Local Chip Shop for Tea

Today we have our local chip shop for tea

What we don’t take into account sometimes when we bounce into our local takeaway is the rent,wages and leccy they have to pay before turning a coin.

delicious, I am from Australia, we don't use curry sauce, just salt and maybe vinegar or tomato sauce, if we have fish a lemon wedge to squeezes on and tartare sauce and we never have mushy peas, funny we a different like that

Looks divine Keith, I know you could probably get the chips, sausages etc from the supermarket for a fraction of the price but you wouldn't get the same quality and it's good to have a treat now and again.

I can't bring myself to go to the chippy, it's so expensive. I just had a giant chicken breast, cooked it in oven, with oven chips - cost me about £1.50 - £1.65 total. Fish and chips would be £6 - £7. 4 times as expensive. It soon adds up to a lot of money.

Keith, you will probably sell more of your merchandise when it's the right season... not too many people buying hoodies after the hottest heatwave on record!! Maybe promote them again in the Autumn. Maybe you could do a little promo clip to put halfway through your videos, like John Kirkwood does on his recipe books!!

I'm very curious, my family run a chip shop here in NZ what this looks like in the UK versus what I know here. Is the battered sausage a Saveloy? Do they fry in oil or fat? The chips look handmade. You don't get curry sauce down here but you can find everything else you got in Chip shops here.

The battered sausage is a sausage Fiona, they do sell saveloy as well, and the chips are cooked in oil hope that helps

I don't know what those deep-fried scallops are! I've never seen them in chippies down south. If the batter on the sausages was soggy, it's because they are all tightly wrapped in paper. Do the chippies where you live have cardboard boxes as an alternative to paper wrapping? If i get fish and chips and they don't have a box, then I always ask for a paper tray. I've only got a short distance to carry the food back to the car.
