Only 1 more Ras Kitchen Video and my “ plane land” in Kingston. Leaving 10/16 for a week in “ de yaaaard”! Staying with this amazing man and family for a week. I am so excited. I know this is going to be life changing. I have suitcase filled with things just for Doret and Ratty. Educational and fun toys for Ratty and ladies things for Doret. I also have items for the school. I am looking forward to Spliff chat, Bush tea, ital soup, roots tonic, porridges, “ frittahs” , And rafting on the Rio Grande with this amazing man. Since sanitation was iffy at best and not understood the how or why people got sick they banned things religiously because the monks and religious leaders who tended to be the most well educated noticed patterns. Like pig was banned because people who tended to live and eat it a lot might get sick because many parasites and dieses can transfer between humans and pigs. With shrimp, lobster ext they all need to be eaten very fresh because they rot and spoil quickly unlike fish which can be easily gutted and salted which lets you keep them a LOT longer.
