. Place your flowers in reply.

I don't give a damn of what people said against your episodes 6-12. As to me, I think Jason Steele is one of the most amazing directors and screenplay writters I've ever seen in my life. The way he changed the direction of this series and the meaning behind it is just incredible. It's sad, yes, but the way he projected that is shockinly great. Besides telling people to go fuck themselves for pushing him so damn hard to continue this series, there is a deep big message: Carl did all that killing shit in the name of love. Cause he always loved his friend and all he wanted to do is to impress him...He did that in the most extreme and sick way possible, but you guys get my point. My heart is so broke with this end, but damn, I think it's perfect in the way it is. It's the right end. A requiem for all the souls he took, and a redemption and an apologize to Paul. I will always keep these two llamas in my heart. And my most sincere gratitude and respect to Jason Steele.

When *I* said I wanted more episodes, I meant like I want to see Carl and Paul get married, adopt a kid, Paul having to prevent Carl from murdering the kid's bully. "Caaaaarrrrll, you can't kill a 8 year old!" "He took Junior's brownies, I worked hard on those. The little punk must pay for his crimes."
