This is a solid review. One thing that's missing is how you feel about it: Do you love it? Hate it? Meh?
@concrete-waves2 жыл бұрын
It's overall solid - definitely a fun setup to ride. I just didn't wanna make a blanket statement like "it's great, everyone should ride this" because it does fit a certain riding style. I think we're all aware of the quality of Loaded at this point. That's why I sort of went in the direction of explaining the deck shape/ riding feel 🤔
@glennsak2 жыл бұрын
@@concrete-waves I agree with that statement. I guess I just wanted to hear your personal opinion at the end.

These reviews are perfect. The way that you outline the points you are going to cover is extremely helpful for me to get engaged and excited for what is to come throughout the video. Just wanted to say thank you for providing high quality and applicable videos. They have really helped me understand more than just what board to buy, but more about the sport as a whole.

The Ballona Willy is awesome! The love handle wheels and knuckle bushings make it comparable to a caver CX once the trucks are loosened. Its lower to the ground than a cx and is overall a nicer board than many of the comparable carvers.

Dude,some of the best skateboard reviews ever. I wondered how they would work for the Waterborne high performance surfskate conversion kit. Like you say it's all "personal preference . I built my own custom surfskate with the kit, with a 22"wheelbase and found it to be not as snappy,or quick. Incredibly fun and easy to learn though. Now I need the perfect complete to just bolt another kit on that I already have. I am looking for a 15""-17.5" wheelbase. I think it's gonna be the best set up with harder durometer (even cored) wheels for a high performance short board experience surfskate. I'd love to know, I thought either one is perfect. I also am interested in the Loaded Coyote for the kit. Website says that it's outta stock. Other than that; it looks like a custom re-issue is the best option. Whaddaya think; my man? I've got a longboard experience(44" pintail), midlength(32.5"fish), now I want a short board experience.

I really dig the look and shape of this board and was thinking something similar. I have a 31” slide with 17” WB. But I’m pretty used to ~28x8 street setups. Still wonder if it would just be too small for a surfskate.
@williammadray78182 жыл бұрын
@@muckeyn good components.
@concrete-waves2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Personally, I think that this deck shape is too tiny for a pivoting surfskate adapter. Maybe that's just for my riding preference, but I feel like your best bet is to pair a bushing-based setup if you go for the Ballona deck. As far as a snappier feeling setup for your waterborne, I'd look into Life Skateboards. They have some pretty cool deck shapes and I've heard some great things about them. The Coyote deck is too thin (in my opinion) for a pivoting adapter
@concrete-waves2 жыл бұрын
@@muckeyn I didn't test this deck with surfskate adapters because I felt like it'd be too small for a pivoting surfskate adapter. It definitely could work, but I don't think I'd enjoy it

Brilliant review, just found about the Ballona recently & kinda like the shape. Have you tried your CX trucks on it? Tempted to pair it with a C5 or the newish Solride trucks. Do you think it'll work as a surfskate deck? Got a CX on a Landyachtz ATV Ditch Life Birds & it is my fave setup in my quiver.

Looks fun and snappy. I like the Moby graphics, but think I’d prefer the Willy’s bushings and wheels.
@iTestVlog2 жыл бұрын
Loaded just entered the dinghy zone with a more comfortable more relaxed shape. The dinghy should be more fun but I must say that the nose shape looks very good and big wheels are safer in such a small board. I would add to the party Randel 125s or Bennett 4" just because loaded doesn't have them in House doesn't mean they wouldn't do a better job in this setup.

Hmmm. Each serves a different riding style. For me, I still like having a deck shape with a higher degree kicktail/nose for occasional ollies/shuvits. I'd prob choose the Dinghy/Tugboat most of the time because of my current riding style. But if I'm just looking for a chill deck shape and tryna cruise/carve, I'll use the Ballona

Do you like that it is rkp more than if it was tkp? I gotta think this is the first ever mini cruiser to not come with TKPs so I'm wondering if it feels like you are sacrificing some agility. Also, even though it pretty mellow do you think it would get annoying to cruise on fire somewhat longer distances due to its size?
