The white clip on the fuel line actually doesn't need to be pulled. If you push it down further like a spring the line will pull right out. Great video, hope this helps on future installs.

Wonder why they changed the design on the water separator filter? So instead of draining every fill up... you pretty much have to buy a new filter more often now. I’m glad I have an air dog. 😎 Great video btw!

Definitely prefer an airdog. So much easier to mount with the two steel plates and I like the quick disconnect fittings and their customer service is way better

I agree the only issue i have with airdog is on the trucks with the larger tanks and amp steps the room isnt always there. we custom mounted the one on that lbz i built because of that same reason but their customer support is amazing

i don't like the mass flow return on the fass the air dog has demand flow with keeps the pump quite but what i like to do is install a small cooler in front of the factory fuel cooler before the return to the tank on the lift pump to try to keep the fuel as cool as possible because if you watch the fuel temps in the summer working the truck the fuel gets really hot and the hotter the fuel gets the worst the mpg thats just me good video

I broke both those red and white clips when installing my FASS lift pump 7 years ago. I managed to get them back in and zip tied the fitting and have never had an issue. The problem is I want those clips new but the whole line or whatever was superseded so those clips I desperately want are discontinued. Even my local big diesel shop said those are heavily sought after. If I can find the old part numbers I could print new ones. Any help in the right direction would be appreciated.

I installed this in my truck but looks like it's not working properly I was trying to fill the filters by just leaving them loose and not tightening the filter I waited 5min and they never filled up so I started truck and it ran like that will filters empty im wondering if I did something wrong the filters on lift pump where off and truck was running will the truck die if you disconnect the fass lift pump

Can I run the FASS system without having to drop the fuel tank? I have seen comments on both sides of yes and no. Will the stock guts in the fuel tank be good enough for the FASS system? Oh and great video 👍.

you do not need to drop the fuel tank and it will support it up until a certain point any stock injector stock pump truck will be fine with the factory sending unit

What advice would you give to me I already have a fast 165 I’m going to install it soon I’m also doing tunes and delete for off-road use plus intake and I’m looking to do more down the road road like head studs and head gaskets do you think the fast 165 would work or do you think I should start looking at going to an air dog I am looking atNew injectors and a built transmission one day to

I'm in the similar boat . I just did delete/tune/fass 165/intake/5inch exhuast/exergy plug last week on my LML. Doing trans pressure plug and deeper pan in a couple weeks . What I'm personally doing next is hot and cold side , y-bridge, downpipe . Then paint match, suspension ;)

hey man the 165 will work pretty much up too 800hp or so so I wouldn't worry about it and especially with having the fast already I wouldn't worry about changing it no point if I buy a truck with a fast it usually stays on unless im installing one myself then its an airdog

Quick question on a 2015 duramax fass system does it eliminate the use of the factory fuel filter

It becomes redundant, you can eliminate it yourself with an adapter

I have done this in the past. Just makes sense since the fass filter are like 2 micron and the stock ones are like 10-15

Have you noticed any issues with rock damage to the filters where you placed the pump? I have been told lifted trucks with tires like yours (and mine) have a habit of kicking rocks and puncturing the filters.

This truck didn’t see too much off road I have an air dog on my lml that’s mounted inside the frame rail and I have done dirt drags and launches and gravel roads and never had an issue with that but I’m not so sure of the fass location I assume it is possible for either location to get hit but there is a company that makes a filter box just can’t remember the name

i run airdog 2 -165gph and they seem to be great you will have plenty with that pump if you want to add power down the road!

How much would you charge to install a lift pump/ possibly sump on an lmm? I just did and exhaust and tune (H&S minimaxx) and I’m worried about my cp3

Stephen Kamp It’s so easy to do those two things I’d do it yourself. I’d also start looking into a fuel rail plug if your wanting to run that tuner (I had the exact one, efi live is better) I have an lmm too Lift pump is a must but so is the plug google it it’s 30-45 bucks. If you run your pick up on a 75hp tune or higher you will start to “limp” it and throw codes do to the fact that the stock cp3 can’t keep up with fuel demand. Lift pump would probably stop that from happening but the fuel pressure relief valve on the back of your driver side fuel rail (that’s what you replace with the plug) has a spring in it that’s set to 27k ish psi. That minimax on the top tune pushes the stock cp3 to 29k meaning that relief valve will open relieving pressure. The lift pump would help but you might still get some weird fuel symptoms. Point is it’s worth the 45 bucks even if you never run a high tune it’s piece of mind.

RODley Pumpkins thanks for the advise! I already have the fuel plug and ported inlet, arp head studs, and couple more supporting mods, but haven’t gotten to a lift pump. I’m not looking to run past the 60 hp tune consistently, but want it to be reliable when I do. Any gauge on size pump? I’ve seen people say no more that the 95/100 due to not needing the extra power, then I see people say get as big as you can afford because you can decrease the psi. Then it will be there when you need it. Any thoughts?

all very good responses but i usually will run an airdog 2- 165 its a great middle of the road pump thatll support probable close to 800-900 horsepower but is fine in a stock application so if you dont see yourself going into built motor territory a 165 will fit you cost and performance wise.

DURAMAX_DIESEL how much can you tune down a 165 though? I have a buddy with an lmm who had a 150 with a tune and 64 mm turbo and he would get “high fuel rail pressure” messages every so often. If you can tune it down further, I’ll probably go with that 165, I just don’t want to mess anything up.

Antonio Rocha if you switch to the cat filter then no. If you run the gm filter with the water drain they can leak when you put the fass on. But no point having the filter in the way but it’s up to you.

Those water filters are awful when they are full they will starve your injection pump of fuel😓 they even admit it if you ask them no pressure bypass or way to drain no thanks!
