As they say, the numbers don't lie. Nice work Kenny! I have a Savage 12 (1:9) in .223 that LOVES 69 gr SMK sitting on 24 gr H335. I'm sending the bolt back to Savage today to fix a VERY annoying fail to eject issue that does affect the way I shoot (break cheek on nearly every single shot and dig around in the chamber to get the empty out) which affects results. That thing is a hammer though. Love that aspect! Once the ejection is fixed I'm going to sell it one way or another. It will not single feed without without effort and that doesn''t work for me. I know...first world problem, right? LOL

Kenney, Great information. I would love to get my hands on one of those FX Crony's! I have a very accomplished F-Class shooter who tests bullets a lot. He says the 112 does not like to go over 2850 fps and your testing is showing that to be true.

Speed kills, I find the lower speeds group better in both the 6 creed and 6 arc. I've only banged factory loads thru my 6 GT. I'm looking forward to starting to load for the GT. Thanks for taking the time to explain all of your findings. And taking the time to explain more on the kestrel. Great video. G

I have a Kestrel 4dof I like but any wind meter is limited when you can see 3 different mirages between you and the target 🎯the 4dof model doesn’t have a MV truing feature but what Hornady calls axial form factor instead thx for the video

Kenny, in the video you stated that you have a Kesteral X. Since that is the newest unit out I am assuming that it has the lasrest software, but maybe not. Kestrel latest software upgrade for the 5700 Elite and Sportman has added the tall target test. Software update 1.49 has what Kesteral calls "How to calibrate sight scale factor using Kestrel. Since you stated that you can't do that in your Kesteral X, I am assuming that you do not have that lastest software update install. I install the lastest in my 5700 Ruger model and I now have the cal program in my 5700. Hope this helps, like your videos expressly the one on the 6mm ACR.

Kenney, can you explain the purpose of the flower-shaped target? Isn't a circle better? BTW, when choosing a load, many people don't consider that the potential of a round at 100 yards and at 500 or 700 yards can be very different. 👍 P. S. What a rifle... Less recoil than .22LR!

So which 6mm do you like best, 6GT, 6 ARC, 6 Creed or one of the others? Out to 1000 yd I think the ARC does ok but past that maybe need a little more power? Kenny, thank you as always for great content.

105,109,110,112 bullet going 2850+ will result in the same elevation and wind holds regardless of what 6mm Cartridge you've picked. Consider availability of brass, components, and your time, which will help you choose the cartridge that fits you. I personally like being able to get factory ammo at local gun shops in case Im not able to reload or it gets lost in the mail. At least I can still compete
@johntownley9885 Жыл бұрын
@@EagleEyeShooting Thank you sir for the response and I agree I like being able to buy factory ammo even though I’ve been reloading for decades. Plus the factory match ammo that we have available to us now is really good.

Excellent video! Do you think BC calculated using known bullet drop and muzzle vel delta from 100yds to 600yds an acceptable way to calculate BC on the cheap? I did that with my 6ARC load development a while back. To get velocities at 600yds I just hid the old cheap chrono behind the sighing plate at the 600yd berm. Then shot just over that and got trued speeds. Using that I adjusted BC instead of velocity to get better data for longer distances. All that with no kestrel, just Sterlock Pro. I shoot MOA fixed scopes because I see targets in inches and am usually shooting at known distances. I just got a box of 1k Starline 6ARC brass. Gonna make piles this weekend! LeverEvolution and 105VLDs!
@EagleEyeShooting Жыл бұрын
Just got in my box of 6mm ARC brass today. Converted it and shot some of my 22 DPC with awesome results. As for your technique, you still need to calculate its BC and do not know of the fomula using velocities as BC=section density ÷ i (dimensional shape profile)
@aceprater5397 Жыл бұрын
@@EagleEyeShooting sweet. Basically another way to say it: If you know your drops and speeds at a certain known yardages, I would I would use that to calculate for BC and trust it more than what the box says. Keep pushing the envelope of accuracy!

@EagleEyeShooting well plenty reviews out there of it vs lab. I'd like to see more about the features the bullet speed does. Hard to find good info on it. Does it track the bullet over distances and give speeds at the distances? How far out does it go?
@halfdollar86 Жыл бұрын
Hey Kenny. What barrel profile would you suggest for a target rifle in 6cm. Mostly prone shooting? Have you found any accuracy difference between say a MTU and M24?
@EagleEyeShooting Жыл бұрын
Target rifles are typically a straight contour 1.25 with no muzzle brake. This allows for higher string of fire and eliminate stringing during sets. The added benefit a straight contour allows for wider nodes and typically are more accurate
