Life is full of challenges and hardships. Crunchy peanut butter doesn't ignore this fact, it doesn't pretend like the world is okay when it isn't. Each peanut represents a struggle, a hardship or journey through suffering we each must face on the path of life. To ignore this reality isn't blissful ignorance, it's antithetical to leading a good life. We have to face suffering like a soldier marching into war; fight to overcome each day even when our bones buckle on the verge of breaking and our entire being screams with the echoes of defeat. The smooth life isn't a true life, it's a life of deceit. It's a life ignorant to the harsh realities of existence. Old thread, but I'll add that they changed it because the longer you're watching, the more time you're spending on their site, the more ads they can make you watch. So having a person sit in front of your ads for a whole hour is usually more effective than a few more people only sitting through a single ad in a smaller video

A pyro only build would probably need dark pyromancies as without them bosses resistant to fire would take forever but with dark pyromancies you also deal dark damage

So I'm on a conference call in a few mins. Set up my bluetooth headset for that. When I need to use microphone it goes into HSP mode instead of A2DP mode. So the audio is super low telephone quality. If I were to do a pyromancy only run, I would use dark pyromancies, simply because you can enhance dark damage from many different sources. I had a build with onyx blade that had the blindfold mask (ringed city), dark clutch ring, and both rings that buff pyromcies for extra more damage, and whatever other ring you might want. Obviously the 12% buff ring is kind of optional. Dark pyromancies hit like a truck with that setup though

Pure pyro is really fun, and kind of broken. Boulder Heave has splash damage and goes through enemies, meaning that it is perfect for the deacons (one cast can kill a whole group). Also, if you transpose Black Serpent from Wolnir’s soul, you can easily kill the Dancer from range. I did it with 18 vigor, 24 attunement, 12 endurance, and 22 in both int and faith. I had the pyro rings and sage ring. Does 300+ damage per cast.

Sitting here at the end of 2020, and hearing boulder heave is terrible... It doesn't go far, but it is a lot of damage that is physical that you use in a pyromancy only run. Started another pyro run and while talking to friends I used the stray demon soul. Might just restart the run haha

I just thought of this and wanted to see what people who know the lore WAY better than me think. DS1 and 3 seem to be connected more concretely then 2. Could 2 be in the same world but a different continent, and neither knows of the other. It could add to the whole tragic meaningless existence angle. Since on both ends they have gods, great lords, dragons, and "chosen ones" working to "fix" the world but really they're just affecting their own land. So no matter how big the accomplishment or how far the consequences seem to reach, they're just a small speck working in what amounts to a fraction of all creation. (I haven't played the third game and have very little knowledge of its world or lore overall, and of 1 and 2 I know what I've been told or deduced through beating them a couple times but nothing too deep)

Ds2 is lifetimes after 1. Kingdoms have rise. and fallen naturally then hollowing started to happen and so vendrick tried to stop hollowing which he failed at. Now 3 is kinda fan servicey which is in part why it feel more like 1. However where as in 1 people were losing humanity and in 2 people were going hollow in 3 you're ash you're worse than a hollow and seen as such this means you're kindling in a sense. In all reality the differences and similarities can be summed up to what solaire said in 1 "Time is convoluted in lordran"

Old comment, but it's actually the same place with much passage of time. Drangleic is around the same spot as Anor Londo, and in terms of the timeline the games do actually take place in the order they're made. It's why you find Drangleic Knights in the entrance to Anor Londo, as a hint towards this. It's also why Drangleic Castle was similar to the castle in Anor Londo.
