This was a massive hit on dancefloors in Brazil, It played on all the cool nightclubs at that time. And I was a DJ from 1989 to 1994, and had the chance to play It as well. It's curious how it's kinda forgotten today. It's an amazing song, and I got myself singing throughout all the video - it was a nice surprise to notice that I still know how to Sing It all by heart.

Interesting! 1987, at a hip club in Frankfurt, Germany (it still exists, but it isn't hip anymore (-: ) it was played also very often (they almost exclusively played house, acid, and Hip Hop). I thought to myself "This DJ likes Ljoyd Cole, for sure...

Brilliant, underrated song. One of those that unjustly never gets played on the radio. Lloyd looks a bit like a young Elvis crossed with Jimmy Carr in the video IMO.

Mainstream was the Commotions best album. And then LC quits the band to go solo. I paid a chunk of money to buy the Extended version of My Bag and this became the opening song to my favourite playlists from around 1987 to 88

Huge Lloyd Cole fan. Saw him live at the Wadworth. Saw him play a couple times at the Roxy as well. I still listen Rattlesnakes all the time. This is very 80's NY party seen. Long way down is the dark side of this song.

I love the Album Mainstream, it starts with a fast song such as this one here,,,, My Bag ,,,,then some terrific ballads From The Hip /29 /to more fast songs; Jennifer She Said / Mister Malcontent / Sean Penn Blues then more mortal ballads... Big Snake / These Days. I cannot just listen to one song from the album. I glue the Headphones in my Ear Night time and I listen to the whole Album Very Well Recorded Album, All the Instrument, Melodies used on this Album Top Quality ! ! !

@@BlueHopi144 Mieux vaut tard que jamais, je me suis précipitée pour prendre ma place à son concert , seul sur la scène et il chantait en acoustique avec sa guitare , c'était il y a peu : en Mars dernier en France à Perpignan. Moment intense en émotion digne des mélodies égales à sa créativité d'auteur et compositeur en paix avec un public toujours aussi fidèle . C'était très émouvant...☆🎤🎵♡

Quand je pense que je ne devais pas avoir pas plus de 18 ans lorsque je les ai vu à Leuven ( Louvain ) en Belgique , à 15 kms d'ou j'habitait dans les années 80 . Un de mes groupes anglais préférés avec Les Cure ou les Smiths . Incroyable longévité pour Lloyd Cole . Je viens de ré-écouter ses plus belles perles que je n'avais pas écouté depuis plus de 30 ans ....Quel Bonheur !!! Bonne continuation 🌈

@@tisslair49 Excellents choix . J'allais oublier Tracy Chapman qui faisait un tabac avec son premier album vers 1987 je crois . J'étais allé 2 fois en Angleterre à cette époque ( Bournemouth , sur la côte sud , ville bourrée d'écoles pour apprendre l'anglais . J'y rencontrais des jeunes de mon age qui venaient de partout en Europe - quel Pied !!! ) et tous ces groupes étaient vraiment en vogue ...on se jouait leur cassettes dans les parcs anglais ou dans leurs boîtes pour danser . J'effectue en ce moment une grosse recherches des albums ( cd ou vinyl ) de bcp de ces groupes dont j'avais les albums ...mais ont disparu parmi les multiples déménagements ou ont été prêtés ( sans être rendus ) . Les disquaires qui vendent de la seconde main ont souvent pas mal de ces albums qui trainent dans leurs bacs . Il y en a un sur Saint-Malo que je vais souvent consulté . Habitant près de Dinan , c'est 20 mins en voiture ... Je viens de retrouver un album du groupe Prefab Sprout qui avait concoctés des morceaux pop superbes ( les 2 voix , les arrangements musicaux , fabuleux !! ) et je vais tacher de retrouver tous les Lloyd Cole . Je suis en plein dans une période PIXIES que j'ai découvert à leurs débuts ( 1989 /1990 ) et que je viens de rater en Bretagne ...Un des plus grands groupes de surf rock encore vivant et en pleine forme . Qu'est -ce que je me sens vivant avec tous ces fabuleux musiciens et leurs pépites indémodables . 🤘🏻
