I know this video is older but, my very cool wife got me a 333xl infinium for an early B-day present. It sounds great I am still fiddling with it to find the perfect sound. I have to say though that the tone section is awsome. I had other amps and you could turn the tone knobs from 10 o'clock to 1 or 2 o'clock and hear a slight difference. With this amp the slightest turn of the knobs makes a difference. I hope it lasts for a longtime. So far I am very impressed.

I saw one demo'd in a store a few weeks ago by a real player. I've owned many high end amps. This guy is unreal !! No video demo can do it justice !! This amp does everything.....even things you can't imagine.

Bugera has been an awesome amp for me. I use a 1990 and 6262. Both have been just rippin' good amps and they take a beating. The 333XL infinium will be my next one.

i stumbled across the 333xl in a music store. it was the best sounding head in sam ash. i played them all and when i seen the price i was like "is it broke" lol!!!! i bought it and it sound better than any amp i ever had...the fx loop went out after a year. i was pissed and sold it. i bought marshall, line 6 all kinds and nothing made me happy. my new 333xl arrived last week!!!lol I LOVE IT!!!! 3 YEAR WARRANTY THIS TIME

Would have been nice if the gain wasnt turned up so high all the time. Also, seemed like the mids were up to create that saturated 80s kinda sound, which is okay, but I think this amp does more than that.

I've played on both amps and got the 333XL infinium. I'd say it's got a tighter sound, while the 6262 is more fizzy. And the clean on the 333XL just doesn't break up at any volume.

Not all Bugera stock tubes are bad. They're made by Shuguang China and they've been putting out some pretty good stuff lately. You kinda answered your own question. If you don't want to be bothered with tubes & biasing then the original version isn't for you. Hope this helped!

@xom400 the 333xl has 2 inputs (high and low gain), xl boost in crunch and lead channel for extra low end and gain, a noise gate, and a presence knob. The regular 333 doesn't have these features except it has a damping feature that the 333xl doesn't have.

I think in the review it should mention whether the company's products are reliable and how hard it is to get them repaired. If you ask a salesman about reliability of the products they carry they should be able to tell you which amps come back to the store for repair a lot.

@CrushedJustice I'm not TTK, but I can tell you that it was pretty much exclusively the first batches of Bugeras that broke down. I've had my 6262 for a year, and still have stock tubes in it. The fuse did go out once, but you can just go to a hardware store and get a new fuse and pop one back in the back, easy peasy.

Ok! here it is TK I hope the Infinium 333xl head is alot better than the first batch of The 333xls I bought this amp just a week before Christmas when The 333xl first come out because my main giging amp was in the shop.I had a NewYears gig to do! Along the third set I noticed a power surging problem, my Furnan surge protecter is on everything was fine there.This amp was runen extremely hot so I shut it down after third set.something was making the tubes over heat. I sent it back after NewYears!

I just picked up a 6260 and my co-guitarist picked up a 6505+ and I've found that I really like the sound of the 6260 over the Peavey. Not knockin his Peavey, that thing is killer, but the 6260 seems to have a little more low end. For me, that's what makes my sound. Especially playin through it with my Epi Les Paul. Both are great amps and I can't wait to see what our songs are gonna sound like with the pair.

Thanks for the info. Just got it last week. It is all I expected. I play mostly clean riffs for blues but sometimes like it a little dirty. The 333xl gives all of that and the reverb I like. Got the 412 cab with it. Playing a Gretsch double jet with a crybaby. Man! It don't get bluer than that. Hopefully, it will last me several years. Thanks again.

@andreisidro So to sum it up. In my opinion the 333xl is the most versatile. Bugera guys call it the "Swiss army knife of Bugera amps", since it can do pretty much any kind of rock tone you would want. The 6260 is more like the modern metal amp, and the 1990 is more for blues, hardrock, punk and classic metal like Sabbath, Maiden, Priest, etc.

Mesa is getting fixed but after this comes in the mesa will be my back up amp.
@AB-80X

Just to chime in. It is a mono amp. Very few heads are stereo like the Diezel VH4S. The advantage of having a stereo cab, is just that you don't need 2 cabs to run in stereo, you sill need 2 amps. Just on a personal note. When you buy the amp, start by replacing the tubes, they are not good. It will sound awsome with some nice JJ EL34s or E34L tubes, also replace the preamp tubes. Same with the cabs. The cabs are fine, but the speakers are crap. It really shines with Celestion V30s. Good luck
@micahcrouch825
@micahcrouch825 11 жыл бұрын
No cab I've ever used has tubes in it, just speakers and wiring. The amp itself (combo or head) has the tubes and produces the signal, which is pushed to the speakers. A head doesn't have any speakers, which is why you need a cabinet. Playing through a head with no speakers connected is a bad thing, don't do it. Hope that helps.

@LewisWilliams94 Now tone wise the 333xl and the 6260 are very similar. The thing is, 333xl is a bit more expensive (if i'm not mistaken) cus it has 3 channels, one being clean and the other two being tow different stages of distortion. The 6260 has only two channels, both with gain knobs. The first goes from really clean to like blues distortion, and the second goes from that to really overdriven tone.

id like to see that amp with a different set of tubes for the next vid. Its a good way to see how exactly the infinium thing works, and itll make for a good tube tone comparison. Maybe even mix the tubes up if youd go through the trouble, just to see how it sounds.
@ctalbert1
@ctalbert1 12 жыл бұрын
It does look like it but I've played both and they don't sound alike. I actually like the Bugera tone better although some will disagree. To me, the JSX has more of a "smoother" sounding distortion, and the 333XL is a little more heavy and grainy. I think it sounds like a combination of the JSX, 6505, Dual Rec, and JVM, and probably because Bugera hijacked parts of the circuit design of all of those amps.

take a listen for yourself, theyre voiced completely differently and for different things, the 333xl is more versatile, and aimed more for older metal sound with a good clean. the 6260 aimed at metal... and just metal, you can make it sound good for other things but even the cleans not as good. the 333xl is aimed at imitating the peavey triple xxx (own one currently, switched over from a peavey 6505) and the 6260 is aimed at the 6505 by peavey. personal choice, i like the 333/xxx

@CrushedJustice It's easy then. Wait a year. Bugera has stated in the past they've tried to use more reliable components for this line of new amps and they know how much previous muckups have stirred the pot. So take from it what you will - and either buy it, or wait a while to hear from someone else of its reliability.

That is why they have had the overheat issues and so on. It would be great if you would measure the plate voltage and maybe install a few different tubes, and then with the use of a probe, reviev on how many mAh's it puts on the different tubes. That would be a great way to see how and IF the Infinium system really works as well as they claim. I liked the fact that you could adjust the bias yourself. That meant if there was a problem, you could fix it. What now?

@lmsjr I realized after posting the comment that "muddy rumble" wasn't the exact right phrase but I couldn't think of the word I was looking for until later, which is "boomy". The recording of the distortion, especially the intro jam, comes across boomy. I know you don't use cheap mics, but as an example, it's the same boomy sound you get when you put a cheap mic too close to a cabinet and you get a combination proximity effect and too many dB on the low frequency.

@LewisWilliams94 I don't know if you already have the amp, but here's my 2 cents anyway. I own a 1990 and I also played tons of times in both the 333xl and the 6260 in the studio my band used to rehearse. If you play strictly what you said then the 1990 is not really for you as it doesn't have the type of gain you need (though you can get there with my overdrive pedal).

I can't say I like this amp because I have the peavey jsx. I wish you would compare this to the jsx. From my own comparison the jsx is more articulate and is more versatile in range of tone. And the peavey is built like superman and is pretty indestructible aside from a tube replacement once every year or so. From what I have heard the 333xl is unreliable at best and dosent work new at worst. People who say that it's cheap you are plane out wrong you can get the superior peavey for 600$

A few things I'd like to know. What is the socket spacing for the power amps? The old 333XL didn't have room for KT88s/6550. The old Bugeras left the factory with way too much bias, hence the infamous problems. In terms of the automatic bias, how does that work? I like to bias to 70-75% of 100% milliamps. How does it know what the right bias is? Have you measures the plate voltage and tested if they have fixed the high bias problem? Continued above.

I am presently looking for a new amp. I have checked out Line 6, Marshalls, Blackstar and a host of others. Just watching this video makes me think that this would be the amp for me. I would like to know what type of cab you used with the head though. Of course Bugera recommends their cab. If you could let me know...thanks.

i am liking what I hear tone-wise. Sounds great.....however I am scared of spending $850 on a halfstack that is put out by a Behringer company. I have had bad experience with Behringer and don't trust them. Are these amps really reliable?

I had a 333, and I liked it just fine, but... I like my Marshall TSL122 much, much better. That said... What I am more interested in is hearing about the infinium aspect of the circuit. More details, please, please, please, Please, PLease, PLEASE.

hello, I'll buy a new amplifier, my favorite was the H&K tubemeister 36, the power soack is ideal for the bedroom where I play most of the time, but the bugera 333 120w costs 400 dollars less than the H&K, and the 50w version is no longer available in my country, so the cuestion, I can get good sound in a bedroom volumes (50 - 60 decibels) with the bugera 333 120w?
